Service was requested my my former wife, as the refrigerator had failed. I had not seen the invoice prior to paying. First glance would have told me something was amiss: The invoice (which looked like it was created by an amateur) only carried the name "Re Appliance" as the business we were working with. There were no names on the paperwork, only that the technician was "Rob". Another red flag was that there was no address as well. Only a phone number. The only other information on the invoice was that the work was warranted for 90 days.
Just 96 days later, the refrigerator died AGAIN. It looked like the same problem. When my ex wife called, he was completely defensive and stood on the fact that the 90 day warranty was over. She had been told he was using genuine parts. Because of this, she then asked him for the manufacturer of the parts so she could go after them for any attached warranties. This is when he became abusive to her saying "This conversation is over" then hung up the phone.
She had an alternate individual come out to check on the work, This Company (a valid one, I might add) rep told us that it appeared he had installed old used equipment in the unit. So, with this, I personally called Rob to discuss the matter. He did not return my call. When I called a second time he was loquacious but at least talking "at" me about the situation. I had difficulty trying to get a word in edgewise. He then added that he would rather not come back out on the job, saying he did not like dealing with my wife. I then asked for a partial refund of the $1,700 we had paid him. His response was an agitated "Absolutely Not" then went on about his 90 day warranty etc.
When I told him that the other repair company had suggested that old equipment had been installed by him, he went ballistic, telling me to reveal who had said that so that he could confront the person physically. His agitation soon became a screaming diatribe. When I finally got a word in, I informed him that I would be giving him negative feedback on appropriate venues. His screaming at me reached new higher octaves as he began calling me every insulting, filthy name in the book. Conversation ended.
I have built an successfully sold two business and have managed up to 60 employees at a time. I can unequivocally state that I have NEVER run into such a nasty individual in my 65 years. I can also state that the short fuse demonstrated by this individual should be a warning signal to anyone allowing him into their homes.
"I am responding to this members review first this was a built in older model kitchenaid . The charge was high this was a very big repair I did replace drain heater loop ,drier new service valve and new condesor fan motor for the record , I do not use used parts . I also throughly cleaned coils, because this is a sealed system problem there is no way to say the parts I replaced where the problem and I stand by the other Company who ever they are lied to make themselves look good which I never do .The wife was very rude to me so We where done and as per my written receipt which is very legitimate very I have been in business 25 years family owned and operated and I here many horror stories of customers getting ripped off I do not practice this. The customer asking for money back was not warranted I told the customer that I preferred to stay out of he's repair ,because he had another company recharge refigerator voids everything I did . I spent the entire day at there home they are selling into the night and as per my invoice states I can only guarantee the repair that was done at that time ex wife signed.I know this is a long response but I am passionate about my work and like I said in past people are more prone to write when they have a problem then when they are happy as in this case when it was working fine also the customer forgot to tell you that I was $1000 lower then the previous quote they had not counting new fan motor .thank you for reading, please see rest of my reviews and the customers I have made Happy."
I was very happy. He explained the problem, and my options.
"As the customer stated she called us back because we gave her good service I believe this was a waste of a review especially after I gave her good service , companies change policy all the time of areas they do service . I did not speak to this customer."
I used Robert at RE Appliance in the past to fix my refrigerator. It went so well that I didn't even think about calling anyone else when my dishwasher needed repair. I have a Bosch dishwasher and the control panel and handle on top of the door are made out of plastic. After pulling on it for several years, the plastic finally cracked. The control buttons fell out of the panel when the piece cracked. While the dishwasher was still working, I couldn't use it because I really couldn't open the door, and the buttons were no longer in place.
On top of that, my husband had at first tried to fix it himself. YIKES. Don't try to do this. It's harder than it looks.
Robert came out immediately?same day as I called. He is familiar with all of these appliances and knew exactly what had to be done. He also knew the most efficient way to order the new parts that I needed and he spent a lot of time on the phone making sure that ALL of the necessary parts were ordered at the correct price and would be delivered quickly. These are not parts that are kept in stock?so quick delivery was important.
As soon as the parts were delivered several days later, Robert returned to install everything. My dishwasher is now working perfectly once again.
The price for the parts and labor was extremely fair, especially since Robert had to make 2 trips and it also took quite a bit of time on the phone to get the parts order done correctly.
Robert's work is very neat and professional. He is also a very pleasant and polite guy?.which is important when you have someone working in your house.
$50, but $85. Good luck, but not with my money honey.
They gave me a lame excuse of my location and that?s why its
$85 and not $35. I live in west Miramar. I put in the locater of area of 25
miles and they came up so I called. Look, either you service the area or not,
but don?t fluctuate your price based on how far you need to drive.
"This review is just ridiculous never went to this person . I am in business and an honest one this person I believe is just cold hearted to take the time to just write a review soley based on just the price of the service call .He does not no me and just so he knows if you have the work done the service call is free we don't inculde in the repair. So if you are a reasonable person this review he wrote is a waste of time people are so quick to take the time to write a bad comment ,how about taking the time to write a good one and look at the comments customers did take the time to write good ones Thank you."
I found Re-Appliance after calling a few different repair places. I went with them because they were willing to come out today.
I was told on the phone that the service call would be $50 unless repairs had to be made then it would be parts and labor.
They showed up when they said they would and did call a few minutes ahead. My wife was home with our kids. The guy comes in and checks out the fridge. He was getting snippety with my wife when she tried to ask what it was he thought was wrong. He kept bringing up something about the kids leaving the freezer open which was not the case. He kept talking over her and things started getting argumentative.
