D R Leach Irrigation

After re-sodding, all is well.

It didn't go well at all.

Scheduling was by far the greatest challenge. The original appointment for a technician to come give me an estimate was rescheduled for a few days later. No problem. The tech came on time and provided me with a reasonable estimate and then told me that the office would call to set up the install. He said they were about two weeks out from being able to do the install. But two weeks went by and I had not received a call so I called them. They said that they were working on the scheduling and would give me a call back. Another few days went by without a call back. I called and the office staff asked me if two weeks later worked for the install. I told them it did. They said they would call to confirm. The two weeks went by and they did not call and they did not install. I called them back and they said they were working on the scheduling and that they would give me a call. Guess what? No call. I have decided to go with another company.

Technician was on-time and experienced and identified the problem promptly and it was corrected in a timely fashion.

They were extremely professional, provided some suggestions for what to update/improve and what not to do in the future.  Really reasonable price.

We have been using D. R. Leach for repairs and maintenance of our irrigation system since 2008. They always do a nice job.

I should start by saying that I know a good bit about irrigation and have installed quite a few full systems in the past. So when I found a need for another zone due to damage from a flood and I did not have the time to do it myself, I wanted to make sure whoever did the work knew what they were doing. Tommy did my work and is a superbly competent irrigation technician. In addition, Victoria at the main office is a treasure, one of those rare office managers that knows what she is doing and does it flawlessly. Our work was particularly tricky, requiring them to work with a well, an irrigation pump, a long run down to the river at the back of the property and other challenges, including some flood damage to our existing system. But they were up to the task, showed up on time and did their work in the allotted time. They also made sure we received maximum benefit from the work, setting up things for possible expansion in the future. All in all, they were absolutely superb.

I broke the 24and quot; riser that was next to my driveway. D.R. Leach's Irrigation's phone number was noted on the RainBird irrigation controller box so I called them to make an appointment to come out to fix it. The woman who answered their phone was very pleasant and helpful. She told me it was $85 to come out. If they needed parts, that would be extra. We scheduled for the following week.

Tom Z and Billy were prompt and got to work immediately. Tom (?) recommended that I replace the broken 24and quot; with a 12and quot; riser. Since he was replacing the one, I asked him to go ahead and replace the 24and quot; riser on the other side of the driveway. After the risers were replaced, they checked the whole system.

I have had problems figuring out how to properly set the controller so I appreciate Tom ? taking the time to show me how to set the controller (which I am sure will save me a LOT in my water bill).

Their staff is professional, knowledgeable, and personable. D.R. Leach Irrigation will be my and quot;go-toand quot; company if/when I have any irrigation problems in the future.

This company just keeps getting better and better. I have used them for about the last four years and they are more responsive than ever before, from customer service department to the repairmen

My husband noticed that the grass in our back yard was dying shortly thereafter and that Zones 5 and 6 were now missing. He called them back about it and they came out and showed us that the sensors were loose...and what to do the next time - much appreciated!

I called this company (which I had used twice before) on 6/11/2013 and they scheduled me for the next day. The repairman
was here promptly as promised and got right to work, wasting not a minute. He adjusted some sprinkler heads and replaced
several rotating heads that were not working. The repairman, Tom, was excellent, he had the job completed in a little over an
hour. Amazing. Yes I will use them again.

DR Leach is immature, does not stand behind his work, readily admits to being defensive. When I called and spoke to the owner he laughed nervously and inappropriately, refused to replace the two extra sprinklerheads even when I told him that I had the old ones. He repeatedly talked immediately after asking me a question then said that I refused to answer his question. He used ridicule, and intimated that I was lying about knowing when the five sprinklerheads were replaced and continued laughing nervously. During 2011 and 2012 I spent almost $1,000 for irrigation work with this company. The owner said that just because I spent that much, I could not expect them to come out just any time and fix the sprinklerheads. Also, the office staff is very hostile and defensive. It's easy to see why they think it's acceptable to act in such a manner. There is no professionalism at DR Leach. I told him that I would post the incident on-line. He seemed not to care, so long as he had the money. I will not return and I told him so.

My experience with D.R. Leach was one of the best I've had with a service provider since moving to Jacksonville. The call was answered the first time. The person in the office was professional and responsive. Although this wasn't an emergency she told me a tech was in my area and may be able to come to my house the same day. The office called back and confirmed he would be coming that day. I was given the name of the person who would be coming and told he would call before he arrived. And he did!!!

When he got to my home I showed him the problem I was aware of and a line which had been accidentally cut by the removal of a root ball just before he arrived. He quickly repaired the line so the new tree could be installed. He checked all zones for coverage. Then he went to work to determine what was causing the pressure problems. The problem was quickly identified and corrected.

My experience with service providers in Jacksonville has not been good. That's why I joined Angie's List. Tom with D.R. Leach was prompt, professional, and thorough. If I need irrigation work in the future, I'll call D.R. Leach first.

Very well. The system was installed in one day and worked great.

They were very friendly. He quoted $1,000-$1,300 and let us have the lower price. They were on time and he called to let me know they were coming. Everything is working great. We would definitely use them again.

Terrible-see previous report.

Ask for Mike. He came out and made sure everything was working perfectly before the new sod was installed. After the sod installers destroyed the irrigation system Mike came back out and got it all working again. My lawn is beautiful becasue it has been getting the water it needs.

They were excellent and very accommodating. They were helpful in terms of making suggestions about ways to prevent issues in the future. We were very pleased with them. I will use them again in the future.

Mike, the service man, came right on time, quickly assessed the situation and gave me a quote. When I okayed the work, he immediately got started, replaced multiple sprinkler heads, repaired a leak, moved several sprinklers to more advantageous positions and "tuned up" my sprinler system. He was fast and efficient, didn't waste any time and gave me much better sprinkler coverage than I had, for what I considered to be a fiar price.

I used this company about 2 years ago to tuneup our lawn irrigation system. I was happy with their work, so I called them out again when the system stopped working. The technician showed up on time and quickly identified the problem as a failed valve. However, it took him longer than expected and a fair amount of digging to locate the valve. When he finally took the step of connecting the diagnostic tool directly to the outside wiring, he quickly found the offending valve and replaced it. But he probably spent close to an extra hour trying to make it work by connecting to the controller inside the garage. Overall, though, I was satisfied with the work and we split the labor cost of the extra hour.

Helpful advice on irrigation strategy.

Mike was great. He was prompt, called just before he arrived so we were able to be ready for him. He listened carefully as we explained what the problems were and what we wanted to happen, then he jogged back and forth across the yard (saving himself time and us money) to check the existing system. Next he changed a few of the heads so they would cover the uncovered areas, and pointed a few in different directions to increase coverage. Finally he gave us a much-needed lesson on our complicated system that was currently running multiple overlapping programs. He was patient with our dopiness about the system and explained it in a way that helped us to understand it so we wouldn't make the same mistakes again. He was kind, articulate, and respectful of our time and money.

Mike is great. He's been doing this for the company for 5 years and really cares about leaving system in tip-top condition. I walked it all with him and he was very good about explaining everything. Very professional but personable - clearly knows what he is doing. What a change from my previous service company. I'd recommend him unqualifiedly
