Rainsoft

Have had RainSoft for 28 years and it was fine for many years when the original owner in Naples had it. The person moved and sold the company and it is now based out of Charlotte County. Their equipment is not great but is okay. Problem is service in Naples. If you live in Naples, I would not recommend at all. For years, they have only serviced Naples 2 days a week. When something goes wrong, you end up having to wait for 1 to 3 weeks for them to come down. They only care about servicing their equipment and not anything else going on with well or pumps, etc. Have sold me on things that end up not being an improvement at all. Customer service in Naples is probably the main reason why I would never choose them again.

We were in Home Depot working on a kitchen remodel project when we were asked by a RainSoft salesperson if we would like to have a free in home water test done. An appointment was set up for the next day and a RainSoft salesman came to our house and did testing on our water. This included testing of water from our Brita faucet filter as well as from the filtered water from our refrigerator. The high chlorine content and mineral content of our water was demonstrated. The sales pitch included incentives that could only be applied to our purchase if we signed a contract at the time of the visit. A bit high pressure. We were already motivated to do something about our water but at the time of the visit had not done much research. We did sign a contract to have a system installed the next day but after the salesman left we felt we had rushed into the decision. We did some additional research about water softeners and that generated more questions. We cancelled the installation the next day by contacting our local Home Depot. The RainSoft distributor contacted us immediately to address our questions and offered to send another representative(this person was not only a salesperson but an installer) to assess our needs. We agreed to his visit and at that time we were able to get all of our questions answered and get a more detailed and technical description of how a system would be installed in our condo. We did purchase a system. The installation was done by two installers who were very knowledgable and professional. They paid careful attention to detail and cleaned up the area as they worked. The system had to be installed in a closet and they took great care to conserve space as much as possible and place the equipment in an aesthetically pleasing way (same for the reverse osmosis sytem under the kitchen sink). We are extremely happy with the quality of our water since the installation of the RainSoft system. We are very pleased with the service provided to us by RainSoft and Home Depot with regard to our purchase and installation.

We have used this company for approximately 6 years. During that time they have been the only ones to service our water system, which they installed. Many of the technicians are very good. We have recently been experiencing many small problems and thought that by signing up for a monthly maintenance contract some could be avoided. This proved not to be the case. Since the monthly service was instituted a pressure tank needed replacing, a high pressure leak occurred and a high pressure gauge went out. None of these were pro-actively diagnosed even when specific problems were reported. The recent service resulted in the replacement of a high pressure gauge. Service was performed but after the technician left it was discovered that we had no water. After a call to the office the service technician returned and water was restored. Calls to the office to speak to the service manager were never returned.

We have a service contract with them and the pressure tank was under warranty, so it did not cost me anything. They were responsive and very knowledgeable. They were easy to talk to and they also gave good advice.
