Outstanding! It was a pleasure dealing with Lisa Ryan.....from start to finish....from concept, design, to the last detail, Lisa, Scott and crew were very helpful, reliable, professional, friendly, on-time and on budget! We love our new dock. Thank you very much AMC .....and we really appreciate the recommendations you provided for other marine professionals we needed to complete the project! We highly recommend AMC for dock work, repair or new construction.

John and his crew did an outstanding job of straightening pilings pulled out of line and replacing everything from the pilings up with quality materials, workmanship and attention to detail. Issues were addressed promptly with innovative solutions. I would recommend their services to anyone in need of a new or refinished dock without hesitation.

Easy to work with and great communication throughout process.
Best bid of 3 quotes. Timely response to all requests.
I asked to have the lift installed ASAP and was shocked how quickly the permits, installation and boat setup were completed. All done in just a few weeks. Pilings were placed perfectly just an inch away from the from the dock for easy boat access.
If you need a boat lift AMC is the place to go!

John and Lisa Ryan are professionals and we trust them completely after having worked with them. Three years ago we went out to bid for a new dock because ours was aging. John and Lisa impressed me with their knowledge and their attention to detail. We chose to do other projects first, so when we returned to the dock project in 2014 we spoke with AMC again. We got bids from six companies, several of which were acceptable. Why did we choose AMC? We wanted it done right and we wanted someone who would hold THEMSELVES accountable. We knew the permitting process would go smoothly. We had heard from other members of the community they stand by their work and it is of high quality. Ultimately it is a gut decision and we are very pleased with our decision, even though I have to endure good-natured teasing for taking THREE years to make a decision!
The design and quote process was collaborative and John and Lisa both provided good insight and guidance. John was often on site or would call to check in and make sure we were happy with the progress.
The crew, Scott, Tom and Ian, was professional, prompt and fastidious. They were very good communicators, always letting us know what to expect. They worked diligently, kept to schedule and delivered what they promised. One area required a step and Scott thought very hard about how to make it work well and be durable. His solution has turned out to be one of my favorite features of the new dock. We used two colors of Lumberock and we were very impressed with the finishing detail and thought that went into how best to use the accent color. The result is a truly beautiful and functional dock we will enjoy for many years.
These guys are busy for a reason. We waited several weeks for the job to begin--we knew that up front and they communicated any time there was a weather delay! They were patient and willing to wait while we made a decision. Once the job began they gave us their full attention. We are proud to have people like the owners and crew members of AMC in our community.

THE CREW INCLUDING FORMAN WERE ON-TIME EVERY DAY. CLEANED UP AT END OF DAY AND A STRANGER WOULD NOT EVEN KNOW MAJOR WORK WAS PERFORMED. THE MEN WERE PROFESSIONAL AND RESPECTFUL TO US AND OUR HOME. JOHN RYAN WENT OVER PLANS, GAVE US SOME SUGGESTIONS, WE MADE SOME CHANGES, AND ALL WENT MORE SMOOTHLY THAN I EXPECTED. A JOB WELL DONE BY JOHN, GLEN, ROB, TOM, AND IAN.

John( owner) was great throughout the project and continues to be a good resource. The dock was built as specified and of high quality. John is very experienced and will save you time when it comes to conforming to State, County and City regulations and provide design ideas that will work. I highly recommend AMC.

We sought three bids for the work (I say and quot;soughtand quot; because one contractor disappeared on us before providing anything) and AMC came in with the most detailed and fairly priced quote. It was also clear that John has serious pride in AMC's workmanship and building specifications. We also liked that it was an all-in quote.
John's wife, Lisa, handled all permitting and variance matters, which all went extremely smoothly.
After the variance and permit were issued, it took a while to commence the project (though they did start demo earlier than estimated when a prior project went into standby mode) and it would sometimes take a couple or few days to hear back on an inquiry, but we DID always hear back. I believe this is just a matter of how successful and busy they are, and it's John and Lisa running the show (not a huge company).
When it came time to select our dock material, John turned us on to a product (Azek) that we weren't even aware of. I did a fair amount of research on it and was thrilled to be given the alternative to composite under the same estimate. The (much) lower heat retention allowed us to choose the darker color we were hoping to achieve out there.
We were only there during one day of the work (and Scott was pleasant as could be) but always noticed that the work site was well maintained.
The finished product is gorgeous. From the wrapped pilings (why doesn't everyone do that??) to the tighter-than-required fastener spacing, this thing is clearly built to last. We look forward to enjoying it for many years and will definitely use AMC when we are ready for boat lift.

