BIT BUCKET COMPUTERS

Al had done an okay job of cleaning our computer in May, 2013 (and we found out that we know his mom from high school & had a nice talk). We still had a lot of issues (mainly very slow) after this so we decided to purchase a new tower from him the end of August. He said it would take less than a week total so we left our old tower with him. We called him after a week (had not heard from him) he said it had not come in yet. We called him after two weeks (all the parts had not come in and he had not contacted us). This went on until Sept. 12, 2013, we called him, he now had all the parts, etc. He said he would work on it on Friday, Sept. 13th and we could pick it up Friday afternoon. I called him Friday around 4:30 said I will be there around 5:10 pm he said he would be gone so we could pick it up Saturday morning when he opens around 10 am. We were there at 10:10 am on Saturday and a sign was on the door (Gone to son's game be back at 1 pm)....Keep in mind we live approx. 40 minutes away from his shop! He could have and should have called us !! We returned at 1 pm and had to still wait an additional 5-10 minutes for him to come in. My husband and I entered his shop right behind him and he went into the back, got our new computer and started working on it!! It was not even ready yet!! We sat in his shop for OVER TWO more hours while he loaded programs into it!! This was TOTALLY uncalled for! We had waited for over a month already and had he been honest with us and just said he was now quite busy with something else and it would take a few days to load it we would have accepted it but he did NOT call us and he lied (saying it was ready on Friday when he didn't even have it ready on Saturday)!! Also, he lives just 3+ miles from us, he could have volunteered to take it to his home & us pick it up there; and phone calls would have cost him nothing to keep us posted, but not one phone call from him!! We did get our computer and it works fine. ANOTHER issue a week after this whole incident...we purchased a year's membership from him in May, 2013 for anti-virus software, it seemed to work well. I asked him if he would reinstall that program into our new computer (we still had 9 months of that year's membership); he said we would have to purchase a new one year's membership (he said the software company would not allow us to 'move' it to the new computer). After thinking about it for a week I thought that was odd and called the company myself--they said what he said was not true. I told this to Al and he said 'that's not what the company told him'. I called the company again, they could not 'transfer' the membership to the new computer b/c I purchased the program through his shop and they had not record of it, Al would have to either transfer it to my new computer or refund the 9 months worth back to me. I called Al again, told him what the company told me and ask him to call them--he said he would not. We now are also out money that is truly owed to us. This time I purchased the program through the company, they have a record of it in case I again need to transfer it to another computer AND it cost me $10.00 less than Al's quoted price !!! I do hope I will NOT have to go back to him again !!!!
