This company is outstanding! The services that he has provided are done and done right! Mr. Skeens is a perfectionist, and it shows. I love my tile throughout my house, and will be calling him back again to add some tile. He tiled my kitchen in Travertine Marble, a tumbled marble back splash, put Saltillo Tile in a bathroom, glass tiles, and ceramic in the Master shower and tub deck. He was always punctual, clean, and ready to work.

He came out promptly to give an estimate. We scheduled him to perform the job and he arrived as promised and finished the job quickly and cleanly. Later, when we had a concern, he came out right away and answered all of our questions.

The company was professional, on time, clean, and ready for work. He had minor repairs to do in the main bath where a small leak (turned out to be the glass enclosure) stained the saltilo tile there. He immediately cleaned, and restored it to its original look. The Master bath had a sharp edge on a corner of the tub decking, that I had overlooked and he rounded it so that my grandchild couldn't fall into it and get hurt and also checked the master shower tiles where a small leak had begun. He ended up caulking the glass enclosure in that area...and it has not leaked since. The main work was performed in 2006 -07 during a huge remodel, and he said that he stands behind his work...He charged a small service call and nothing for the time...That's my kind of company. I highly recommend him!

The overall experience was good. I wasn't too happy with the longevity of the service. They sealed the brick patio and it's starting to show some ware and tare and it's only been a year and a half.

I was happy with this compoany's performance. They stood by their product and when the first application failed they came back and redid the whole thing. It took three days to completely finish, but they protected all my florring and put up plastic to portect the rest of the house. They could have done a little bit better at cleaning up the surfaces, but overall It was a good experience.

There was nothing wrong with the work they did. He came when he said he would come. He didn't start early in the morning. He started at about 10:00, but that was his work schedule.

Conrad Skeens is not a tile setter. He is an artist and a friend. I know, sounds cheesy, but it’s true.

We have been burned by so many people in various parts of this project, but Conrad was sort of our knight in shining armor. We purchased tile from our designer and had paid a contractor to prep the structure and set the tile. Mid-way through the project, he quit and admitted that the project was too difficult and that he couldn’t do the vertical application that we were looking for. We interviewed many people to finish the project, but no one wanted to take it on. Everyone said it was too difficult or impossible.

Then came Conrad.

We had close to given up, but he came in with his enthusiasm, passion, and expertise in tile setting that was just contagious. For the first time in the project, we were actually excited to continue. Even though he couldn’t start right away (he had other projects lined up), we knew he would be worth the wait. He always thought outside the box to design and create something that we would’ve never thought about and frankly that our designer wasn’t creative enough to think about. Most tile setters do as they are told. But Conrad is not like most tile setters. He’s always thinking and creating and his passion for what he does is obvious.

He took a job that others said was impossible, made it even more difficult (proposing 45 degree angle corners and a media cabinet made completely out of tile), and did a fabulous job at it. Everyone said he was crazy and we were doubtful at times, but the end product is truly art. You walk into the room and it actually takes your breath away. It is the centerpiece of our room and possibly our house. I stood there for hours yesterday just looking at it and smiling. When was the last time TILE of all things took your breath away and made you smile for hours on end?

Honestly, I never say this, but I wish we could’ve paid him a lot more for what he did. If we weren’t so screwed over by other people (not related to Conrad) in the project who ripped us off in so many ways, we probably would have had money left over in the project to do so. But, if we hadn’t been screwed over, we would’ve never met Conrad, so we are happy with the way everything worked out. Even now, I find myself looking around the house trying to find things for Conrad to work on so that we can see him and work with him again.

Now, if that's not the sign of a good contractor, I don't know what is.

Conrad was amazing! He helped us with everything we needed, some help didn't even involved tiling! He stopped back by after the work was completed to make sure we were happy! We will most definitely used techno tile again! He's a tad expensive but he knows what he's doing and does it right with no shortcuts! He was worth every dime!

This gentleman (and he is one) is with reason and deservedly No. 1 on Angie's List for his category. I have never had such a professional, qualified person in my home to do a service. He started on time, was unbelievably neat, tidy, did what he said he was going to do and more. Honestly, as my British and Aussie friends would say, I was gobsmacked at how good he is at his profession, and how much he truly truly cares about what he does. He takes real pride in his work and will not give you a shoddy or half done job. Dealing with Techno-Tile was seeing a real Old World master at work. Wonderful experience.

Conrad is a great tile setter. He took the time to prep the walls properly before laying the tile. He also got us a discount on the tile and picked it up himself. The overall product looks great and we have no complaints.

It went very well overall in terms of Conrad's work. He was very responsive and accommodating in coming out twice to measure and discuss design before and after I chose my tile. He was very responsive to taking phone calls when I had questions or scheduling issues, always pleasant, warm, patient and humorous. (I must disclose that I know his wife as we work in the same facility, but did not know Conrad did tiling until I found him on Angie's List.) There was one communication issue that delayed one of those visits but this wasn't a major issue. There were problems with his preferred tile vendor, involving backordered/delayed tile shipment that set back the work a good 4 months, but once everything came in, his portion of the work went smoothly and he finished ahead of schedule. I was impressed with his artistry and attention to detail. He clearly enjoys his work. I wanted part of the stall walls to have diagonally placed tile but since I wanted built-in shelves, diagonal tiles posed a challenge. He literally slept on the problem and came back with a creative solution--a row of triangles partway up the wall, effectively breaking up the space very nicely. Conrad was prompt in arriving for work, and very sensitive to the fact that he was arriving often before I was completely ready to leave for work; he would enter through the garage and knock before coming into the house. He was quite neat, covering the entire length of his path through the house to limit dirtying the carpet. He attempted to cover some of the areas in my tightly-packed garage to protect them from the considerable but unavoidable dust that he generated from tile cutting. He closed up and set the alarm every day before leaving at the end of the day. I am very pleased and will ask him to do at least another bathroom floor in the future. Friends and neighbors who have seen my bathroom are wanting to hire him.

