Joe's Screens & More

Contracted in June 2015 to start in December. Estimate went great and Joe had a handle on what I wanted. Communication was spotty. I was delayed in December but made arrangements for contractor to have access to lanai.
He subcontracted the project to another individual who really had no idea what he was doing. This sub removed all interior panels and threw most away. He replaced the windows (great windows) and door (great door). However, he removed all exterior trim and threw it away. He added three pieces of foam insulation. Then the subcontractor left the area for family problems.
So, I'm stuck with a lanai with the interior removed and my wiring coiled up and shoved down the wall. Joe called me today and we both agreed I should try to find someone else to finish the project.
He's not sure about a partial refund for the $2800 I fronted since the subcontractor was given full responsibility. I'm pretty sure that's the last I'll hear from them.
I certainly can't recommend him for a project like this though replacing one window may be a more successful project.

Update. We have ended our relationship. I have no problem with the way he handled that. I received an itemized list of services that came to quite a bit more than my down payment. He waived the extra amount to make up for my headache. I have found another contractor to finish the job.

My wife and I were extremely happy with our experience with Joe's Screens.  The owner, Joe Casto, retuned my call promptly in the evening after I called him late in the business day.  He went out of his way to go see our property and provide photos to document the condition of the screens.  Mr. Casto then provided a reasonable quote the next day and we contracted Mr. Castro do perform the work.  He coordinated the work with our tenant to make sure she was not surprised by a strange man performing work at the condo.  The work was completed within 2 days.  Mr. Castro also provided us with photos to show the completed work.  We confirmed the work with our tenant and she was very happy.  



My wife and I then decided to ask Mr. Casto for an estimate to rescreen the outdoor lanai.  Again, he promptly looked at the work to be completed and then provided us with a quote and pictures that night.  We contracted him to perform the work which was completed within a day.  Again, results were excellent.



I cannot say enough about Mr. Castro's professionalism and promptness regarding quotes and completion of the work.  He kept us appraised of the work and coordinated all visits with our tenant. 



We were extremely pleased with Joe's Screens and would highly recommend them to perform work.

He performed a lot of work for the amoutn I paid for, he he ordered the parts and came back the next day and put them in. He is great, professional and timely.

Joe was friendly and kind. He worked on the premises and did a great job. A different contractor started the job and didn't measure the screens correctly. Joe made all the screens to fit our windows and installed them perfectly. We highly recommend his service!

We decided to screen our back porch area in our new home. We called Joe, he came out measured and gave us an estimate of the cost. Within a week we had a screened in porch with a doggie door installed.
The second time we called him because one of our window broke(could not raise the window). He came out and repaired the window the next day.
