The Grout Doctor

Daron returned my call in a couple of hours, came out same day for inspection, recommendation and remediation plan/quote. Came out a couple days later on a Sat. after a drying period. Came on time at 9:30AM and got to work...was here for around 5 hours with his helper/son and shower came out beautiful...I do not have a before picture, but d*** it is pretty to look at...will see how it looks after first shower in there after a few days of drying. Thanks!

Nice guys, but they did a rush job, cut corners and it did not come out that great.

Daron and Robbie did a great job. They showed up on time, worked straight through for three hours, removing and replacing six ceramic tiles and filling and sealing cracks in three others. The tiles look perfectly matched with original tile--level and evenly spaced. They cleaned as the worked; minimal dust throughout kitchen. They were also professional and courteous. I would definitely hire them again.

To begin with, the franchise I called had apparently been turned over or bought, and Brian Hutchinson was no longer the owner. The person that came to my home was Daron Ward. The reviews on Angie’s List for Brian Hutchinson were excellent, which is why I called that number. When Ward came he was cordial, punctual and seemed professional. When he finished the cleaning and sealing of the grout he indicated that after it dried it would lighten in color. The color never lightened, it was essentially the same as before he did the job. The Grout Doctor website reflected what the after should look like. The job he did looked like the before picture, and bordered on false advertising. He came back when I called him. I showed him what the website reflected and asked him how he was going to fix it. He indicated that he didn’t like my attitude and he left. I was indeed upset when he came back as it job he did reflected virtually no difference. As an FYI he did approximately 327 sq. ft. in about 1 ½ hours. That in and of itself suggests that the job he did or tried to do was monumentally lacking! I learned from this experience that with these franchise businesses, you need to ensure that the reviews on Angie’s List are for the same person or persons that the reviews relate.

Brian Hutchinson, the owner, was prompt in returning my initial call and setting up an appointment for a free estimate. He was exactly on time for the estimate and was well prepared to measure and consult on work performed. He wrote up the estimate and we scheduled the work. There is no deposit and they take cash, checks, and credit cards.  Brian advised it would take one person two scheduled days of work to clean and stain about 965 square feet, and he agreed to start a little later in the morning so I could have time to get home from a few hours of work  On the day of the work, Brian showed up on time again, along with Todd, his technician/employee who would do the work. Brian left Todd and he worked a full 5 hours on one day and 4 the next. This is extremely h****** the knees and back and I'd not expect or want them to do more, especially when you start to tire you're just not as good.  Out of all the tiled areas, I felt half really needed it. That is, we have used this service before 5-6 years ago and the sealant last about that long before it doesn't clean up anymore. So we felt some areas still looked pretty good.  However, when Todd finished up, it was clear the whole floor (even areas that already looked clean) needed it after all. So we are again glad we had ALL the tile done and I recommend the same.  As they did 10 years ago when we had the house built and 6 years ago when Brian and his team cleaned/stained our tile grout, the floors look brand new again.  So we'll be calling The Grout Doctor back again in about 5-6 years. The pictures on their website must be for real!

Brian Hutchinson, the owner, and his employee were on time, did the work over two days, and our floors looked better than brand new when they were finished. They do this the old fashioned way (the only really right way), by scrubbing with brushes on their hands and knees one section at a time When it's dry, they seal it using a colored stain/sealer that matched our grout perfectly. This was a two day job...so that alone tells you it's hard work. Other companies bring in big machines, sloshing and slamming, and they're out in no time and sometimes it's hard to tell they cleaned. Not with The Grout Doctor. What was also nice is the sealer lasted several years, I was able to clean it myself for the next five years with little effort. But it's been six years, and when Brian came by for the estimate he remembered doing the work here himself, and even had the last invoice. So he's going to do the same work again in a few weeks for the same price he did six years ago. Outstanding all around. The results are well worth the cost.

The spare bathroom in my house had been neglected and I had not realized how bad it had gotten until I was forced to use it. It is the kids bathroom so I rarely go in there and was repuled by the condition of the caul around the tub as we well as the groupt. YUCK!!!
I called the Grout Doctor at the recommendation of a plumber I used from Angie's List. He had used the Grout Doctor in his bathroom as was very happy with the results.
I called Brian for a consult. He was very punctual and gave me a fair estimate and explained the process. I accepted and we set up an appointment for the same week. I have to admit being skeptical that such results could be achieved in less than 4 hours.
The Grout Doctor arrived on time and more than delivered on all promises. the tub area trul looks like the day I moved into the brand new house. AMAZING
I can not wait to have the master bath done.

It was a pleasure having Brian do this work. He was punctual, professional and an all around nice guy.
I have ferrets that were temporarily in their cage when one escaped. He went to check on Brian.
Brian picked him and and calmly brought the escape artist to me.
Great animal lover also.
I would definitely recommend him and hire him again if I needed his services.

Result was good to excellent some stains were resistant otherwise clean and an easy experience.thanks

They did a great job. They arrived on time and completed all job items in a timely manner. They moved furniture and other items as needed and put them back in place when finished. All I needed to do was show them the various areas listed in the quote and they went to work.

They were great. They did an excellent job. The gentleman was very good. He was prompt and on time. The work has held up and we have had no issues. They are the best in their field and the most reasonable for the price.

Overall, we are more than pleased, and we would use the grout dr in the future, and we would definitely recommend them

I purchased a home that had been neglected for many years. The Master Bath Shower was a disaster. The Grout and Caulk was cracked and the tile was discolored. Brian Hutchinson of "The Grout Doctor" arrived at the agreed time. I showed Brian the Master Bath Shower and described what I wanted done. Brian prepared an estimate. Brian started and completed the work as scheduled. I am very pleased with the work that was done. I would use Brian Hutchinson of " The Grout Doctor" again.
