This is the Kind of Pet Sitting Service That ABANDONS Your Beloved Pets 2 days into a 1 Week Vacation!! TALK ABOUT STRESSED OUT!?! Worst Experience EVER! We used this service before for a couple of weekend trips, but decide not to hire her back because we caught her in a few white lies. She left "welcome home letters" detailing how the "kids" made out while we were away(which was nice), but she would describe some of our cats as, "meeting her at the front door to eat". Not True! Especially the 2 cats she chose to say it about, who are afraid of their own shadow and will hide under the bed for days if someone they don't know is in the house. Maybe she got them mixed up, but we left a 3 X 5 card for each cat with all of their information, including medical, name, color, personality and likes & dislikes. She also took notes when she came to our home prior to our trip. After a little time, and given the "credentials" Ms. Deb Markel claims to have, we decided to give her another try. After all, they were little lies. Little Lies lead to Bigger Lies! TWO Days into our Vacation, I realized I left our air conditioning too low and called our neighbor of more than 5 years across the street to go to our home and turn it up by 8 degrees. When Ms. Markel found out she went ballistic, screaming at me on the phone, screaming at my elderly neighbor that she was going to leave the key and, "'She' (my 80 year old neighbor) can take care of them"! I started crying & begging her to not abandon our precious pets, but she was unreasonably angry and we couldn't understand why. THANK God, we had the number of someone else who does this and she took over. But the damage was done ... I spent the next three days in constant anxiety attack mode. Horrible Experience!! We found out from 3 separate neighbors that she didn't get to our house until 6:30 or 7:00PM ... So that explains why our more social cats met her at the door ... they were starving and 3 hours past dinner time! The person who replaced Kitten Sittin' told us that 2 of the water bowls (inside) were near empty and the water bowl outside on the patio had an inch of SLIMY WATER in it! Also, 3 of the 4 litter boxes were filthy dirty and load with urine & feces. She did scoop a box in our bathroom & put the litter in our trashcan IN THE BATHROOM! We were told our house smelled REALLY BAD. These same neighbors have been in my home too many times to count and they KNOW how I am about keeping it clean and smell free, especially with 6 cats! We left Ms. Markel a check for FULL payment in advance AND added $27 in Gratuity (because we take care of those who take care of us!). I stopped payment on the check at a cost to me of $33. This is when Deb Markel went on Facebook to the page of the person I work for and TWICE slandered me by saying, (Direct Quote, minus my last name & business name), "Hey Patricia (last name).... feelin' good about Bouncing that check for $220 for services rendered?!!!" She left messages on my voice mail that she was "filing court papers" because I, "committed a federal offense". Ms. Markel, It is NOT against The Law to CANCEL PAYMENT for HORRIBLE SERVICES, UNPROFESSIONALISM AND ABANDONING MY PETS!
