The original roof was not of the quality they advertised to me. I filed a complaint, which got the owners attention. He came out and oversaw a work crew and made all of the changes I asked him to make including replacing the rotten wood that was overlooked originally. He also guaranteed that he would come back to fix any issues that might arise. He seemed eager to make this right. I'm happy that he came to remedy the situation. I wish it had been done right initially because that's what I paid for.

When the old roof shingles were removed, rafter damage was found. The workers called the owner, Richard. Richard came to the house to discuss the additional work needed. Richard assured me the work could be completed the same day even if he had to send out more guys to finish the job. He invited me on the roof to see first-hand the additional work required. He said if I couldn't get on the roof, he could take pictures to show me. I did go on the roof and Richard explain the work and answered all my questions. The final cost was less than he originally quoted to me. I rated the price fair because $3000 for such a small area of repair seems expensive to me but I think I would have paid this price for any reputable roofer I chose. We have not had any additional leaks in that area of the roof.

They didn't repair one piece of wood that is by the attic crawlspace. I am working on getting this fixed with them but they left without bringing it to my attention. They put up the aluminum soffit covers and they were dirty, I would've liked a chance to clean them. They did a great job with the wood repair. I would give an A for the wood repair and the roof. The dimensional roof is beautiful and the woodwork looks great. I would give a C- for the piece of wood that wasn't repaired and I've found a ton of nails in my yard. The clean up appears to be an issue though, I've gotten a nail stuck in my shoe in my yard. Some of the nails are in the garden area so it would be easy to stick your hand or knee when gardening. They also left some old nails on the roof over the garage.
The air conditioning units outside were not covered on top when they pulled the old roofing off and nails went inside the slots above the metal fan blades. You can see the nail and any major type of wind can place the nail into the blade turning area to destroy the AC.

"I am writing to you in reference to the complaint from [member name removed]. [member name removed] states that there is a piece of wood by the attic crawl space that we did not repair. The piece of wood that she is speaking of is under the roof deck and unless we removed the roof decking we would have no idea that there is a problem. She was very happy with all of the wood repairs that we did. The aluminum soffit that we put up was not part of the work that we were doing and I offered to do it for her without charging her for it. She was standing there the entire time that we were installing the soffit and if she wanted to clean it all she had to do was say something. I was standing next to her the entire time that the work was being done and she was very happy that we were putting the soffit back up for her. [member name removed] is requesting that we replace her rafter at our cost. First of all we are not licensed to replace a rafter. We can repair it, and we do not have any problem with repairing it but we will not do it for free. She is requesting that we clean her soffits. The soffits were not part of the roof contract and we were putting them back up for here to be nice. Our company has never cleaned soffits and is not part of the work that we do. [member name removed] is requesting that we patch her garage roof for free. Her garage is a freestanding structure that we did not do any work on and I do not understand why she wants us to do work on her house for free that we had nothing to do with. We went through her yard over a dozen times with a three foot magnet and if she had nails in her yard that we missed I would be glad to come back and make sure that we pick up any remaining nails. I have called [member name removed] 15-20 times a day and her phone is always busy. I have stopped by her house on six (6) separate occasions and she has never been home. I have left notes on her door to call me and have not received a return phone call. There is a balance due of $756.00 on the work that was done and [member name removed] stated that we would be pain within a few days. That was several weeks ago and we still have not received payment."

Estimate process was timely and professional. Workers arrived on time and were professional. Then, about a month later an area had to be re-repaired. It took several calls and weeks to get them back out to re-repair the leak (which had gotten much worse). Now, 4 months later, two close-by areas are leaking... It took them several calls and weeks to come back out.... Now, today, they tell me that it is two new areas leaking for incremental expense... Assuming this is true, they could have come to see the roof on a much more timely basis and told me this several weeks ago, rather than delaying for several weeks and more rainstorms, and more ceiling repairs. Ugh!

All 3 of them were great. I remember Porter said, he email me 3 different estimates and I really like that because he charged you different qualities of work, they could do warranties and materials. And I know that Westfall had a really great sale that was just going beyond the call of beauty answering questions and everything like that. I do not know but I like them a lot. I think I like Westfall better because they gave me for sure smooth out, things like that and they were a little less expensive. All 3 were very good in their estimates. They gave me a real breakdown of everything, and I have an email copy of everything.

