CONVERGING TECHNOLOGIES

I am installing cabinets in the sunroom and wanted to have AV equipment in those cabinets away from the living room where the TV and speakers are going to be, to free up space. This required structured wiring. Wade for very qucik to respond to my request for a quote for the job. I had gotten quotes from 5 other companies and his was most economical. He was available by phone and proceeded with the project on time. There were some delays from unforseen firewalls in the house, and he had to make more holes in the walls than I would have liked. However the new cabinetry will be covering these holes so I was not so upset. He brought in all material and tools including wires, and racetrac to hide the external cabling. I also hired him to install custom in ceiling speakers. There are cheaper alternatives out there, but given audio quality limitations I asked him to find me suitable speakers. I think the overall workmanship inside the house was neat and excellent. The external work could have been little bit better where the wires could have been hidden better. I think the the heavy rains made it difficult to achieve this. The external of the house is white and there were some scuff marks on the hardiboard which may have been avoidable. He works alone at present (he had to let go of some of his crew with the economy) but quick and wastes no time. He charges by the hour but does bundle services that makes it affordable. Since he doesn't have his own electrician and dry wall specialist (nowadays most don't), I will have to call them in later to patch up dry wall and place new electrical outlets and surge protectors, which means additional cost. However, the other companies charge separately for this work anyway even if they do everything. Pros: Cost effective, efficient, honest, on time, friendly Cons: As noted above in commentry. Make your own judgement. I havent installed the wall TV yet, so I havent heard the quality of the speakers and cannot comment on placement and integrity of the wires (could have been damaged during wiring). However, I will be calling Wade back for the installation of AV equipment, IR/RF universal remote etc, and so at that time he said he would ensure everyting was perfect.
