Pink Moving

I interviewed 3 companies for my move last July. One which I contacted based on their online ratings and feedback was Fort Lauderdale Moving and Storage. Who came to my house based on that call was Pink Moving. When I questioned the estimator, he said they worked together. Their quote was out of my price range and I told them so. After that they contacted me 3 separate times to offer their services, each time at a more reduced rate, until finally they offered to do the job at the price within my budget. Please keep in mind THEY contacted ME, not the other way around. I was SUPPOSED to be given a FULL SERVICE move which included packing, moving, and unpacking at my new location. I had a 3 story townhome at the time and questioned how they were going to do this in one day, but they said they'd send enough movers and it would be no problem. The day they showed up for the move, they brought a 24 foot BUDGET RENTAL TRUCK to move my 3 story townhome, NOT one of the huge companhy moving trucks that were pictured on their brochure. Immediately the foreman of the job questioned how the job was bid, as he was baffled as to how someone could have come to my home, seen it's contents, and sent the workers as unprepared as they were. There were only 4 men to pack, move, and unpack my home in one day. I asked him what I was supposed to do and he said to just go about my day. I bought them breakfast and at around lunch time, which I also purchased for them, I came to realize that there was NO way this job was getting done. I asked the foreman if I should call in help and he said it was probably a good idea. For the next 8 hours myself, my father, and my handyman moved truckload after truckload of items from my home. So much for afull service move? In addition, NOT ONE SINGLE ITEM was unpacked at my home, as it was 3:30 in the morning when the final truckload (they of course had to make more than one trip with a miniscule 24 foot truck) made it to my home. There were still large items left at the starting location so the foreman agreed to come back the following day and help my husband move those items, which he did. I have to say that the men sent for my move were professional and worked like animals, however the management that I was involved with that bid and booked this job were horrendous, deceitful, and disgustingly rude when I brought these issues to their attention later. I completely gave up on having anything unpacked, so we settled for paying for the job in full despite the fact that it was only 2/3 complete. The proverbial straw broke the back when we were unpacking and organizing over the next few days and noticed that our $800 generator was missing. We noticed it missing because the huge power cord that belonged to it as well as the extra large gas can that sat next to it originally in our garage were both present, but no generator. When I called the company regarding this, they said their employees didn't steal it (which I believe) and that perhaps I should look at my own father and handyman, who I was with the entire day. The person I spoke to, who was also the estimator who came to my home, was rude, crude, disrespectful and treated me appallingly. The bottom line is my generator went missing, which isn't a big surprise since my entire home was open from the garage, to the front door, to the side French doors, with absolutely no one there to keep an eye on anything since I was told specifically by the foreman "to go about my day" and later ended up having to help them move. In the past when I hired movers, there was ALWAYS one person assigned with the duty of watching the open truck and open home. This was not the case in this instance. In addition, I filed a claim for the generator (after I had to request a claim form 5 times!) with the company and NEVER EVEN RECEIVED A RESPONSE, to get $135 towards my $800 generator. The reason 2 company names are listed above is that Pink Moving was who I received the quote from and the t-shirts they wore when they showeid up at my door (despite the Budget moving truck) and the Bill of Lading when we paid for the services we didn't even receive had "Laprom Moving" at the top of it. Deceipt from beginning to end. I feel so unbelievably violated and every time I think of this experience I literally want to cry. Companies like this need to be stopped, the problem is they go on changing their names and continue to steal from the public.
