Terrible hospital! Only use the er if you don't value your life. Go to bayfront instead. Back in 2014, I was seeing a dentist and got a tooth pulled. Later I had complications like high fever of 103, swollen jaw and lymph gland in my neck and PAIN. They checked me into er, then took one look at me without taking my temp or blood pressure and said we can't help you, go to your dentist. Then released me. My fever was still not going down with two Tylenol every hour. I went back to my dentist and they said I must have a piece of tooth left and it's abscessed. So I went back to the ER, got same no treatment but chargedc 800 each time. By this time I felt helpless, weak from high temp, my jaw and neck was profusely swollen and the pain was worse than childbirth. We were new to this area and unaware there was a hospital in nearby ***** gorda Bayfront until our neighbor suggested it. I went, thinking they would also turn me away. Instead They were all in a frenzy, got me air lifted to St Pete for an emergency laporotomy. I had an abscessed lymph node that was on the brink of bursting. If it did the poison would have flooded my body and brain and killed me. In conclusion, Fawcett will try to kill you by non treatment.

The nurses in the orthopedic center are always friendly and helpful.  They are very attentive and have fantastic expertise.  They are like a well-oiled machine!  I couldn't be happier, I even wrote a letter to the manager to let him know how wonderful the staff is.

They were really, really good with him. They were excellent. We couldn't complain about the treatment. They did everything they were supposed to do. My husband has a sense of humor and they were willing to joke with him and interact with him. The nurses were so good; I think they should get medals. They got right to us when we went in; it was within minutes. It is an older hospital but it is very clean and there were no bad smells. It is a really good hospital.

waited to see a dr for about 2 hrs.  The ER desk help was very unpleasant. She must have hated her job.  Was seen my a PA not a DR. and was misdiagnosed.  Was on vacation in Florida and had to leave 2 weeks earlier for home then planned because I needed a Dr. to help me. I had a GI infection,

The service provided was poor. The respect given to the patient was none. Had discussions regarding patient outside of door where grandchildren were in ear shot. Advised oncoming staff that they patient was Chinese or something... and that she wanted to go home to take care of her dog... another comment was made that at least the Chinese don't eat dog...

They were quite good. They were prompt, very professional, resolved the issues quickly and we got in quickly. I was impressed with all the staff and their thoroughness. I would use them anytime. We do have a choice of emergency rooms here. There are several options. I choose them. I couldn't have been more pleased in terms of how things went. They were very efficient. The bills was handled properly.

They provided very good care. I was there one year ago. The nurses and staff were so good. I was in terrible shape after my surgery. I urinated every five minutes and they changed everything. They took very good care of me. They are great at taking care of customers. Night and day they change everything for me. They brought me everything because I was in such bad condition.

They were very professional and friendly. The environment, in the area I was in, was almost a hotel-like setting. The decor and the way the rooms were set up did not have that sterile, institutional type of setting. All of the normal hospital things were there and available, but it was just a more comfortable setting. I would use Fawcett Memorial Hospital again.

Visited ER for suspected appendicitis. Received emergency surgery within 4 hours of admittance. Placed on surgical floor following surgery. Spent next three days in that room in same gown and bedding. Finally asked to leave due to feeling like nursing staff wasn't listening. Went home for a day and had to return through ER due to missed diagnosis of illyus (paralyzed bowel). Readmitted for treatement of illyus and received excellent care, follow up on prior complaints and left 4 days later to recover at home. They did a great job at correcting prior problems with care. Had to ask a few times but finally received non-narcotic pain killer which sped recovery along.
