I called to get clarification about something that I thought was clarified in the initial call when making the appointment last Friday. I was told that I had to place a credit card on file but when I questioned why because I've never had to do it before I was told that they didn't know I was using beaches habitat. I remember telling a customer service rep that I did tell her that because my initial call was regarding an air filter but she kept telling me I did not several times so I told her that I didn't want to argue and can I speak to the manager please. When the manager did get on the phone she immediately told me that it wasn't their responsibility to call Beaches Habitat to see if there is any money in my escrow and that is the homeowner's responsibility. Well, I could see that I was being misunderstood or maybe they thought that I was not being truthful because my initial concern was not about having enough in my escrow to cover the service but getting clarification on why I have to put my credit card on file when I've never had to do it before. I voiced this several times. The only reason I asked if they checked with Beaches Habitat beforehand is to get an understanding as to why they are requesting my credit card. As I tried to explain the manager would never let me finish any of my sentences and threatened me that they would go ahead and bill beaches habitat but if there is not enough money in my escrow that they are going to put a lien on my home. Not bill me but put a lien on my home. That's when I became very frustrated and I told them that I will report them to the state and to the Better Business Bureau and she told me she didn't care who I told. These are some very nasty people over the phone or is it they only like this to a certain kind of demographic. Why would you make threat in this manner. I have proof because I gave permission for my son to record me on the phone. This company's management is rude, lacks professionalism, lacks tact and lacks the ability to handle communicate effectively. The manager could definitely use some professional development/grooming so she can retrain her customer service rep on how to handle calls with quality. I will never do business with them again and anyone who is looking for AC Service I will not refer them. Mean and nasty people!

They're good. Our system is only three years old and we had a clog that kept it from cooling. It was under warranty. I did have to pay a lot for labor though, almost $500 so I thought that was kind of shocking. They were very courteous. They didn't charge me to come out and diagnose the problem. They charged me for four hours labor. They weren't here four hours but there were two of them. It's kind of confusing and I know they have to put that expensive coolant in the line to figure it out and everything. I just thought it was a little bit costly for a three year old air conditioning system. They came right away and very pleasant. I will use them again because my system is under warranty with them.

Sometimes their pricing is what I consider a little high, given the amount of business that I do with them.

Florida Air Service and Engineering (FAE) had done some repair work on my old AC and recommended that the unit (both air handler and condenser and other code work) needed to be replaced/updated.  They gave me a price that included the permitting, air handler, condenser (including relocating the condenser to a new location), a new thermostat and other required code work.  These issues, all of which I have communicated in detail to the owner of the company, occurred:
1) Even though I paid for the proper permitting, the company did not obtain a permit.  They were caught by the city working without a permit and had to pay a $400 fine for doing so.
2) In addition, after beginning work on the installation, the company informed me that I needed an electrician to handle the required wiring.  Even though FAE had originally scoped the job, I was never informed that I needed an electrician.  I was then told that because I did not have this electrical work completed quickly enough, I would be charged $95 for an additional service call to allow FAE to finish their job.  In addition, because I had to engage an electrician on a rush basis, that electrical work cost me another $500.  The company was never able to explain to me how I would have known that they needed an electrician.
3)When the FAE technician finalized the installation and left the job (on their second day of work), I noticed sometime later that the condensation line outside was not dripping.  I checked the upstairs of my home and water was pouring through the ceiling and had already begun to flood the floor of my upstairs.  I called the technician back and he returned to find that he had neglected to connect/install the drain line from the upstairs unit.
4)While I was discussing these items with the owner of the company, I also noticed that I had been charged for a new thermostat that had never been installed.  The owner asked if I would allow them to come back prior to the inspection to install the new thermostat, because not only did they charge me for something I did not receive, this would have been another code violation.
5)The owner never offered an apology or any form of reimbursement for this poor performance.  The company's position: It passed inspection.

They were just very good at what they did. They explained everything and explained my options before I had to make a decision to try and save me money. Simply things about well if you replace this and with the lower grade that when your outside compressor goes you'll have to replace both because this one is not compatible with that one and if you upgrade it now then when it goes the outside one is only good for so many. I mean so they were really helpful in helping me make a good financial decision. I really don't know what the normal price for that would be.
