1. Poolscapes and I had a meeting about the specifications I wanted for the pool including the exact pipes. The owner, Stuart, did not like the way I wanted it done, but said he would do it my way. He then proceeded not to. Specifically, he installed undersized pipes which are now under a concrete pad by my pool and almost impossible to change. 2. Poolscapes mis-installed the fixtures in the pool, they are not flush and do not look right. 3. Poolscapes tried to put an inferior plaster in the pool than they bid (tried to use Florida Gem when Pebbletech was speced). 4. Poolscapes installed an umbrella hole in my pool for some unknown reason, this is funny because the umbrella hole is under my roof and not requested. The hole is a tripping hazard as it is in the beach area of the pool and quite large. 5. Poolscapes installed a lap swimming jet system in my pool and drilled multiple sets of holes in the side of the pool to do so. They never spoke to me about where I might want it or how I may want to control it. They just took my money and put it wherever it might be convenient to install regardless of how useless to me the placement might be. 6. Poolscapes never put the proper amount of salt in my salt pool even though they turned on the salt system. I had it tested at the local pool shop and then bought strips to confirm that almost no salt was in my new pool. I then went to the pool shop and added the right amount of salt. I retested myself with strips and had the pool store confirm that the salt level was right (3400 ppm for those who care) . Despite having the right amounts of salt, my salt generator installed with the the new pool by Poolscapes still said the salt was wrong. My GC called Poolscapes with me and told them in front of me per my instruction that the pool chemistry was right and not to add any chemicals. Poolscapes said in front of me that someone would be by the house in the afternoon that day and I said I wanted to be there. The person did not show up. The next day, they came to my house and added 160 pounds of salt specifically against instructions (so I deduced from testing the water). My wife told them not to and they acted like she was an idiot. They admitted they did not test the water before adding the salt. Adding salt did not fix the problem (it was not the problem in the first place), and resulted in me having to drain 4,000 gallons of water from my pool and refilling the 4,000 gallons as well as having to re balance all the chemicals that were perfect before Poolscapes screwed them up. Total cost to me, about four hours of wasted time and $150 in chemicals and water. Looking online, I learned the only problem is that the salt cell was mis-calibrated. A little research showed me I could fix the problem myself in ten minutes as long as I knew the proper salt level. Bottom line is I would never use this contractor again.
Description of Work: Poolscapes, Inc. designed and installed a pool at my new residence.
