Hired to put a metal roof on a 1200 sq foot addition. If you want a metal roof install that only lasts 7 years... These are your guys. If you want a company to avoid you until their warranty is up... These are your guys. Company blamed the poor installation on the Florida heat and hurricanes, Even though I called them years ago about the problem. Funny my older roof, on the original part of the house, doesn't have this problem only the one they installed on the addition. If you want a guy to come out and tell you it was the manufacturers fault and not his crews for not following industry standards when applying a metal roof. John with Astro Roofing is your guy. You were warned!

Two calls were made to Astro and we received not one response.

Like so many people in the Volusia County area we had some roof damage. Astro immediately answered our request which is so appreciated. They were not tarping roofs which is what we needed right away but they were prompt in letting us know . We have requested information from several roofing companies and Astro is the only one that has responded so far. We know and understand that industry is very busy but it only takes a couple minutes to answer if you can be of help. They also explained how they like to handle estimates so that is good to know going forward.

Fantastic! This is a family run business (two brothers, DAD, even the Mom is the secretary/bookkeeper). The total job on a 1700 sq ft. home took two and a quarter days in the middle of the hottest July ever recorded. Very fair, very clean, very fast. If you need roofing, I strongly recommend Astro Roofing. An example: We had some prior storm damage before we moved in. We knew about some of it, but not the full extent. Turned out to be 18 sheets of plywood used! These guys were out there doing jigsaw puzzles trying to save every piece of lumber! The price of the repair, to include the lumber and labor for installation, was included in the contract. I was informed in detail as the estimate rose slightly. The original estimate was $8800 and the final price was $9550 (14 additional sheets of plywood plus labor).

Johnny from Astro Roofing quoted us a price based on an initial inspection.  Not surprising, he did find things that couldn't be seen with an initial estimate, so the price was higher than quoted.  
Johnny expected to start in December, but with weather he started in January, but was well worth the wait.

I called and left a message and never heard back. I called again and still received the answering machine and no call back.

Everything went smoothly.  They were fast, efficient and very quality oriented.  Total time start to finish was two days.

I originally called Astro Roofing specifically because a: They had a good rating on Angies List and b: They were a local firm in Port Orange. I got an answering machine and it took them a day to get back to me. Johnny Fuit then came over right away and was very helpful in discussing what needed to be done. Easy-going, no pushy selling, I never felt rushed. I suggested certain upgrades and he included them. He showed me samples of the shingles he was to use and I noticed that they were a brand name that I was familiar with. It took about a month from the time I spoke with him to the time they started work. Admitedly there was a lot of rain, but frankly I felt that they should have called and explained the delay. We finally called them and they said they would be there on monday. Monday came and bright and early there they were with six obviously experienced men and began ripping off the old shingles. Johnny was there with them and even though he is an owner, be worked as hard as his crew and was there the entire time. He patiently answered my questions as the work progressed. They worked fast and carefully. I spent some time on the roof watching and was impressed with the quality of work that was progressing. They stopped to hammer in nails that were sticking up, they cut and filled lumber where the old roof had rotted. They renailed the entire roof. It rained the next day so no work, but Johnny did tell me they would not be there. Wednesday and the crew returned and started to lay down the shingles. They were using the brand name shingles that was promised. Ditto for the ridge vents. The skylights were installed along with new vents. I watched and appreciated the fact that each crewmember was taking care to do a good job. Each shingle had the proper amount of nails put down, the roof is straight and well laid down. Seams were overlapped with cement underneath. The yard was cleaned up and you would never know that they were there. Overall I believe that they did an excellent professional job and were very pleasant to do business with. I am very pleased. I would definitely recommend this firm and would certainly use them again.

Original contact was in August for estimate. Astro's estimate was the most competative of 4 other estimates. Install date was set for late October (following hurricane season) and work commenced on 10-22-13, completed in 2 1/2 days. Crew (5) was very professional (no day laborers). Owner (John) was on site at all times. Crew was very helpful in answering questions and dealing with anything pointed out. Cleanup at the end of each day was thourgh and complete. I am familar with this company's work from other jobs they have done over the past 25+ years and, should the need arise, would not hesitate to use this company again, and highly recommend them for any roofing issues you may have.

They're supposed to be a cheaper company but I think I feel like they kinda jacked the price because everybody was busy because this was right after the rain had hit. That's my feeling. They could do the roof for about $5,000 and this company came out with a quote of $7,000.

Work was completed as scheduled, crew took reasonable care to protect shrubs and screened pool enclosure, and did a thorough cleanup.
Do: Check for straightness of shingle rows (from the ground) while work is in progress, if not looking right (parallel/straight) say something to the foreman.
Do: Take time to check for straightness of shingles at gable ends, have them trimmed straight while workers are still there.
Do: Make your own check for errant nails in grass and especially around driveways, the more eyes checking the better.

I liked it and they did a good job. They brought plenty of people and did it in one day. We're really happy with the roof. We always had a leak in our sunroom and I had a roofer come eight different times. He never found a leak, but these people took care of it. They came on time, but it was mostly dark outside. They cleaned up and it was good. I think their price was fair and they were very professional. I'm very happy with them and they did very well.

I like that they keep their appointments and they are right there for responsiveness and punctuality. Their quality is excellent.

After receiving a recommendation for Astro, they came and gave me an estimate which was very reasonable. I had the contract signed, notarized, and I mailed it. Two weeks later, I hadn't heard anything. I phone daily for another week with no response. On most occasions, I was phoning after work hours expecting to leave a voice mail with instructions to please call and let me know the status. I received a strange beeping sound, but no message, which made me think I had the wrong number. I called a few times during the day (same number) and left messages, again with no response. Finally, three weeks after sending contract, I left a message stating that I wanted to cancel the contract. I was concerned that if they were so unmotivated to complete a project for which they would be paid, how good would they be about following up on their warrantee. The day after I left the message to cancel the contract, they finally called back stating they could do the job the following week. I feel they had very poor communication and lack of professionalism in the way they handled my situation.
