I gave a bad review over the weekend first thing this morning they sent some one out to check my unit and yes it was the coil for third time and it was changed with no cost to me the women I dealt with today very nice . The coil was going to be installed on Thursday morning but she called and had the part in the office so it was done today thank you for that I do understand that the coil is made by Rheem and not Lindstrom air but it is still ****** me off how many times this coil has been changed in a three yr old unit Rheem makes cheap parts.

The coil was replaced on 6/17/17 three days later it ran 5-6 hours before it shut off a few days later same thing and so on now Day 8/5/17 running all day temp in the house 78-79 degrees and won't shut off so I call lindstrom air to tell them my problem and joey tells me there is nothing he can do until Tuesday between 11-1 pm and he tells me to turn off my air conditioner so I don't cause any more damage to the unit I paid 933.00 dollar for labor and the part to come out and the new one to go in then I paid a 189.00 dollars for there maintenance packages and I can sit here for three days with no air so I think there over all is an F I have to use them to fix there problem

I almost never write reviews. That being said I want to insure no one ever has to suffer the horrible experience I was made to suffer at the hands of completely incompetent people. Here is my story. When the Technician arrived after 10 minutes of looking at the thermostat he told me I needed a new thermostat. I told him this is a Bryant AC and I think I need to get a Bryant Thermostat. The Technician proceeded to tell me I was incorrect. I could use any thermostat, a PROFESSIONAL can hook up any thermostat but they need to look at the wiring to figure out how. He also would use one from his van to verify. He hooked up the system and verified it did worked. I asked him again are you sure it is working. the Technician said yes. I told him I am going to the store now to buy a new one I will be back before you finish. When I got back the technician had put my old thermostat back. I asked him how to hook up the new one. I wrote down everything he told me step by step. After he left I replaced the thermostat exactly how he told me and left the air running. The system never kicked on. The fan was running but nothing else. after an hour I called up Lindstrom asking them to send someone else out. I was told since its late I would have to wait for the emergency technician. 2 hours later I was so uncomfortable with the heat in my house I decided to see if I could fix the issue. Since I was given the instruction on how to install the new thermostat and assured (through testing) it would work, I did not take a picture of the old wiring set-up. I had to tinker with the setup to get it to work. after a while I finally got it to work. The emergency technician finally arrived (7 minute warning!!! 30 minute warning is a joke) shortly after I got the AC to work and looked at how I hooked it up. He said it was correct. he checked a few things inside and outside then left. I told the technician I want a manager to call me tomorrow. The next day a manager call and informed me it was my fault for listening to the technician. I should have done my own research on what my system was capable of. Worse yet she informed me since I listed to their technician I was responsible for any restocking fee for the thermostat i purchased. I was also responsible for a service that I am not sure even took place. All I saw was him replace my thermostat and test the generic one. Granted I did not stand behind him the whole time. I had to work so I was in the room next to the AC on my computer. The manager said it was my responsibility to stand behind the technician to insure he did all the work he said he did. He didn't do any work that they claim he did. I would have heard the purging of a system but I did not. I am now stuck with a bill from Lindstrom and a restocking fee for a thermostat I was instructed to buy.
Description of Work: Called Lindstrom Air Conditioning & Plumbing because I was seeing "replace filter indicator" on my thermostat minutes after I have changed the filter and reset the warning. I asked they do a maintenance and check the thermostat.

Installers ignored my request to fully secure and properly insulate refrigeration lines, even though wall mounted mounting system existed from old system, duct taped insulation instead of using adhesive which has completely deteriorated . The communications were condistending and all but useless

