Ceramic Tile Service
$360
This was a terrible situation in every way. Jonathon Lynch did not remember that on his first visit he had told me that he could cut the tiles to the appropriate size with "no problem" because he had a wet saw when he quoted the job. So when he arrived to install them, he said he would need to charge more. Then he had a friend visit him during the job (!) and I overheard him telling his friend that I had bone colored grout but he would lighten it up with white grout. I told him that I had carefully selected the tile color and I wanted him to use it. (I started to wonder if the friend was here to case my home as he didn't seem to have a purpose in coming.) Jonathon refused to use the grout I purchased from the reputable flooring company where I purchased all of the materials they recommended; he said they were WRONG to sell me sanded grout and he would ONLY use unsanded. He said he had the exact same color grout. It had the same name but was not the same color. He borrowed a table of mine to place his wet saw on and work and made a mess of it. He didn't use spacers between the tiles and set them unevenly. He didn't protect my floor or surrounding walls and made a mess of them and also the woodwork. Two walls and the woodwork have to be repainted since he didn't tape them off or lay down a tarp. The wood trim was coated with grout, and removing the grout also took off some of the paint. He argued with me about using the sanded caulk in the joints the flooring company recommended. I was so uncomfortable that I texted a neighbor to please stop by because I thought he was going to demand MORE payment than we had agreed on because he (very poorly) cut the tile. He was in my home from 9:00 am until 5:00 pm to tile a 3'x7' wall. Turns out he couldn't finish the job because he didn't remember to bring an extender for an electrical outlet, so he had to return the next morning.
