Decorative Concrete Specialist of South Floida

Horrible! Absolutely no communication. We would call the owner, George, for information and he would tell us that he needs to find out and call us back. He would never call back. He subbed the job out to someone else. That was a joke. It took a week to get the fence ready to pass a failed inspection. They had no idea of the necessary codes or how to fix the gate issue to pass the inspection. We ended up telling them how to remedy the issue. Once the job was completed prior to passing inspection, George was immediately calling for final payment. How ironic that we didn’t hear from him the whole 3 weeks it took to complete a 3 day job but once it was finished he wanted his money. We would not pay the balance until it passed inspection. Which did nothing but anger him and he ended up hanging up on us when we told him this. I would never recommend this company to anyone.

Mr. Mercado ensured us the way he does driveways and the materials he uses driveway will not crack.   Once completed we saw cracks coming 2 weeks later in the expansion space lines across the width of driveway and called him.   These expansion  space lines are on the original cement driveway to allow for expansion (all driveways have them)  and we were surprised he had filled them in with grout.  He came and said his men should not have filled these lines in and all he could do was remove the grout. so he dug them out himself there and then and it looks terrible and now all crumbling and cracking in these lines which effects the look of the driveway.
Couple months later hairline cracks all throughout the entire driveway started coming.  We called and Mr. Mercado refused to come back.   Today 1 year later our driveway looks terrible and full of  cracks.   This is really brought to my attention now as 2 of my neighbors just had Sundeck do their driveways same type of process HOWEVER they knew enough not to fill in the expansion cracks (big difference between way my expansion tracks look vs. theirs) AND very obvious Sundeck's layers are much more thicker than ours.  One Sundeck job in my neighborhood done same time as mine not a single crack!     I am full of them ......
You can see with the naked eye how much thicker Sundeck's finish is than mine.  Appears there was scrimping done on my driveway.    
  I would never recommend Decorative Concrete Specialist ... very poor service and refused to come back only months after the job to address the cracking not to mention ruined  the look from the start by incorrectly grouting the expansion lines.   Compared to other driveways in the neighborhood ours looks the worse.