When Lindstrom installed my Trane 4 ton system in 2007, I was very complimentary of their service. Over the next 10 years I experienced a gradual decline in both their service and the skill level of their technicians. For the entire 10 year period, I paid for a twice a year system maintenance. I believe the price was $189 per year. In recent years, the maintenance work became sub par at best. In several cases, I had to call to have the technician come back to clean or fix something that should have been handled during the initial maintenance call. For the past couple of years, I would end up cleaning the air filtration system myself because it was obvious that the technician had not cleaned it (which is part of the maintenance). The other issue that is very frustrating is that Lindstrom will not call you at 6 month intervals to schedule the semi-annual check-ups. Unlike all other home service contracts, they make it the homeowner's responsibility to monitor maintenance intervals. When I asked several years ago why they do not call to arrange an appointment for their service, I was told they are too busy and it is the homeowner's responsibility??? During the course of 10 years I overlooked several semi-annual maintenance services, since keeping track of service schedules should not be my priority, but should be the service provider's priority. The most recent service deviation came this past month when our A/C started blowing "cool" air. The July temperatures reached 88 degrees in our home. I called Lindstrom and a technician came out and said the air handler coil had frozen up. He said to let it thaw out and he would be back later in the day to diagnose the problem and charged us $89 (for a 10 minute service call). He never came back and at 9:30 pm another technician showed up to diagnose the problem. He checked the pressure on the outside A/C unit and said it was leaking R-22 Freon. He said that a pound of Freon would cost $125 and that the unit would require several pounds amounting to several hundreds of dollars. He recommended that he set up an appointment for an estimate on a new system for the next day. A Lindstrom sales person came the next day and quoted us $8,000 for a new system. During that same day, I was explaining our situation to our next door neighbor and he suggested getting a second opinion from his A/C company. His company came our the same day and pressure tested the R-22 lines. The technician said the R-22 was 2 pounds low and that it would cost $120 (including the service call) to top it off. He also explained that the low R-22 is what caused the inside coils to freeze up. I asked what he charged for R-22 and he told me $20 per pound (not $125 that Lindstrom quoted)! He added the Freon and the A/C immediately started blowing 52 degree cold air! It has now 2 weeks later and we are still blowing cold air! Three(3) Lindstrom "professionals" came to our house and not one suggested topping off the R-22 to see if their really was a leak or the level had just gotten low over the 10 years?? All they wanted to do was sell a new system for $8,000. A very sad commentary on how Lindstrom treats a customer's 10 year relationship with them!

The installation was done great, but the shower panel I bought was defective. Although there was no fault on Lindstrom's part, they worked with me to minimize the installation cost to replace the unit. All work was done on a timely basis to my satisfaction. Alex, who was the plumber who worked with me from start to finish, was great! I would recommend Lindstrom in a heartbeat and will definitely be using them again.
Description of Work: Alex, the plumber sent by Lindstrom, initially came to inspect a problem I noticed with the pipe that supports the shower head. He discussed his concern and some possible alternatives. I decided that installing a self-contained shower panel would be the best solution. I ordered one and then scheduled Alex to come back and install it. There were several visits involved due to a defect in the shower panel I purchased. Lindstrom was very flexible and supportive throughout the entire process.

Our serviceman arrived and unclogged the clogged drain pan, but he did not perform a full check-up or maintenance on our A/C like we clearly requested. There are several alerts on our A/C panel telling us we needed to replace UV bulb, etc. and all of this was ignored by the person doing the service. When we called for the service, we asked to have the entire unit checked/tuned AND to have the drain issue resolved. Turns out, not all of this request was relayed to the technician. When I called back to get assistance, the person on the phone did not accept any responsibility for the fact that the appointment setter failed to tell the person doing the service that they were there for the checkup/tune-up and not just the drain. Instead of addressing the issue, I felt as if they were putting the blame on me. I requested to speak to a supervisor, and I was told they were not available and they would call be back the next day. Well, it's been weeks now and I'm still waiting for a "supervisor" to call me back.