This is my second use of Advanced Marine Construction (AMC) for dock work. I did not even get competitive quotes this time because I was so satisfied with the quality results and fair price from three years ago.
We purchased a larger boat which required reconfiguration of our dock. John Ryan (owner) came right out to discuss our plans, make suggestions and finalize the design. He then offered a competitive quote which left us leeway for some in-process changes as we worked around the new boat's requirements. His crew arrived as scheduled and worked diligently and neatly. His crew did the little things that make for a high quality end result. Just a few examples - their trim work when fitting deck boards to pilings match the diameter of the piling exactly, no unsightly gaps; or when making the final trim cut along the length of the walkways they run a bucket under the saw to catch the scraps. I watched a neighbor's company just dump all the excess cuts into the water. They recess piling bolts at key locations so there is no chance a boat will be scratched. They install piling caps SIZED to the pilings vs some vendors that slap ones on that are too large and eventually crack from the strain. These little things make all the difference in my mind.
Three final comments: (1) With John's guidance on setting a price, I sold my boat lift to a new neighbor. I had recommended AMC to this neighbor and thought it would be a good solution for both as AMC could deliver and install the lift and the neighbor would not have to worry about getting a quality dock. There was no need for my participation in that plan and as far as I knew it was going forward until the time came to remove my lift. John told me it did not look like the the neighbor was going to use AMC. This would have left me in a lurch because I had no way of delivering the lift to the neighbor. John said not to worry and had his crew move it for me.
(2) During the permitting process which AMC handles completely, the state informed AMC of a change that would allow me to keep a portion of my dock that was scheduled for removal. John told this to me and then reduced the price $500 since his guys would not have to do that portion of the work. I am sure there are many companies that would just pocket that money.
(3) Finally, when the county inspector completed his measurements and signed-off he then unsolicited said (and I quote) and quot;I am not allowed to give recommendations but I can tell you that you chose one of my top two companies in the county to install your dock. These guys always do quality work and if there is ewer an issue they have always gotten right on it and resolved it to my satisfaction.and quot;

I spent a few hours one Friday afternoon calling several different companies to request estimates for a new boat lift. John from Advanced Marine was at our house the next morning. We are situated in a smaller canal and we discussed the possible configurations for the lift. John seemed very knowledgable and offered good suggestions on how to best use the space. He sent us a written estimate and drawings within a couple of days. Over the next week, we met with a few other companies, and received a couple more written estimates. The estimates were in the same price range, but Advanced Marine was slightly less and offered an Angie's List Member discount. We were debating between Advanced Marine and one other company, but I am very pleased that we decided on Advanced Marine. Once we gave them the go ahead, they pulled the appropriate permits and had the work completed within two weeks. We were pleasantly surprised at how quickly the work was completed. Overall, we were very pleased with the price, final product and the professionalism of this company.

Both John and Lisa, the owners of Advanced Marine were both very attentive. They spent a lot of time on the dock drawing to make sure they had exactly what we wanted. They included everything we wanted in the proposal and gave some very good suggestions. There price was coemptive with the other proposals we obtained. We decided to go with them do the the personal attention we felt they would deliver and the quality of building materials they use. They started exactly when they said they would and finished in about 10 days. There was no delays at all. There 2 man crew showed up early every day and worked until finish. They were polite, neat and cleaned up the job sight every day. They were extremely knowledgable and built an impeccable dock. The finished product came out wonderful. We could not be happier. A matter of fact my parents are now in the process of signing a contract with them to rebuild their dock. You can not go wrong wih this company!

Advanced Marine Construction was one of 3 companies that gave me a quote on replanking and rebuilding parts of my dock. They were the low bidder but had a detailed bid and were high on Angies List so I contracted the job to them. They were professional and had outstanding quality on the construction they preformed. Any additional work that needed to be perfrormed was discussed and approved by me in advance. The workmanship was the best I have seen on any docks that were rebuilt in my area. The employees are very skilled and were professional at all times. I would recommend them with out reservation. They are an excellent company.

We really appreciated John coming in and saving this project for us. His team does great work - the dock is really solid and looks awesome. We had to wait a while until they could schedule us, but the quality of their work made me see why they have a bit of a wait--they are probably the best dock guys around--and it was definitely worth the wait. If I had one tiny nit it would be that John is a little slow at returning calls/emails, but I suspect it's because he is so busy and it wasn't really a big deal - more of a personal indiosyncrasy on my part. I would definitely recommend Advanced Marine Contruction - we couldn't be happier with the end result.

John Ryan was prompt and accommodating in responding to our request to remove an existing old dock and to work up plans from several drawings we had put together of what we wanted for a new dock. His wife Lisa did a great job in completing the final drawings/plans and getting the multiple permits required so the job could get underway. The job was first rate. The end product - beautiful and functional. The crew did an excellent job and added extra finishes such as rub rails we had bought and put them on the pilings for us. They were on site early every day and worked very hard at getting the project done. We were so happy with Advanced Marine that we had them come back again to add on to the dock in Feb 2009.

DECO Boat Lift recommended John Ryan's Advanced Marine Construction as their installer of choice. I liked the DECO lift so I called John. He came on a Saturday prior to us even having closed on the house to talk about installation and design options. He returned after we closed to give me the requested two design options and to finalize measurements - again on a Sat since we had not moved over to the area. John's price was in the middle of 3 other vendors. He asked me to check Angie's List. AMC was by far the top listing so I selected a design and went with John. John projected one month to start due to permitting and materials acquisition. He only required a $500 deposit on a $17,500.00 job. About a week before start, I called John to change the design - no problem. he reissued the permits and within one week was ready to install. His installers, Mike and Shane, arrived on time and worked diligently until the job was done. They made some minor mods to the design as they went along and worked with me when I had questions. John's electrical subcontractor was also quite friendly, very neat and on-time so that the job could be completed as scheduled. We had a remote control unit installed as well. Somewhere along the line the actual remote "key fob" went missing. John called the electrician and when it wasn't located John supplied another no questions asked. The dock already had a small jet ski lift, however, there was no motor cover and the motor itself would not turn. Mike took a look at it, moved some parts and got it to work. John sent over a used motor cover from a previous tear out free of charge. I highly recommend John's company for any dock work you may be considering.

John's price was competitive. His crew arrived on schedule and completed the work in a timely manner. Both the materials and workmanship were first rate. John quickly replaced the boat lift when he learned that the one installed was not the one I ordered. He also repaired damage to my seawall (at a cost to him of around $1,500) when he learned that his barge had caused it.
