West Florida Termite And Pest Control

We initially used this service last October as Termite Inspection when we were getting ready to buy our new home. Kevin came out and found no termites. At that time we hired him at the rate he quoted us of $80/quarter to spray the inside of our home, as well as the perimeter, for bugs. He said he would call set up an appointment for that service when we were moving in, which he did. He came out and he and his partner spent four hours doing stuff around the outside of the house, (we were busy painting & fixing things in the house, so weren't paying much attention to what they were doing), after which he charged us $850 for "termite prevention." That price had NEVER been quoted to us - the only quote we ever received was the $80/quarter and we assumed that whatever they were doing was included in that price. We were very upset because the work had already been done, so we had to pay it, but that cost was NOT in our new-home budget. He told us that if we had any other problems he would come out fi take care of them. About a month later we were having lots of problems with ants in our yard, so I called. The first time I called, he never called back. I called again a couple days later and he said that we would be out later that day. When he came out, he wanted to charge us an additional $275 to spray for ants! In talking to other pest control companies, I guess the cost of the termite prevention was fair, but it wasn't a service we wanted, nor had we ever been quoted that price. Charging an additional $275 to spray for the ants was just ridiculous. I can't use or recommend this company because I just plain don't trust them. What a rip-off!!
