On 6/18/2014, a snake had somehow gotten into our Trane outside air conditioner unit.The snake got caught in the fan, and the fan was making very loud noises, so we knew something was wrong. We stopped the unit, cleaned out the unit, which was unfortunately quite "yucky" and when we turned it back on, it seemed to be okay. However, the next day we noticed the fan was not running. Previously we had gotten a card advertising Total Comfort, so we called them. The Tech came out within a reasonable time and removed the old fan motor. He did not have a replacement motor with him, so he had to go pick one up. Unfortunately, the one he brought back did not fit properly, so he had to drill holes and retro fit it into the Trane unit. We felt the charge of $395 for the motor seemed high. The other charges of $85 for the service call and $95 labor were probably in line. The unit has been running fine since.
