Mark's thorough inspection exposed extensive roof and potential mold problems, as well as a whole host of smaller issues that prevented the home from being move-in ready. Mark's report was extensive, with photos, descriptions and estimated costs of needed repairs and replacements. He took time to talk through the most serious issues with us and was professional throughout the whole process. His good work saved us a great deal of money and future anxiety.

Beware of this GC. He is extremely unethical! I can tell you the reviews on here are obviously by his friends or people he knows, not real customers. My experience was the worst I have had with a company in S Florida in memory. Do yourself a favor and use someone else! My experience is as follows: I was out of town and wanted to have a home I had under contract to buy in Boca inspected and had a limited inspection period. I spoke to Mark on the phone and let him know about the details about the home and that I had a limited inspection period and wanted to be there in person and he said he was available the following Tuesday and I told him that wouldn't work because I am coming from out of town Tuesday night and wanted to be present during the inspection. He then said he could do it Wednesday. I called to confirm the next Monday and he then said Wednesday is booked and it would be Thursday at 10AM instead. I agreed. I went to the property at 10AM on Thursday and waited until about 10:20AM at which time I called him. To my surprise he acted like he didn't know who I was and then hesitated and said "Oh, I inspected that property yesterday" He said he sent a 'confirmation email' (which I didn't receive and it's not called confirmation if you are changing an appointment previously made). I told him I had wanted to be present as I had made clear before and he responded "inspections are not a social type of thing" and if after reading through the report if you have any questions, let me know and I'll come back to walk through with you. I was livid since I had made my trip down from up north only to be present at the inspection of the house which costs in excess of 600k. I looked at the report and many of the pictures were grainy and the descriptions were vague. Some of the numbers did not make sense so I had to call up contractors to essentially do the job I hired this unreliable one man company to do. I emailed and called him to ask questions and take him up on his offer to come to walk through the house and go through the report if it was unclear. He didn't respond to emails nor phone messages after the inspection. (Prior to inspection, he answered his phone every time immediately) I also want to add I am not new to home inspections and have had 3 other home inspections done on homes in the past few years. I own several homes in S Fl and am well versed in home repair etc but wanted to have a qualified GC do the inspection. I have never had problems and everything was smooth in the other inspections so I was pretty surprised at this horrible contractor. Now I see where people in this industry get a bad name. Do yourself a favor and find someone to inspect your properties. It is no small investment and you don't want to have a flaky, unethical low quality contractor play games with you!

All dealings with Mr. Griffith were prompt, courteous, honest, and professional. I had to call Mr. Griffith a few times after the inspection was performed to answer questions or clarification on certain things and he was courteous and explained everything I asked about. I never felt rushed. I appreciate his honesty and accommodation.

We were onsite when Mark did his inspection but we only checked in periodically we were left feeling that the house was going to fall down or at a minimum be a huge money pit. When the final report came it was instead a very thorough and well thought out assessment of the house. It documented everything that was wrong and he provided an estimate of what it would cost to fix it. It has brought great peace of mind and has helped us to negotiate some minor concessions from the seller. In a different situation we would have been getting more. Mark did everything we asked and we feel we are walking into the house knowing what lies ahead - some work but a doable set of work. He found electric, water, appliance, carpenter ant, and moisture issues. We knew the house would have a story but Mark summarized every chapter for us very well.

Mark was very professional and personable! He shared much insight, did a very thorough inspection and a provided a comprehensive report in a very timely manner as I was short of time. I can't say enough good things about Mark and the quality of the work he provides. For starters Mark is a licensed general contractor and brings a wealth of knowledge from being a general contractor to his home inspections. I can't understand why anyone would have a home inspected by someone who isn't a general contractor. Mark is thorough and fully explains everything he sees. I have had a number of homes inspected and I can say that Mark's inspection was detailed, complete and first rate. He caught so many things that I truly believe someone who was not a general contractor would not have caught. Even as he explained everything during the inspection he still took a lot of time afterwards to explain again everything that he saw. Then he followed this up with a phone call the next day to see if I still had any more questions or needed any further explanation. He is a pleasure to work with. I would absolutely use Mark again and very highly recommend him.

