We recently completed an extensive remodel of our newly purchased home with MPP Coatings, Inc. The co-owner of the company, Adam Erdelyan, did NOT meet the expectations promised. Toward the end of our process through renovations, Adam demonstrated a lack of professionalism, expertise, management skills and customer service. This was demonstrated by Adam leaving numerous items UNFINISHED. In our opinion, it is clear that Adam’s true purpose is NOT to ensure his client’s complete satisfaction. We think MPP Coatings Inc. is a TERRIBLE company! It was **** working with Adam due to his mismanagement and bad planning, as well as his inability to adhere to a deadline. We tried talking matters over with Adam, but he got very defensive and kept repeating, "Prove it!" Or, “You didn’t ask for that.” We don't want others to experience the same horror that we did. We want to tell the world how bad a relationship with a home improvement company can get. That’s why we’re sharing our story here. An Estimate on our Projects: We had purchased a home that needed renovations. 1. Remove popcorn from all ceilings & skim. 2. Remove all flooring, prep & Epoxy. 3. Paint all interior walls & ceilings. 4. Paint 2 interior doors. 5. Install ¼” round to all baseboards. When Adam came out, he seemed very pleasant and on the ball. He emailed us his estimate approximately one week later. After we hired Adam: Painting Issues: 1. Unfinished spots throughout; i.e., above lights in guest bathroom not painted, around sconce light in all-season room not painted, right side of kitchen window not painted, front bedroom various unpainted spots on walls and light switch. The Epoxy Pour: 1. The floors are NOT level. 2. Various dragging marks throughout, especially visible in the all-season room. 3. Deep scratches in living room & and all-season room. 4. Yellowing color throughout. We specifically told Adam that we did NOT want any gold/tan/yellow hues of color at all. 5. Numerous cracks and divots as well as peeling. When we pointed out the large scratch in the living room, he reasoned, “Don’t worry. I’ve got your back.” He NEVER repaired it. Finishing of 1/4” Round: 1. Every corner has an approximate half inch gap. 2. All ¼” round in front of the kitchen and bathroom cabinets had been removed; but, NEVER replaced. There are gaps that debris/food can escape into, which will result in bugs. When we pointed out ALL these UNFINISHED areas, Adam’s response was, “You didn’t ask to have that done.” We are not flooring experts, but if these were removed, they should be replaced. Common sense! The whole time, Adam maintained the facade that he was very friendly and agreeable. There were never any cross words on his end, but he wouldn’t follow through with anything he said. It was just all words. On 2/10/2020, we received an email from Adam that ended with, and we quote, “There is no pleasing you and I feel sorry for you and your husband. I’m sure he can’t please you either (in more than way) … Suck ***** in **** *****, Adam Erderlyan Vice President MPP Coatings, Inc.” Living with Shoddy Work: The finishing companies that have come out to give us quotes asked, “Who poured that Epoxy? Your floors are unlevel and show many flaws and defects.” It’s going to cost a whole lot more money to move forward with having all these unfinished areas and ¼” round installed. Now we have this big headache and expense to fix and endure. Bamboozled: In hind-site, we wish we had done more research before we hired Adam of MPP Coatings Inc. We were bamboozled! Don’t repeat our mistake. Here’s our advice: 1. If you’re going to spend over $25,000.00 on a remodel; spend another 25 dollars and do a deep background check. 2. Read reviews carefully. Adam only had TWO online reviews. We should have wondered why only two. 3. Make sure you sign a contract that gives a start and end date for your project, when you hire a company. We didn’t do that; we only signed an estimate, which is not at all the same thing.
Description of Work: Remove existings flooring & put down Epoxy, Finishing & Painting
