Rake Painting

There were multiple problems with this provider. Keith charged me $870 for all the painting and spent about 5 hours first day and about 5 and a half hours next day working on my projects. For the money I paid I didn't get the quality I expected. 1. He leaves cans and buckets with paint open even if he goes out. I commented to him that it dries the paint and bits of dried paint would end up on the walls. He pointed to me that he has been painting for 20 years and knows what he is doing. Sure enough, soon I started picking out bits of dry paint and also lint from his roller on still wet walls, which would come off immediately indicating they were not on the wall before him. He blamed that some things were on the walls before him and I told him that if something was there before him and in important spot, and he truly cared for his customers, and for the money I paid him, I'd expect him to come to me and ask me if I wanted that fixed for an extra pay and I'd pay him extra. 2. Another thing, he said he rolls first, then cuts around the corners. I asked, wouldn't the strokes from the brush show then. He assured me that I wouldn't see any marks from the brush. Sure enough, the marks from the brush were all there. When I said that to fix the brush stroke marks in one particular area, he would need to feel the space between ridges of the marks from the brush with spackling first. He ignored what I said and just applied another coat of paint there, which sure enough did nothing to fix the problem. He went with a roller over another area with marks from the brush and left the marks from the roller this time because didn't use enough paint, and this was semi-gloss paint. 3. Also, he was not reachable by phone or text. The bottom line is, this provider did not deliver quality painting in many areas. To be fair, I will say, the exterior of the front door was painted well, and I liked that he took time to remove two kitchen cabinet doors off to paint near them.
