STUART ROOF REPAIR

Approximately one year ago, we hired a screening company to replace our ancient lanai cage and also to add a roof to the porch. The roof leaked after the first rain. The screening company returned four times to fix our leaking roof but they were never successful. They never answered our fifth call nor did they ever return our calls after that. Jim Ayers, owner of Stuart Roof Repairs, was recommended to us by our neighbors. We found Jim to be honest, ethical and his attention to detail is exquisite. Jim spent a fair amount of time trying to determine the source of our leak. Once he figured what our problem was-he spent an incredible amount of time explaining in detail the solution to our leak. We hired Jim and his crew. They worked very hard in sweltering heat. Suffice it to say that we are now leak free despite torrential rains. I trust Jim. I will recommend him. I would hire him in a heartbeat. The man is brilliant

The men from Stuart Roof Repair were thorough, helpful and really interested in getting to the bottom of the problem. I recommend them highly. We felt that we were working with "old school" master craftsmen who took pride in their work.

Scott & James did an excellent job which took the entire day. They were extremely professional, courteous and knowledgeable with over 50 combined years of experience, and took the time to answer questions, show photos and explain their process. The job was particularly challenging as the tiles were fragile and cannot be replaced. These fellows did an outstanding job- both in diagnosing the problem and artfully repairing the damage. This was not easy, but the outcome is outstanding! I highly recommend this company.

Went well overall. Very professional crew. Was provided a custom detailed drawing of my roof and where repairs were needed. Gave written estimate of repairs to be performed and we spoke at length about any questions I had before giving final ok to move forward with the job.

The owner of Stuart Roofing Repair, Inc.,  Jim Ayres, was extremely pleasant and upfront about his schedule.  When I accepted  his job proposal, he indicated that his schedule was very tight and backed up to January and that he could get to my project in a week to ten days.  When I told him that I had an emergency situation that I was dealing with, he rearranged his schedule and was able to start the project in less than a week.  The workers came promptly, did a very professional job and finished in just a few hours.
I would recommend this company to anyone who needs quality work at a fair price.

Knowledgeable, professional, prompt.

They showed up on time, did the repair on time.  We are due for a new roof, so this will tide us over until we make a decision on that.  They are always friendly, honest and fairly priced

To the nitty-gritty, the work was very good, but the communication and timing could have been better. The price was about middle of the road of the three estimates we received. A big plus was no money down and half the contract amount due upon start of work. But they did not ask for any funds and I was not billed until a week later. There was a small extra charge for replacing rotted wood (plus labor). That was fine as I knew that beforehand. Also the work is warranted for 2 years.
The owner, James Ares, is quite knowledgeable about roof design and repair. You talk to him a few minutes and it?s obvious he knows his stuff. He explained what was required in detail, and supplied drawings too. His work crew was top notch and polite, showing me the damage and what caused the damage. They also cleaned up well.
The slight issue was with communication. Some calls were not returned promptly. Then I was told repairs would start 2 weeks from signing of contract, but it was almost 3.5 weeks before the repair was started. I know that unforeseen circumstances occur (rain), but that seemed excessive. And we did not have that much rain. And a courtesy call would have been nice. It seems like a lot of Florida contractors work like this, which I just don?t get.On the day before the work was to start, I received a call from James stating his crew would be there by 8am. They did not show until almost 11am. I put in for a few hours off work assuming they would be on time and I could see the damage. Turns out I had to leave for work, and then come home again (a few more hours of my time, plus travel).
The main thing is that there is no leak anymore. While we have not had any ultra-heavy, continuing rain, we have a few downpours and so far so good.If the company could improve their communication (it was not horrible but could have been better), they would rank a solid A. So I had to ding them a bit on that so hence the C rating. I also thought all the prices were a little steep (not just Stuart Roof Repair), but what are you going to do when your roof needs repair.
All in all a decent experience and I would use them again.

He was thorough but I thought he was little pricey for what he did. I ask for an estimate for some work and he sent one for over twenty one hundred dollars and I am sure I could get the same work done for a lot cheaper elsewhere.

I called the company and the next day they were out looking at the roof and giving me an estimate.  Three days later I received the paper contract which I signed and returned.  Unfortunately, they did not then return for a month.   After several calls they gentleman stated that he might be a while longer before he could get here.   Very disappointed I asked for the contract back that I would be looking for someone new, the next day he was out and fixed the roof.   The job they did  was professional and took a very short time to do.  Unfortunately, I dont think I would use them again as they seem to lack time management skills.

It went fine. It was positive. I was very pleased and their price was reasonable.

They came as soon as possible, completed the work quickly, and did a good job with the repairs.  Furthermore, their work stood up to the rains from the recent hurricane, and everything is holding. 

He returned my call and came to my house within two days of my initial call.    I had explained in my voice message on my initial call that my situation was not an emergency (the rain had stopped and therefore the water coming in had also stopped).   I consider this an excellent response given that all roofers were inundated with calls after we had 8-12" of rain.
He assessed my situation and was able to show me where the water was coming in - under the caulking around a window.  This was not obvious to me until the showed and explained it to me.   He advised me exactly what product to use and how to fix the problem, therefore saving me the cost of paying him to do it.   He only charged me for a consulting call.  I definitely got my money's worth and his recommended solution appears at this point to have been the correct one.

Overall I am very pleased and would recommend Stuart Roof Repair to anyone who has a leak and values high quality service.