He came to the conclusion that the freezer was not working properly because of a buildup of dust and other things on the back of the fridge.
At this point he tells my wife that he can blow it out for $125 dollars.
While my wife tells him that seems really expensive for just blowing out some dust. He goes into speech about how plumbers get paid for certain work etc.. etc.. while this was going on my wife notices some broken glass that was stuck behind the fridge. She gets a paper towel to pick up the glass and he starts ticked off. He tells her not to touch anything. At this point my wife yells back that it is her house and she can touch what she wants and that she doesn't want the service. He then grabs his stuff up and storms out. My wife tells him to hold on and she will write a check for his $50 service call. He tells her that he does not want her lousy $50, and mumbles other things about Angies List members. (My wife says he brought up angies list a few times like he was upset that we found him through the site).
Anyway long story short, They wanted to charge us $125 dollars to do what could be done with a paper towel , talked over the customer not really listening and then stormed out of the house when they were afraid they were not going to be able to get more money. Very unprofessional.
Do not call them unless you want phone calls from your wife crying.
"In response to this members review ,first I didn't see this earlier or I would have responded earlier. In regards to what this gentelman wrote that day running late letting them know in advance I was running late I was probably there late in the day around 5:00 or 6:00 pm to make the customer happy..When I went into this house ,I only asked if anyone left the door open because the refrigerator was pretty cool at this time the lady immediately got defense with me and told me the husband didn't know what he was talking about ,I then pulled the refrigerator out after asking politely to. Take all the stuff offf the top of refrigerator ,it was very hot behind the refrigerator and was ver very dirty and clogged around the condensor I explained what I could do for this problem they make it sound of coarse less then what I was going to do ,but was a labor at this point she did want to clean behind refrigerator and it was late in the day and I believe if she wanted to repair I would surely let her clean behind there when I was done the price that I quoted was fair by industry standards not all repairs are like this one.I certainly do appreciate the customers that call from ANGIES LIST .I believe it is human nature to write something bad then to take the time to write when good thingswhere done.So when this customer started to yell at me I would not have that and picked up my tools and left she never offered to pay for the service call I didn't collect a penny from them if they where not happy it is true I didn't want there money .I am a far and honest repair person and I don't think I should be yelled at .So I am sorry for this customer but please don't base your opinion of me on one review I have been in business for 20 years and have a lot of happy and loyal customers, and I truly try to make everyone happy ,but some customers you just can't thank you for understanding"
Starting at 10 pm, I called the top three rated Angie's List providers who list 24 hour service, and left an urgent message. As of Tuesday, 9/9, Re-Appliance is the only provider who called me back. Still have not heard back from AAA Century Appliance and GUNN APPLIANCE SVC. The owner's wife, who returned my call less than 20 minutes later, was very nice and thorough in her explanation of charges, including emergency. Luckily, we were able to store our items at my inlaws' place, so we did not need same night service. I made an appointment for someone to come out the next day, Saturday, between 9 am and 11 am.
The owner, Robert, called me on Saturday morning and asked for some additional details on the problem I was experiencing. Although I was the only customer scheduled that Saturday, he came out without hesitation, opened the freezer and immediately diagnosed the problem - the evaporator fan motor needed to be replaced. He provided us with an estimate and had the piece with him. He worked on the freezer for over an hour. When he was done, not only was the cooling immediately noticed, but the noise stopped. He saved us!
I recommend this company for many reasons. Besides being friendly, attentive, and quick to action, their customer service cannot be compared. Not only was I called back after 10 pm on a Friday night, but a repair was made the next day. They advertise 24 hour service and they delivered!
In the past, I've had some bad luck with Subzero repairs, like I felt I was really being ripped off. So I was very nervous about paying so much for another repair. I asked friends who had Subzero repairs and I checked Angie's List. I was very impressed with the reviews of RE Appliance and also a personal friend recommended this company as well.
The repairman, Robert, (who is also the owner), was a breath of fresh air !!! He was prompt, polite, courteous, and knowledgable. He was very patient with all of my questions. He explained all about the problem and what it would take to fix it. He explained alternatives as well.
He had to order new parts and it took only a couple of days. Ordering Subzero parts can often take a lot longer. He tried to accommodate my time schedule for the repair. He is very pleasant to work with.
When he was finished, everything was put back together and working well.
Even though $800 is a lot of money, I felt it was a very fair price because I know what repairs on Subzeros cost and this job took almost 3 hours to complete. Subzero parts are also very expensive.
I would not hesitate to use RE Appliance again and will enthusiastically recommend them to my friends.
When I asked about the squeaky dryer he took the time to look at it, explain to me what was happening. He had the part needed in his truck so he repaired the dryer. Saved me from making another appointment time.
"In regards to [member name removed].We did go to this customer back in December 6 2012.Refrigerator not cooling properly. For this Problem we advised her she needed defrost heater kit assembly. She agreed to repair we replaced the parts and defrosted Her coil. The price was $300 plus tax , but we did give her senior discount made it 285.00 plus tax.She was calling us back 7 months later claiming she was having the same problem ,remember the parts and labor are stated on the reciept 90 days and 90 days from what she described I did not feel this was the same problem so we advised this would be a new service call ,she wanted us to come out for free to check out her problem I am sorry for her issue but I believe we where fair and honest, but you can not make everyone happy even if you feel you are right. HAVE A NICE DAY."
