Doors (Interior) Installation and Replacement
$4,000
contracted Doors by Tim to replace 6 closet doors in my house...thought they sounded good...says he's a "Christian man"...well, $4000 later I'm completely unsatisfied. First thing, this is the first time I've ever wanted to change our doors in my home....I'm not an expert...that's why I hired one...so I thought. Little did I know that when they show you a white door in the catalog, it's actually not white...it's a shade of primer white. I then thought ok, no problem, I just pay $4000 for six doors, they must come in and paint them later. Nope. I was then told by Tim that that's how they come and that I would have to pay EXTRA to have them painted. What!? Obviously, I'm not irritated that I will have to pay more money to get the doors painted, but more so because Tim didn't tell me this little (being facetious) but made it sound like I was the dope for not knowing this! I explained that HE was the so called expert and he should have let me know this so that I could budget for the extra expense. Now, Tim turns it on me and says that I'M being rude. I explained, in a clam but stern voice, that I was a little put off by his response and the situation that I now find myself in and again, he should be taking some if not most of the responsibility for this situation. Tim doesn't want to hear any of this, he then makes a rude comment and hangs up on me! Now my doors don't work or slide open easily, they are an off white and I'm completely not satisfied. His workers were nice enough but they couldn't get the doors to open easily, telling me that "there new and stiff" or "it the doors Tim ordered, we can't do anyting else to make them work better". Do yourself a favor...never use Tim for anything.

Contracted Tim for six closet doors. The doors do not work right. Tim was rude and defensive when explaining the issues I was having with his company. Never tried to offer any solutions. Hung up on me. I spent $4000 dollars with this business I am left with 5 of six doors that don't work correctly and a bad taste in my mouth for Tim & his business. He claimed to be a "religious man"...please, he is the complete opposite.

They were unable to fulfill the original order and presented a vanity that was chipped, drawers not fully installed, as well as drawer fronts installed upside down. Customer service was all about chalking it up to it was a discontinued model though we were not told at the time of the initial order only after they could not fulfill it as promised. The quality of the vanity was shotty and not nearly worth the high price. Cut out the middleman and deal with a true cabinet company, not these folks.
Response from Doors by Tim, LLC
"Before you purchased the vanity, we let you know that the vanity was on closeout, the distributer was discontinuing carrying these vanities, and we could not guarantee what they had. Because of the great price, you were ok with that as you were selling the house. As you stated, because we were unable to get the soft close drawers for you, we did give you back $140 IMMEDIATELY and you were ok with that. We also refunded money off the vanity because of a small chip that went unnoticed when we inspected the vanity before calling you for pick up. You agreed to this because you said that it was going to be back against the wall and wouldn?t be seen. Before you took your vanity home, you were satisfied with your investment- which was less than $500 for the 60? vanity. Later when you saw the top drawers were not secured properly, we scheduled someone to take care of that issue. Again, you were pleased with his work. The next day Oct. 15th , you came into the showroom with a drawer front that you ripped off the vanity and brought in. You stated that you felt the drawer fronts were installed wrong. We explained and showed you that the notch is supposed to be at the bottom and that is how they are installed on all the vanities, even the ones that we have in our office kitchen but you weren?t happy with that. I?m sorry that you feel they SHOULD be designed one way when that is not how they are meant to be built. Since the vanity supplier does not carry spare vanity drawer fronts or come out themselves to fix it, we explained that we would fully refund your vanity purchase since you were unhappy with it. We believe we have offered excellent customer service as we sent out someone to fix the drawers within a few days of your initial complaint at no cost to you. We then offered a full refund when you were still unhappy with the product. We have been responsive and tried to be accommodating throughout this process."

I wish I could include pictures with this review. I hired Bathrooms by Tim (aka Doors by Tim) to do a COMPLETE BATHROOM REMODEL, including moving a shower drain and building two new closets. I supplied all the materials and the cost was $15,000. I knew that I was on the high end, but based on the pictures and video I was shown during the Sales Pitch, I was expecting an exceptional and complete job. What I received, was anything but. To start, the shower wall was not plumb, thereby causing a corner to has very minimal grout at the bottom to a very large grout line at the top. The soap dish installation was the same - an actual 1/2 inch grout line on one side. The ceiling that they repaired does not match the existing ceiling and actually looks like a big patch. Not only were walls and trim not repaired, textured properly, or painted - they were not even paint ready. There is overspray all over the bathroom - trim, tiles, fan. Mirrored bifold doors and light fixtures were not reinstalled. We have had to remove door casing and reinstall because it was not level and off almost an inch. When we brought issues to Tim's attention, we were told "we are only human" and "we do our best". I wish that was what I was told prior to signing a contract. Tim did not come out to see the problems and only wanted the balance of his money. Tim sent out a business partner and the worker who did the work and expected to be able to fix the problems at that time. If they were able to fix the problems, they would have been done right the first time. After more research, I find that Tim is not the State License Holder. I would think that the actual licensed contractor should see the property at some point.
Response from Doors by Tim, LLC
"First of all, thank you for the business. We would appreciate final payment of $6500 as the job was completed 9/1/17. Secondly, the contract was for one closet. You ordered my men to build a second closet at my expense while I was on vacation. The initial contract was to take a walk-in shower and turn it to a closet, and take a closet and turn it into a walk-in shower. Your initial complaint was three items: 1) a soap dish we told you would not work; 2) closet shelving which you approved and was not in the contract; and 3) something about some window tint. As an experienced contractor of over 35 years, we are always prepared to handle cosmetic repairs as well as any other issues. On 9/15/17, as we all got caught up with hurricane Irma, my business partner, tile guy, and carpenter came to take care of all your needs. You refused to allow us to do any work and said you would let us know if you would let us complete the work. As of today, we have not received payment from you and are moving forward legally."

Tim's by Tim seem to be great friendly people who did what they said they would do for a reasonable price. The work was done on time and appears to be excellent workmanship. I would hire them again. They installed an exterior door leading to our pool deck.
