Initially this started as a service call on the existing HVAC system. When it became apparent that it was time to replace it, the service tech (someone we have known for years) had a salesman sent out. Luckily the tech stayed, because the salesman didn't seem very knowledgeable. We decided on a system and install was scheduled.
The installers arrived on time, but did not have everything they needed. They called to have the missing items sent, but the salesman was sent to deliver them. He had been here 3 days prior, but he got lost and went in completely the wrong direction. When they eventually found him and one of the guys went to meet him, he didn't have everything he was supposed to have.
The system was finally completed. Minus a filter that they just could not seem to get here with. This was supposed to be a COD job, but the installer's paperwork showed a balance owed of $0.01
We were told that the the salesman would be here the next day with corrected paperwork, and a filter. He must have gotten lost again. Nobody showed up. Also, after the installers left, I went in to the utility room where the unit is, and found that is was leaking water on the floor once it had run for a while. I called Peaden, got the answering service who said I tech would call me back. Nobody ever called.
I eventually found an air filter myself, the grille they installed is not a size that you can get filters for very easily around here. Eventually, someone from Peaden showed up to, as he said, "Try to collect on" the unpaid bill. For the record, I would have been perfectly content to pay the invoice the installer presented. Regardless, their clerical error was now apparently some kind of refusal to pay. So I gave the guy a check, explained WHY it had not been paid yet, and mentioned the filters again - He said that for all our trouble, he would have someone stop by in the next couple of days and deliver a case of filters. That never happened.
Also, this system qualified for a rebate from the electric company. The paperwork was to be submitted by Peaden. I think we can guess how that went, right? They never did the paperwork.
In short, this was a fiasco from the start. The equipment is great. The company, however, is a mess. I cannot recommend Peaden for anything. Based on experience with their HVAC and Electrical divisions, I'm not going to try their plumbing services. I do't suggest that you do, either.