First let me say I am a notoriously "hard grader".  I feel way to many people give excellent/outstanding reviews to people merely doing their job.  Mr. Mark Griffith earned this excellent review.  He is extremely knowledgeable, having 35 years experience.  He is professional with excellent people skills.  He points out flaws AND possible remedies.  He is thorough.  Wind mitigation panels were BURIED deep in the garage but Mark wasn't going to inspect this house without getting his hands on those panels.  Good thing to, turns out the panels weren't rated!  He spent multiple hours inspecting the home and then multiple more giving me a very detailed briefing.  He followed it up the next business day with a very professional report, perfectly supplementing his briefing.  
I will recommend  Mark to anyone needing a house inspection.   I would use Mark again, in fact, I can't think of a scenario where I would use anyone BUT Mark if I require these services again.  Highest recommendation.

Mark was wonderful.  He was on time for the appointment and introduced himself in a professional manner.    Marc took his time and did an extremely thorough inspection of my new potential home.  I was with him and he took the time to explain everything he was doing as well as the reason behind it.  After the inspection, Mark was extremely quick to get me the report that was in a professional and easy to understand format.  I received a follow up email thanking me for his service and he provided his number to me for any questions that i may have had. 
I was extremely pleased with Mark and the service he provided.  i would recommend him to anyone looking for a home inspection in the area.

I am still amazed with the experience I had with Mark.  From the intial phone call, quick scheduling, promptness, professionalism & personal communication - it was absolutely OUTSTANDING!!  
Mark does everything he says he will do.. and more.  The listing agent, my realtor & myself all share the same opinion: his attention to every detail, the thoroughness of his work, the equipment he uses, and the time he takes to explain everything he found (good news or not) was just astounding!  
Over 3 hours & no detail escapes his scrutiny.  And his charge for this unsurpassed quality was less than many others I vetted.
I cannot say enough, nor recommend him any higher to perform a home inspection for anyone considering this service.

Great person,  He called me several times after the inspection.  I am putting my home on the market and I wanted 
to have a pre-sale inspection to know what I should repair or replace.  He discovered that my roof was leaking is two areas.
  I was not aware of the leaks so fortunately for me he found them.  He recommended several contractors for me to call for estimates.  Use his services.  He is great.

No complaints.  Inspection was very thorough, Mark provided a lot of great feedback on everything, and he was very polite and patient with all of the questions we had.  I would definitely use him again in the future.

Mark was extremely thorough and professional.  Having used numerous home inspectors, Mark is now at the top of our list.  He was very punctual, explained things as we followed him, and provided a very detailed report with photos within 24 hours.  
Being a licensed General Contractor, Mark really understands what to look for from foundation to roof and can explain "why" things should or shouldn't be.  The Seller's agent was impressed with how much time Mark spent in the attic as that is the source of many issues.
We found Mark on Angie's list and although he is new on this site we decided to try him because of his GC experience and how knowledgeable he was when we contacted him.  We couldn't have been more pleased and highly recommend him for any home inspection needs you have!

Mark was able to give me an appointment within 2 day, we were so very excited to get on with the inspections process. We walked though each step of the inspections process. Mark was able to explain that things I was concerned about were not a big issue but there were other issues he came up with that I needed to address. He took photo's and made lots of notes which he prepared into a report for me which he had ready within a few days. Mark was very professional, patient and through. I am sure I will be using his services in the future as a general contractor because I feel a good level of trust with his knowledge and understand of construction. It went extremely well!  Mark arrived a few minutes early,( which was a nice surprise),  explained how the inspection was going to run, what he was going to look for and then got started.  Every once in a while he would point out areas of concern or things I should be aware of, like where the main shut off valve is for the water ( I wouldn't have had a clue).
At the end of a very thorough inspection he reviewed all of the items  in the home that would require repair and even told me about some preventative things I could do to keep the house in shape.  His explanation of the wind mitigation report for my homeowner's insurance was really helpful.  He suggested a few things I could do to lower my insurance.
     The 20 page report was emailed to me within 24 hours, complete with photos showing what needed to be repaired and where.  He even sent me a  work scope sheet that estimated how much each repair would be.  
     Mark was thorough, efficient, helpful?.I would definitely use him again!
    

Not only was Mark Griffith extremely thorough, because he is also a General Contractor, he gave me helpful advice on things to fix/repair in my home and what to do cosmetically to get the home ready for sale so I could get the best price.  Mark is knowledgeable and professional and I will recommend his services to anyone looking for not only a home inspector, but a general contractor as well.
