Absolutely terrible . The owner does not stand behind his service and you cannot reason with him because he doesn't know what that means . Speaking with him is like pulling teeth . He's only interested in getting paid . I'm a snow bird and paid his company to do a maintenance check before I leave . I want to make sure the air conditioning is working and I have no issues when I'm gone . The service guy they sent was awful . He spent one minute here and left . It was as if he didn't want to work . When I returned to Florida , my house was stuffy and humid because the air conditioning never came on . They sent another service guy . Perhaps he was friendly but he had no clue what he was doing . Seemed he was an amateur . He came back 3 times before he solved a very simple issue . He was even embarrassed and the whole service process was a joke . The owner Tim sent me a bill for $250. He was charging me for each time his service guy needed to come back . But his service guy had no clue what he was doing and in his book I need to pay for that . He also didn't understand that he needs to stand behind his maintaince service but he was like speaking to a box of rocks . They also have a service guy named Brad that is the rudest , most condescending person I've met . The company knows this but they continue to use him . Thompsons company is like a disfunctional family that has no regard for you as a customer and is drunk with stupidity . Every thing they do just never really works out as it should . I'll never use their business again and will never recommend them . They just don't care . The outcome update : my husband talked to Tim and tryed to reason with him about the bill . Deaf ears for at least 20 minutes going over and over about the issue . Tim said " pay me $100 " I said fine just to hang up the phone with him . My husband felt he didn't deserve a penny and was just a crook but at that point I had enough . I paid him his $100 dollars and finally the nightmare dealing with them is over . Find another provider with better skilled service and quality social skills . Dint stress yourself out dealing with Tompsons air conditioning .

On first service call, technician diagnosed system as having a "cracked drip pan."  Even though this system was covered by a manufacturer's extended warranty (parts and labor), technician told us that labor (~$400) would be our liability.  When this was challenged by me calling the company office, they backed down and agreed that the warranty covered everything.  The technician also stated that the leaking and condensation problem was typical of Trane systems and that his company was not selling them anymore.  He was very critical of the Trane product on several points.  He even showed me a Trane service bulletin, which acknowledged that their units had a moisture problem like we were experiencing.  When I asked "Why didn't you guys tell me this when I bought this system from you?", he shrugged his shoulders.  The technician said he would order the part and reschedule a service call.  The technician had a very casual attitude, and seemed to hate his job.  He acted like he was doing us a favor, instead of fulfilling his company's contractual obligations.
On the second service call, which took 2-3 hours, the technician stated that the problem was fixed, and signed off on the repair.   By the next day, the air handler began dripping water again into the garage.  The provider was called and sent the same technician back, arriving after 4 pm.  When he saw the leak, he stated, "I didn't seal the drip pan system properly.  This time I will let the caulking set until it's dry."  Because he told me it was a two-man job, and that it would take 2-3 hours, I told him this time frame was not convenient and we did not want to have the A/C turned off for that long at this time of day.  He called his office and re-scheduled for the following week.
Meanwhile, after he left, the water leak became worse and we had to put buckets out to catch the drops.  I checked the Trane web site, and could not find Thompson Air Conditioning in Trane's list of authorized dealers, even though the Trane logo is prominently displayed on the Thompson vans.  I left a voicemail with the company later that evening, and the owner called me after we had gone to bed.  Instead of apologizing, he berated me for "disrespecting" his company in my voicemail, and tried to accuse me of not cooperating with his technician.  I decided to sever our relationship with Thompson Air Conditioning at that point, and filed a complaint with Trane on their web site.  I would never use this provider again.

The job went great. It was an emergency call. The air conditioning was not working. It was neither heating nor cooling. They came out a few hours later the same day. The service technician was very professional and he thoroughly checked out the air conditioner. He showed me what I could do next time it happens. Overall it went very well and it only took him an hour.

Tim Thompson, the owner, came to my house to look at the job. We discussed different options and prices and the pros and cons of each. I felt comfortable with his recommendations. He is a hands on owner, and does a lot of the work himself. He also has qualified, friendly personnel working with him. It was a pleasure working with him and his crew.
