I had a pool built by Blue Marlin Pools in 2016. They started approximately in June and completed my pool in early September. I will honestly say from the beginning of my review that I was pleased with most of what they promised me. The pool is a nice pool and the the time table for completions was pretty much as promised. That is the good. The bad is how they stand behind their product after the pool as been paid for and completed. Their follow up on issues after completion is terrible. I called (5) five times to have an issue corrected. Just to be accurate I have phone records indicating my call days. I called on 3/29/2017, 6/12/2017, 6/22/2017, 6/29/2017, 7/10/2017. My problem was a leak in the main gutter against the home. it was right in the middle of a normal traffic area. I just wanted the leak fixed. I hired Blue Marlin to build the pool, I did not hire individual sub contractors. So the people I contacted was the company that I hired to do all the contracting needs. Blue Marlin Pools. Their response was always, we will send someone out. Well, weeks turned to months. On my last phone call I was frustrated however not rude. I believe Mike Jackson spoke with me and basically called me rude and asked me if I wanted him to call the responsible contractor or not. Well of course I wanted him to call. His comment was not only inappropriate, but goes against the warranty I should receive without having to fight tooth and nail to get. For this reason I do not recommend this pool company. As stated earlier, I have all my phone records and notes of my conversations with Blue Marlin. The calls started in March and to this day in July they still have not come out to fix the problem.

We have been using Blue Marlin Pools because they installed the pool when the house was built. Noticed one evening that the pool was getting a little yellow on the sides with the hot weather so we were going to shock the pool. I went to turn on the system and nothing happened. It was dead, seemed electrical since nothing came on, not even the pool light. I checked the breakers in the garage and the pool box and reset them but still nothing. So the next morning I called Blue Marlin and told the lady the symptoms and that it seemed to be electrical. She put me on hold and when she picked back up she said it will cost $380. I asked her for what, the guy hasn't even come out to see what the problem was. She said $300 for the motor and $80 labor. I told her the motor was only 2 years old and was working fine on Sunday and that the problem seems to be electrical. She said its always the motor. I told her I wanted the guy to call me when he finds out the problem before he replaces anything. Unfortunately I was at work and couldn't be there to see what was really going on. So he calls me and tells me there is no power to the pool box and he needs to check the breaker box in the garage cause he thinks it's just a bad breaker and he will replace it. So I said OK. When I get home from work the bill is in the door and it is for $380. And it states he replaced the breaker and the motor. He did not tell me the motor was bad, he just said it was the breaker. The lady had wrote on the order to replace the motor, so he must have assumed we asked to have it replaced. This is the 5th motor they have "replaced" in the 10 years we have lived here. When I lived in south florida, my motor lasted 8 years. Here they seem to replace it every 2 years. Either they are giving us bad/used motors that don't last or they are replacing working motors just for the money. I mean how can you just say its the motor when you haven't even sent someone out to see what the problem is. And then to replace it anyway when the problem was something else. I feel like they have been scamming me with these motor replacements. Needless to say, I will not be using them again.

We can not say enough good things about Blue Marlin Pools. Chris Foster, worked with us to design and spec the pool. There is no person that we have ever done business with who has been more responsive and informative. He was tremendous. Once we signed our contract, we were given a 3-ring binder with all the information necessary to follow the process and the care of our pool. The only surprise we have experienced is the expertise, the attitude, the timeliness, and quality of every single stage of the process. There has not been one person with Blue Marlin who has not been fantastic to work with. We are so pleased with the entire project and the future of enjoying our pool. When we were kids, there was a song we learned in school named "Just Whistle While You Work" and each time a person or crew came here to work, we would sing the song to ourselves! It was a pleasure to see American workers enjoying what they knew how to do.
We made two changes during the process and Blue Marlin made the effort to make us feel like it was 'no problem'. Great company.

The actual pool is great, however the companies professionalism has been very disappointing. They came out at the beginning and gave us a full estimate of the job. They broke down all the different steps. We had an exsisting fence and they said all they had to do was take it down temporarly and then put it back up afterwards. They recommended a company to do it and we used them. After the pool was completed the fence company came back out to put it up and the man said our fence would not pass insepection because it was 4 inches to short. Blue Marlin Pools had sent out a sales manager at the beginning who went out and had done messurements and estimates of what we thought was of everything. We called the company and the sales manager said he looked at the fence and assumed it was tall enough. Come to find out he never even bothered to messure it in he beginning. He out right admitted it but the owner would not do anything to compensate for the mistake. We now are hit with an extra $3,500 we have to put out that we did not expect. We feel the company is very unprofessional in the way they handled this. They literally just shut the door in our face by saying yes we are sorry for the mistake but there is nothing we can do to help cover the mistake. We used this company because they bosted on being in business for 25 years and being very professional. Well I am sorry but if you are that experienced then I think you should know to measure an existing fence instead of assuming it is code for height. We now wish we used a different company. Two other families in our neighborhood have installed pools at the same time and we wish we had used the companies they did.
