I had my 2010 mazda 6 tinted by them when I first got the car. A couple of years ago the tint started to peel. They re-tinted some of the windows under warranty. On Monday, 4/27/15 I called to make an appointment because a few of the other windows began to peel as well. They told me to come in Wednesday 4/29/15 between 9-9:30am.
I showed up Wednesday, 4/29/15 at 9:05am and when the owner (Mike Wilson) asked if it was for two windows I told him It was 2 or 3 windows and the small corner back windows as well. He asked which ones and I looked at the windows and showed him where two were peeling and the back corner windows (4"x6"). One of his workers then came out and asked what they had and Mike told him warranty work and they both seemed annoyed by having to do the work. The other worker told me they normally don't do re-tint unless its a sunny day. I told him sorry but I called and was told to come in Wednesday? He told me they normally tell people only if its a sunny day. I told him no one told me that on the phone. He then asked when I came in for warranty work last (about 2 years ago) wasn't it a sunny day??? Are you serious? You expect me to remember that? The owner Mike was there the whole time and they both seemed very annoyed and it made me feel so uncomfortable. I went to wait in their waiting area and called my wife and told her how they were acting. I decided to go back to make sure they knew the front tint was different then the back tint (god help if they had to redo that). I told the worker that I just wanted to make sure he was aware the front and back tints were different darkness. I told him I'm sure he probably knew but I just wanted to make sure. He looked at me and in a sarcastic tone said yes front is illegal and back is illegal right? I told him I didn't understand why I was getting such an attitude. It all came back to the fact they didn't like to re-tint when it wasn't sunny??? I'm not sure the reason, it's not like they are closing shop because of the rain. They are going to tint cars right? Either way that is not how you treat customers. After they finished I left and about an hour later called back to speak to Mike Wilson, the owner who was there the entire time and did nothing. I told him how I felt and how odd it was that he allowed his employee to speak to his customers that way and do nothing. He said all he can
say is sorry. Didn't really seemed worried about losing a 8 year customer. Angie's list has been great in finding people that want to go out of their way to make people happy. Wilson's Window Tint is not one of those people. A million other tint places that want your business. You should never be made to feel uncomfortable having warranty work done to fix a poor job or poor quality product. If anyone should have had the attitude it should have been the one who had to get the warranty work done to begin with?Licensing
