We hired Tornado to redo the flat roof, an area of less than 300 sq ft, and to replace some broken tiles on the larger roof. They 'sold' us the Gaco Silicone roof, as durable, maintenance free, with a five year warranty - that was April 2015. Three years down the road, there is nothing left from the silicone layers that were supposed to last 5 years. They certainly blamed on us, for not keeping the maintenance, which consisted of cleaning the leaves on the roof a couple of times a year. We kept the maintenance on schedule, but for this year, because the first cleaning was going to happen in June, second in Dec. They came back with a new estimate of 9,000 dollars (materials not included!!!), to replace 'partially' that roof area of less than 300 sqft. We had other estimates done, and a couple of them said 'whoever' did the Gaco roof, did not put the layers as they should, one silicone, one polyester and again one silicone, and confirmed that the roof was supposed to be maintenance free, as it is impermeable and could be wiped clean. The lateral areas of the roof, where no leaves fall (vertical areas) had nothing left of the silicone, which we learned cost 200+ a gallon and for that reason, they may have 'saved' some money on this job.

They said that they will not honored the warranty because I bought the house in 2014 and that I am not the one who contracted the original roof.  Nowhere in the documents (contract,quote, invoice) it says that the warranty is not transferable.

We feel like every time they came out they broke some of the roof tiles by walking on them. We have never really been happy with them. We got a quote from them and their price was three times higher than a vendor we found on Angie's List. I think they came when they said they were going to, but my husband was the one who was handling it.

"We've actually never cleaned Mr and Mrs. [member name removed] roof we've given them a price on it and that included pressure cleaning and any breakage to tile the pressure cleaning would cause if any . we've done 3 different repair jobs for them over the past 3 years. We are professionals and we don't break any tiles while we walk on the roof if we do then we go ahead and replace them at no extra charge as it should be, If Mr. and Mrs. [member name removed] felt this way they should have gave us a call after each repair we've done for them the last repair was done in March of last year. As far as we knew they were happy with our services as they kept calling us back."

I was new to the area and had little insight into what roofing companies were reliable in South Florida.  I found Tornado through a web search and saw positive reviews about them, so I gave them a call for roofing service.  I have had several issues with my roof since moving in (it ultimately needs replaced soon) and have used Tornado for the repairs on three separate occasions.  They repaired a leak on our drainage area and installed a gutter system to filter the water away from the house, and also repaired two other leaks on our roof in other places.  They always showed up on time, and from what I can tell, gave honest estimates with reasonable prices for the work being done.  I have had no issues with two of the jobs, and one small issue with one of the leaks, that began leaking again after a few months.  The company honored their warranty and promptly fixed the leak within a week.  They sent Hermon out for two jobs and I must commend him individually on his work as it was excellent.  I watched him repair the leak myself and was impressed with the attention to detail and quality of the job.  I have inquired about estimates with two other companies and must say Tornado is much above them both in terms of price.  I would recommend this company to others looking for quality roof work in South Florida and would use them again if necessary.

I obtained 3-4 estimates to patch two leaks and replace some broken tiles to my roof. It was previously repaired in 2007 for $750. by another Co. and now the same leaks reappeared. I choose Toronado Roofing to repair it this time. They were not the cheapest but their price seemed fair. The work was completed as stated and one month later 11/4/2010 the same leaks appeared after a heavy rain. I called the Co and because it was still under warranty they came and redid the work; it hasn't rained much since they came back so can't tell if this did the job. I am satisfied with all the people I spoke with in the Company, they were all very professional.

They are in the middle of doing the job right now. They are local and have been in business for a while. Price wise they were in the same ballpark as two other quotes that I had received. Give or take about $50, they are pretty much the same price. They are the only one that actually consistently followed up with me. The other ones gave the quote, walked away and never called again. They didn't even check in. I had told Tornado probably a month and they called me in a month. I am in sales and follow up means a lot. That is one of the reasons why I chose them. The overall experience for the quote process was good.

GREAT SERVICE, REASONABLE COST, PROMPT, AND A ONE YEAR WARRANTY. DID I SAY P-R-O-M-P-T, AND IN FLORIDA THAT IS BIG. THE ROOFER WAS THERE AND FIXED ROOF THE NEXT DAY!!
