"Thanks for the review [Member Name Removed] we appreciate it, And yes you are right about the area you live in it is one of the tougher towns to work in. The scope of work was to replace the main disconnect and re do the main grounding system outside at the main service But during the inspection the inspector wanted to go in the home where no scope of the permitten work authorized him to go. The inspector saw that there were some issues with the existing panel such as separating the grounds and neutrals, relocating the ac conduit so that the panel cover did not touch it, and to run a bond wire to the wate heater. These all were existing issues and after I had a personal meeting with the inspector he informed me about that area being a problem and that's why he went inside the home . I'm very sorry the scope of work increased a little but for the safety our the home owner and our company it is mandatory that permits be pulled on all service changes, and with that comes the city inspectors I do not ever want to charge my customer more than we have to but [Member Name Removed] is right you just never know what they will come up with at any point of time , not only that I could go on all day scaring a customer who owns an older home with older existing conditions not knowing exactly what the inspector is going to turn his eye to and what he will want to bring up to current code Of course if we see any major issues we let our customer know before the job ever is estimated but Some inspectors say, nope I don't want to go in the house Others say in this area we have had a lot of issues with vandalism and stealing power so they look to make sure that is not the case We know the inspector on this job we have done much work for him in the past and he even said the job looked good the electric utility company came out in the morning, we replaced the disconnect we passed the inspection and the power was back on in no time that same day."
