Outdoor impressions meet with us a couple of times, obtained GIS information about our property, and created an overlay of the design, along with the drawing plans of our property we provided to them. They provided us with a rendered computer design, we could use to gain HOA approval of our project.
The workers showed up on time, were careful, meticulous and polite. They worked for a couple of days carefully removing a large Pygmy date palm tree that was meant to be replanted elsewhere and were not disruptive to other neighbors who live in our gated community.
The workers drew a carefully designed slope so water would flow down to driveway and wouldn't create puddles after the deluges we get in Tampa during the rainy months. The pavers perfectly matched the rest of the driveway; they completed the work right on schedule and cleaned everything outside, after they were done. We were very satisfied with their work.
Salesperson must be related to the owner as there's no way that he should be employed in any industry that involves basic human communication.
Positive aspect was that they did seal all of the paver work without charge as they refused to show up and finish certain aspects of the job.
I wouldn't recommend this company, or at least the branch in Brandon, to anyone. The experience that I had was indicative of the services provided during the housing bubble of 2005. Essentially fly-by-night.
I will say that the crews from South and Central America were great. If there was only a way to get these craftsman without the incompetent management....
If you do use this company watch them very closely and ensure that you're getting what you paid for. It's would be smart to also know what and quot;right looks likeand quot; so you know if they're taking short cuts because these guys certainly will.
All personnel were very professional and polite. Project Manager responded quickly to all of my phone calls and emails. Job completed earlier than expected.
Very happy with the end result!!!!!!!!! I would definitely use this company again. The work crew was very courious and hard working and Alan the supervisor was great at communicating and lettting me know what was going on. We had a minor communication issue with the work crew on the complete removal of all the concrete for the patio. This was because the previous owner of my house had concrete poured over the old slab and it was going to be below grade. Alan made sure the work was done as promised and the crew was great at assisting in getting the trench for the electrical conduit for the spa dug which was not part of their work.
If I had anything to pick on was that some workers did not pick up after themselves and I had to pick up some trash. I did communicate this with Alan and he made sure they did in the future. I had a great experience, the final product is fantastic and I will definitely recommend them to others. Many thanks to Andy, Alan and the work crew at Outdoor Impressions.
"This client has a few facts misunderstood. He is correct about the water feature needing to be repaired due to a flow pattern. However it was not even given a chance for us to repair. AFTER we applied sealer he then proceeded to tell us that he paid a separate company to fix the issue. (around 600.00)Then he neglected to pay us the balance on the sealer for approx. 1200.00. When I (Jason) spoke with him about this and asked why we were not given the chance to fix the water feature, We were told that the "pool company" was able to respond faster and it would be considered as "wash" for the remaining balance. He said the rest of the balance was for the aggravation it caused him. Although I did not like that outcome I respected the fact that we did make a mistake and He needed it fixed faster than we could respond. So I "zeroed" out His balance and we parted ways.... Almost two years later we were contacted about some broken coping pieces that cracked due to settling issues, and the client even asked how much they cost? So he could pay for the pieces and his pool company could fix the problem. After our Office manager ordered samples for this client he told us the samples did not match... Which we understood. Then it turned into a "coping Issue" that suddenly became a "warranty issue. So our Project manager went out and looked at the issue. It was his professional opinion that it was not a warranty item, that the separation was actually caused by the pool shelf settling. So we proceeded to have our paver company send a rep out to look as well. She came to the same conclusion. The Client then said "please just order the coping and I will have someone else do the work. So we did. Now to His defense this did take much longer than we expected. Some on our behalf and some on the paver company. However the pieces did come in to our showroom and the client did show up unannounced one Saturday afternoon and asked " whats the deal, when can you do this or can you do this?, I need it done ASAP". I then told him we could do it but it would not be the next week. that did not work within the timeframe he wanted. So, he then said well just give me the pieces and I will hire someone else to do it. The reason he cant find anyone to fix it, is because they know its not a coping issue. Its going to happen again. Its a pool warranty issue. Thin pavers are an overlay system, no where does it say it will prevent settling issues. And I personally was the one at the showroom that day and did not intend on "not helping load the coping that we gave him for free. I had a client already in the showroom and did not get the idea that he needed help loading up.(Sorry about that) I personally feel bad about any miscomunication we as a company had with this client. It was not my intent to "dishonor any warranty" In fact I didn't even bring up the fact that I felt he voided our warranty by not paying the final invoice amount after he hired a separate contractor to fix the water feature two years ago without letting us know. I appreciate his honesty and IN NO WAY trying to pass off all the blame back on this client. We as a company DID NOT respond to his concerns as fast as we should have. I would be happy to this day (July 5 2011) to talk with the client regarding what he feels is and is not WARRANTY issues. And we as a company WILL gladly repair anything that falls within the scope of our workmanship. - Jason Smith President Outdoor Impressions Pavers LLC."
