Based out of the city of Port Charlotte, Sunny Days Ice Cream operates a classic ice cream truck that travels through residential neighborhoods in search of children and families who love ice cream. Sunny Days also caters to businesses and private functions, providing over 60 different ice creams to choose from, for any special event, formal or informal. "I have read your review and am sorry that you feel this way. We have in our notes that we were scheduled between 11-12:30 that day to visit with you, to sell ice cream before everyone got on to the boats. I am not showing any other times were discussed. We are an hour away from your location, so we headed out to you at 10:00am. When we were ten minutes to your location, we received a phone call that we did not have to come because the kids were not racing that day. We definitely needed more than 10 minutes notice as I am sure any business would. The $50.00 charge imposed was the trip charge for going up there and being canceled with ten minutes notice and traveling an hour. We did send you a detailed letter explaining that our business is based off bookings and when we put you on our schedule this means we are committed to you and only you and no other jobs will be scheduled in that time slot. We also explained that there is great time involved prepping for a job...stocking, cleaning, fueling, and more. And that we pay staff to do the job. When we do not receive at least a 12 hour notice, this puts us at a great loss. Had we not been on the road already, we would not have charged you the trip fee. I hope that the next time you would like ice cream, you do think of us and we will make every effort to make sure you have a pleasant experience with us. I hope you have a super sweet day."
