When the county inspector came, he failed the cage structurally. They came back two months later to repair, and it did pass the inspection the second time.
The initial contract was $4000. Later they said they needed another $390 to connect existing patio roof to pool cage with a beam. I did agree to pay that additional amount.
After the second inspection, the inspector said the pool cage should not be connected to the patio roof & to take the beam down. They took that beam down, but have not reimbursed me for that additional charge.
They did not repair or patch the areas where the old pool cage was installed. They threw trash in the pool, and made a big mess. When their supervisor came he brought a skimmer and picked up the big pieces, but they used my pool pump against my wishes, to vacuum up what went to the bottom of the pool. Now my pool pump is making a funny noise.
"When the inspector came for the inspection, he determined the design loads for wind on the old and new sections, but they must be designed separately. The post and beam must connect to the house pan roof, mansard roof and the carrier beam must connect to the post. In order for this to be done we needed additional engineering. Also, your fascia/roof edge line was rotted, in which we repaired at no extra cost to the customer. Because of this we had to go back through engineering for additional engineering, we set up your final inspection immediately, as we informed her and the cage passed its final inspection as required by the engineer and inspector. Per the county inspector and us, there was no used Aluminum. In regards to the water bill, customer had neglected to say that she had the pool redone and refilled just prior to us starting the job. We used minimal amount of water to clean off the deck in completion of the job. This is a common practice in construction. We had contacted Charlotte County Utilities and found out that there was a credit for refilling the pool, because of a new interior, in which was signed by the customer on a official document requesting the credit."