Salesman Louis was young but mature. Examined the roof and explained everything that would occur. Owner Richard came to the jobsite when the work began. Workers seemed to know what they were doing. When they tore off the old shingles there was more damaged wood than originally thought. Made all repairs. Entire job was completed in a day. Very satisfied with everything.

Mr. Richard Levy has been the most professional contractor I've ever dealt with. His people are not subcontractors they work for him exclusively. When he sent his inspector for my initial assessment not only did the gentleman (Matt) do a thorough job, he also discovered an air duct hole which he brought to my attention. I was in New York during this time and there was constant communication between Mr. Levy, Matt and myself. Mr. Levy and his crew were a Godsend and I would not hesitate to recommend them. After the initial estimate other issues were found and the additional charge was very fair. Pictures of all work were submitted before, during and after.

They answered the phone on a long weekend to set up for the estimate, that surprised me. Louis came to our home twice to set up the service and give us time to see the samples of the product and make our final choice. On the date of service they arrived promptly at 7 am and worked all day non stop. They cleaned the old roof and prepped the roof for the shingles. They cleaned all the areas each day and left everything undisturbed. The work took 2 days to complete. On the second day they made additional repairs to the facia and subfacia of the porch, towards the garage that was really rotted. The additional costs on materials and labor were discussed and the price was reasonable for the work needed. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable and made us feel comfortable with all the processes. We would highly recommend them.

First, I was given an and quot;incorrectand quot; estimate, at $7,045 which they decided to honor since it was already on the contract. I was then told that the new wood for my roof equaled over $4,000 but that I was only being charged for $2800 of it. I ended up paying $9,845. I was skeptical about that amount and had to later ask for the pictures of the wood that the roofers were supposed to show me along the way. I did finally receive those. I was told that my chimney would no longer leak from the rain after the roofing job. Lo and behold the first rainstorm after I got my new roof brought me a nice sized puddle in my fireplace. I called to let them know there was an issue and they promised me that it would be fixed right away. Here I am almost a month later and every single time it rains I have a puddle in my fireplace. I feel like I might have been taken advantage of once they found out I don't have a husband to make the calls. In the future I will ask a male friend to be a stand in.

I contacted All star roofing and initially spoke to Louis. He gave me a good estimate and was very professional and prompt on the appointment. Then, I had the privilege to talk to Richard the owner's husband. His desire to do the job right was amazing. He has fantastic business communication skills. He texted me several pictures of the problem with the roof and what it would need to fix the job right the first time. He even gave me a 5 year warranty on the repairs; unmatched in Tampa. Allstar roofing met my expectations and then some. The final price was higher then the estimate but Richard found more extensive roof damage then what initial estimate called for and I gladly paid the additional amount. I recommend Allstar roofing very highly.

My primary interface was Richard Levy. The guy is a rarity in today's service sector. He was very responsive to my calls and inquiries. He was present when asked and paid close attention to the install. During the install we uncovered some additional issues that were covered by the roof, which was 20 years of water damage on an exterior overhang. Richard made the necessary repairs. During the analysis of the various vendors I made inquiries into the materials being used. AllStar uses premium materials and in the case of the underpayment actually uses double layers of two separate materials. There were a few cosmetic issues with the roof installation but these were due to the original construction of the house and something that could not be corrected without major reconstruction. As a note to others, if you make the decision to switch from one format of tile (barrel to flat) be aware that you may have a similar visual issue. The roof has been on for more than two weeks through some heavy rain. No leaks, and hopefully none to come. Richard stopped by a week after the initial work was done to check up on things.

About 20 minutes later, he knocked on the door and needed access to the rear of the house, I unlocked the gate an dhe measure another area. And then we sat out ion the garage going over the products and estimate.
I was extremely pleased, as he concluded, I was good to go for another year or so, and he gave me recommendations, etc. He wrote up the estimate and said he would honer this, when my settlement was ocmplete. He was extremely knowledgeable and answered all my questions.
I definitely will be using them in the future!!

I spoke with someone and set an appointment for them to come to my home the morning of 3/18 for a new roof estimate. This was the one company out of three that needed me to be home for the estimate. No one ever showed up that morning, however, I never called to find out why. I know that things happen.
