I returned home on a Saturday afternoon to discover that my air conditioner wasn't working and the house was 88 degrees. I called their office and left a message on the emergency line, since that was the only option available. Donna, who also leased me the house, called back in half an hour and said that she would have "their A/C guy" call me. An hour and a half I still hadn't heard from anyone and called her back. She informed me that she didn't know what hours their service vendors worked, but I probably wouldn't hear from anyone until Monday, and that frankly this wasn't an emergency. Her suggestion was that I use fans for two 90 degree plus days. After discussion she said that they would not reimburse me or discount my rent if I called another service provider myself, or opted to get a hotel room for the night. I don't know what the laws are in Florida, but I would consider A/C in August and September to be a warranty of habitability issue. I'll be investigating this further, and will not renew my lease or look at any property that they manage.
