After receiving detailed quote and waiting six weeks the project started. There are different crews for each installation. We were told that there would be minimal interruption inside the home. Not true, very invasive... doors open all day crew coming in and out and dust everywhere. If we had know ahead of time we would have covered the furniture. One window cracked, and had to wait a couple of weeks to come in. One shutter did not fit as quoted (they blamed the estimator) so we had to have a different model installed. A different crew showed up to install... Inspection failed the first time as there were not enough screws installed in the repaired window. Inspector had to come out again and yet another different crew was late to meet him. Thankfully the inspector waited a half hour for them to show. The company was responsive to remedying the problems, however there was not a specific project manager to speak of.

Service was excellent. Professional, prompt, responsive to all questions and quick to fix even the most minor issue. From the sales call to installation this company was fantastic. They communicated with us before, during, and after the project. I never had to wonder where we were in the process.

The price was competitive and the workmanship was the best. I was so pleased with them that I ordered roll down Shutters from them also. I highly recommend them!

We had all windows and interior/exterior doors replaced in our home. The house was built in 1987. The Florida weather was not kind to the existing windows/doors and needed to be updated. GJC did a wonderful job replacing so many things. They did the job on-time, did a very professional job, and I would highly recommend them! Our house looks totally new! Thank you GJC!!

Everything was fine up to the initial day of the installation. I never got a proper notification on the day of the work. So I had to travel an hour round trip from work to unlock the doors. After that it went pretty good until the inspection. There was yet again miscommunication from their main office on the time frame of the inspection, so missed it. The next time I had to go out of my way to communicate with the inspector to get the time frame situated. The inspection went well and all that was left was the final work and walk thru. I assume that when the final work was to be done that they would clean up after themselves and the windows. But I guess that is only in the Midwest from where I originally lived. I had to pressure wash my lanai from the debris caked on and they left a mess with silicon on my slider door and picture window. The picture window which I spent more on and was a local Florida manufacturer called PGT. There is silicone exposed coming from the trim where the window goes into. Blood was also on the window in a few spots. I am happy with the price of the work but the small things that were missed bothered me. I had to take time to clean up after them having spent hard earned money on the job. This was my first time not using Angie's List on major work done on my house. That won't happen again. Lesson learned. I worked on wiring electrical and internet in houses back in the Midwest and WE ALWAYS left the house as it was presented to us or even better when we were finished for the day or the job was over. There is more to the work then just the job itself. Communication and cleaning up are parts of the work the were off point.

They were above and beyond all exceptions at every step of the way from the beginning (estimates) to the finished product. We had to go to their showroom to look at the products and we ended up at the wrong showroom, they felt bad we ended up at the wrong showroom. They eneded up paying for our lunch in advance. They were friendly, polite, efficient, clean and quick. I can't say enough about them. When we didn't pass the initial inspection due to a egress window being too small. They replaced the window with a larger window, free of charge. The product is amazing and looks beautiful.

Personnel always arrived when due and were very professional. The work went smoothly and was finished on schedule. The inspector from the county commented that the installers had gone above and beyond when installing and securing the door. I will certainly use the service again for any future work.

After experiencing a very poor performance by another, highly rated window and glass company we selected GJC.

GJC prepared a quote quickly and answered all of our questions.  The GJC representative was very personable and took the time necessary to discuss all of our concerns and past history.

After accepting the quote, the owner of GJC came to measure the door dimensions again and further described the door we would receive and the benefits of the brand they would use, PGT.

It took a little longer than we had hoped to get the door but it was custom made to fit the large space and to provide a door that was only 2 panels.  The "other" company wanted us to buy a 4 panel door.

Installation went very smoothly.  The installers were two young men who were friendly and again, took time to answer all of the questions we had.

While the new sliding doors looks a bit bulkier that the old doors, it was designed to meet the new building codes in SW Florida.  It works as expected and looks very nice.

"Thank you very much. First for taking the time to post a review. We are all very busy people in this world and it means a lot that someone would take the time to help us promote our company. Thank you also for affirming that we are doing it right. That's our simple goal. Doing it right involves a lot of people and a lot of steps, from the first phone call, the sales appointment, remeasure, purchase, ordering, receiving, installing, inspecting and post inspection service, we work very hard as a team to coordinate all steps and make this major transformation in your home as simple as possible. And we love hearing we "did it right" thanks for being a great customer. Laury Couture"

I had 2 windows installed and I was very impressed with the installation process.  The 2 guys that did the installation were quick, thorough and left my house spotless.  When I had my inspection done the inspector even commented on the great work the installers had done.  I love my windows so far and they have really updated the look of my house.  I did have a little bit of trouble when it came to the date of installation and there seemed to be some miscommunication between some of the guys at the business. I definitely plan on using them again for future window installations next summer.

"Thank you so very much for taking the time to review our company. We apologize for the misunderstanding regarding the install date and take your feedback very seriously. Our goal is to "do it right" the first, second and every time. Your candidness helps us see where we need to step up and we have done that. Thank you also for all the positive things you've said about your experience with us and we sure do hope you remember us when you're ready for more!!! Laury Couture"

I was remodeling.  Wanted windows done before kitchen.  Placed order, paid half and scheduled for 2 weeks later.  Night before scheduled installation called to say windows not received.  2 weeks later I called on Friday at noon, left message for an update.  Monday called and said it would be 2 weeks.  Mrs. Couture said they "dropped the ball one me."
Response from GJC Window & Door Co
"Hello Mr. [removed member info], I'd like to say thank you for the review. Even though it isn't a positive one, feedback is always welcome. I'd like to say that you are absolutely correct in that I dropped the ball on this order. Initially, when I read this review, I couldn't recall this project, but I looked in our database and found that we had sold you two windows exactly 1 year ago yesterday, the 10th of November. I looked through all of the paperwork and I found that on November 11, 2014 I sent in an order for two impact rated horizontal sliding windows. And then I saw that on December 8th, I confirmed that order. Because it was so long ago, I am piecing together what these documents mean. I surmise that I sent in the order immediately, and somehow between my sending it, and the vendor receiving, or responding there was a disconnect. When we send an order to our vendor, the next step is to check back for confirmation. I clearly missed that step. And because I missed it, you ended up waiting an additional 2 weeks for your product. What should have been completed in 4 weeks, actually took 6. Impact windows have a 4 week lead time, therefore, we wouldn't have scheduled for two weeks later, but it was a long time ago and details fade. All of that being said, we strive for excellence. As a small business in a very competitive market, a company must work very, very, hard to meet the highest standards. Unfortunately, perfection is very elusive. I made a mistake. Although I can't recall our conversations, knowing who we are as a company, I'm certain that we handled it professionally. One thing we are always certain of, is that we never mislead our customers. When we make a mistake, and that's really not often, we own it. We take responsibility and we learn. That's why feedback is so important. What makes me really feel bad is that you have lived with this for a year. Again, I am very sorry that you were inconvenienced by my error. We wish you the best. Laury Couture, owner GJC Window & Door Co"

I purchased a special deal through Angies List. We added more windows to the special deal which ended up to be a very good price. The installers were great-very professional and punctual. Everything was cleaned up before they left.I would definitely reccommend them to anyone who is thinking of getting new windows.
