TruGreen Lawn Care - 934

Just horrible. Watched on my camera as the tech just pulled up, didn’t spray and then charge me. When I called to cancel I was HARASSED to give them “one more chance”. No thanks, they already lied to me about “hornets” I had. When the tech came out he said they were bees and I needed to hire a bee keeper. They told me that I had the wasp/hornets problem, sold me on a service then charged me after not doing anything. How are they experts if they can’t tell the difference between honey bees and hornets. If you like getting robbed monthly, this is the company for you. If you enjoy just wasting money and having people sit in front of your house doing nothing, then hire trugreen. If you want a good lawn and value your hard earned money, go with another company.

Evidently it didn't turn out too good because they came back two more times in January to fix stuff. They came out and they did the fertilizing and evidently it didn't work because they were back in two weeks to retreat and retreat. They were trying, that's the best part. They were not doing it, that's the worst part. I gave them the benefit of doubt.

There was no charge, it was a followup. I paid on 1st of March for my normal service. They couldn't even fertilize because they said it had a fungus, so you can't put fertilizer on a fungus. They treated it for fungus, but it didn't do anything. They were trying to do something, it just didn't work. They needed a person that knew about plants, I don't think they had anybody that knew anything about plants. Anybody can put down fertilizer. One time I got this black stuff on the leaves of a plant and the guy told me to take soap and water and wash these plants. Can you believe that? I said, "I don't think so. I think that's what I'm paying you to do." It was a fungus and he told me to take soap and water and go wash the plants. That's the kind of people that they had working for them. Could you imagine telling a customer that? The price was fine, I didn't have an argument about the price, ever. That was the only thing about this company that was okay. In March, I was literally threatening them with firing them if they didn't do something. They came out, they did their work, it just didn't work, everything that they started doing was turning into a disaster and I worked with them for several months trying to get this yard straightened back out.

I fired them. We were having a lot of problems. I've got notes and notes and notes about giving them an opportunity that they wanted to fix my yard and I finally got rid of them. I was paying $64 a month. They were supposed to be good and they were not. My yard was not in bad shape when I took them. I've always maintained my yard and they supposedly were using Miracle-Gro products, which was supposed to be the best. That was the main reason that I took them. The price was good. They wouldn't tell you the truth for one thing and I don't think they had a horticulturist that knew about plants. My yard broke out and they said it was a fungus, it nearly killed my whole yard and bushes. I've still got dead bushes that possibly may come back one of these days, I don't know. They turned my yard into an absolute mess. I don't know what they could do, I think whoever runs it, doesn't have a clue about landscaping. When it started off it was fine because my yard was in good shape when I took them. I changed companies and I gave them a chance to do this simply because they used Miracle-Gro products and I thought, "Well, that's great," and that they would fertilize my potted plants at the same time, when my other company would not. Within two months we were having problems with, I am seeing spots in the yard and I'm seeing weeds and I'm seeing plants dying. They kept coming back, they didn't charge me for the come back and spraying fungicide and this thing and that thing, it just kept getting worse and worse and worse until my yard was awful. My last note here is that I gave them till May - that was the cut-off date - to get my yard back because it does take time, once you get something it's not going to fix it overnight. This was March 16th that they had till May. I was on the phone 58 minutes with them, with the head person there and they kept assuring me that they were going to do this and this and this and then one time they made an appointment with a horticulturist to come out and never showed up, never called, never showed up and I said, "No more." So, I would never recommend them, never. I wasn't upset about the pricing. They did respond, sort of.

They will call and make sure that I will be home at a certain time. The service has been excellent and my lawn looks great. I have used them for seven years now. The service provider that they send will ask before doing any work and he asks questions on the lawn to see if anything is out of the ordinary.

So far, it's been really good. They've helped me out because I've had different mixtures of grass and it wasn't blending very well.  He was able to get it blended together without ripping up the whole lawn.  It was very easy and effective.