I called Conrad because of his rating on Angie's list for an estimate on tile work for my laundry room and bath. This is only the 2nd time I have had tile installed and the first to use an Angie's list professional. What a fantastic experience. Conrad came over and gave me an estimate as well as pictures from previous work he had done. What an exceptional professional. He made a lot of great suggestions and upon completion of the work they were all fantastic! He and his son are professional, polite, punctual and their work shows it! I couldn't even tell they had been here after they left except for the fantastic tile!

Got Conrad's name from Angie's List, he had rave reviews and I can see why. He came within a couple of days of my call, gave me a free estimate. His quote was for labor only, he doesn't try to make additional money on the materials. He gave me a list of the materials we would need and how much of each, and where to buy them (Home Improvement Store, no specialty store that would cost more). He recommended a treatment of the concrete slab that would seal the cracks, and prevent mold and mildew, and gave us the option of him doing it, or doing it ourselves to save money (we had him do it since he knows what he's doing). When I told him where I was buying my tile, he was concerned because he had installed tile from this particular store before, and the quality was not good. He told me to be sure that I got the same "dye lot", which I was assured would be the case when I purchased it. I was going to pick the tile up myself, but when Conrad called to verify his start date, he offered to pick it up. I am so grateful that he did that, because not only did the store try to stick us with 3 different dye lots, there were also 2 boxes of broken tiles hidden on the pallet. He didn't leave the store until he had all of the same dye lot and all unbroken tiles. The first day he applied the special concrete treatment which had to cure overnight. The next day he laid all but one row of tile (300 sf). He had to make special cuts to accommodate some drain holes where the birdcage met the concrete, and he did them with precision (there must have been 10 or 12). My particular tile actually had a pattern in it that looked like brick, with gray "grout lines" actually in the tile. Conrad actually matched those grout lines without using spacers. When you look at the patio, it actually looks like pavers, you can't tell the grout lines from the pattern of the tile. He also had to "build up" some low areas in the concrete, apparently the slab had a bit of a "dip" in the center. He finished the job on the 3rd day, and had completely cleaned the tile to perfection. He left his work area spotless and put the remaining materials in my garage so that they could be returned to the store for a refund (he overestimated just one extra bag of grout and one bag of mastic, just enough to be safe rather than having to run out for more). I just wish I had more jobs to give him, he was awesome! I actually paid him a bit extra for his special "pick up" service on my tile, I hope those of you who use him will do the same as he has a very generous spirit and didn't expect anything for his extra service.

Conrad has a great sense of humor and is also a family man. On certain days his 16 year old daughter would accompany him and help him on our job. Conrad goes the extra mile including getting up off the floor and going to the garage to help my wife unload groceries when he saw her bringing them in by herself. We waited three weeks for him to become available to do our job, but knowing what I know now, I would even wait three months if I had to. Conrad is one of the few people left in the service industry that gives you more than what you expect, including excellent design ideas and helping my wife create a mosaic around our fireplace. My wife and I are very happy and satisfied with Conrad's dedication to excellence, and can definitely say that I would never use anyone else for tile work.

I had a leak in my bathroom and the water went under the wood flooring and so I replaced approx 760 sq ft with porcelain tile. I was referred to Willie's flooring and he came in and did one room ( 100 sq ft ) and then never came back. So I joined Angie's list and found Conrad. He came that Friday and started the following Monday. It was great because our house had already been torn up for a few weeks. Conrad is a really good honest friendly guy that is a great certified tile layer. He cleaned up every day and was extremely professional. He charged us a fair price for top of the line workmanship. I already have another quote for him to come in and lay some more tile. I had a potential buyer for the house and they came in and wanted to know where I got the tile and the name of who layed the tile. So I am sure he is a really busy guy.

He is fabulous and does absolutely outstanding work. He helped me with the design and laid the tile out. I can't say enough about him. I was shocked by the quality of his work. He is able to look at the space and just create what would work best there. He was able to use some of my leftover tile and framed it, and I have had more comments on that bathroom than I expected. He is very exact, and precise in his work. His prices are mid-range, but his work far surpassed other I had seen. He was referred to me, and I am so grateful to have found him. He is extremely accommodating, and he is just the nicest and most polite man. I have been very happy with him.

I found Conrad on Angie's List and was impressed with the positive comments. I called him and thought I had more square feet that I did and he promptly corrected my overestimate. He charged a reasonable price and just a little more for the pattern I wanted (used 18"; 12" and 6" floor tile). I had someone else remove my old tile first. Conrad spent a lot of time leveling the floor and is quite the perfectionist. He did a beautiful job and I just love the pattern. He cleaned up after he was finished and was very patient with me as I asked numerous questions.

Our living room is a carpeted island in a sea of tile. We were continually walking over the outer corners of the carpet, and I wanted to add two tiles to each corner(slightly reducing the size of the carpeted area)so that the shape of the carpet fit the natural traffic pattern and we would stop wearing out the corners of the carpet. This required taking out some of the existing tile and using spare tiles to re-tile the small areas. We also had to match the grout. Conrad and his apprentice did an amazing job. I chose Techno Tile due to all the positive reports here on Angie's List, and was not disappointed. Yes, Conrad is a character. He does amazing work. Hire him. We did the work in August of 2007 and it has stood the test of time and traffic. The grout matches so well that you can't even tell work was done.