Horrible. Lindstrom would be hard pressed to have done more wrong. They skipped a service call, they didn't call us back multiple times, they did not stand behind their recent previous work, they took way too long to diagnose and never explained the problem, and they were rude initially to our tenant and eventually us. We have spent approx $15,000-$18,000 for their services in recent years including multiple AC service calls, 2 full new AC units on 2 different properties, 1 Water heater, multiple plumbing calls, and a service contract on another property. We never had a problem with their service and I have, in the past, given them outstanding grades here on Angies list(see for yourself.) This simple service call went SO poorly that we will never use their services again in any capacity. We will find a new provider for our properties. The initial cost to make this service call was $85 and things went so poorly from there that it cost Lindstrom a customer that had spent thousands over years and likely would have spent thousands more.
Description of Work: On Thursday we scheduled a call with Lindstrom to visit a rental property because the tenants reported the AC was not working properly. We scheduled the appointment for the earliest available time, which was Saturday afternoon. Saturday the technician came out and said he couldn't perform the work at that time and had to come back in a few hours. Our tenants noted that the technician was somewhat rude. Nobody came back until the following day(Sunday) at which time a new technician noted to our tenants that the part that was broken was the same part that broke in 2016, for which we paid $467. He told the tenants he would call the landlord(us) and go over everything. He never called us. In fact, through this entire process nobody from Lindstrom ever called us except to verify a credit card prior to the initial visit. On Sunday evening we called to find out exactly what was going on and why after 3 days we still had not heard back from the company with a quote. All of the information we had was through our tenants. We got a hold of a young man who seemed to not have much information on the call except a quote for a part he could not name or explain. He also could not tell me when this part could be installed because he didnt know if it was available from the manufacturer. He said he would know more Monday morning and Lindstrom would all back between 10 and 11 am with a more information and to schedule the repair. Once again, nobody called. And might I mention this is the middle of a hot Florida summer and our tenants are without AC this entire time that Lindstrom cannot bother to call us back. We eventually called and got yet another person who seemed to know very little aside from what she was reading off a computer screen. She claimed, like the man the night before, that nobody had spoken to the technician so no explanation could be given about all of the previous failed callbacks. Since she was not a technician she could not explain exactly what was wrong with the unit except to quote a price of $780 for a part. She confirmed that this was the same part that had been replaced 1 year previously. I asked why they were charging me so much compared to the previous year($467 in 2016 and $780 in 2017) and she changed her story telling me the $780 was JUST for labor because they were not charging me for the part because it was covered by a manufacturer's warranty, which she could not provide me. Again, the part + labor only cost $467 in 2016, so this quote is outrageous. She said the earliest she could schedule us was for Tuesday afternoon at which point we began calling around and found someone else to come repair it that afternoon.

I was about to leave Lindstrom after being a customer for 20+ years. I had one maintenance left on my contract and I figured after that, I would go with a different company. The reason I was considering leaving is that all the ' Comfort Expert Tech's' that I have known through the years have all left the company. As so many companies do....I felt Lindstrom had forgotten, " They are Only as Good as their Employees!" So Treat Them Well!! The new [and I thought last] Tech #414, Sam came yesterday, HE WAS TERRIFIC!! I have 3 AC units, all located in the attic. I usually use a 'Service Expert' for Trane AC's,but since I was planning on leaving Lindstrom, as everyone that had serviced my home, had left the company...I thought, I would get the last maintenance and go to another company. To my surprise, Sammie, Teck #414 [Sam] was Amazing!! He is not yet NATE certified but he should be! This is the type of 'AC Teck' that made Lindstrom a household name in South FL. Sam would have made the founder of Lindstrom proud! Sam, was a true professional and cared about doing the maintenance right! It is because of his knowledge, hard work, caring and professionalism that I renewed my contract for another year, with Lindstrom! I hope the company will know they have an asset in this employee. I think, I have enough experience after 20+ years to know a good ac tech when I see how one works! I would like to stay with Lindstrom, as we have been with them since the father started the company. They were a great company at one time....and if they keep people like Sam....they will be a great one again! I wanted to leave this review because Sam was excellent...but I fear I might not get him again because everyone will be requesting him!/!

Before calling Lindstrom, I had to have gone through a grocery list of plumbers, who either came out 3 hours later then the scheduled time, never showed up, or when they finally did come out, they showed little interest in actually fixing the problem. It was a subtle surprise when I scheduled an appointment with Lindstrom and they were at my house ON TIME! From then on, things only got better. We had a gentleman named Tim, who had 30+ years in the plumbing industry, who came out and was enthusiastic to help us solve our plumbing issues! He was Professional, Friendly and worked with a sense of urgency. He completed the work and had our pipes running like new! After this experience with the best in the business, I will only be calling Lindstrom for all my plumbing services

My water bill was very high. I called them and technician took a long time to fix the problem. I won't know if it is fixed until my next water bill. I had a bad incident with him (technician) and felt intimidated and had been talked into giving him an exhorbitant tip on top of the cost of the repair. If I didn't give him tip he said he would make my bill more.

When I bought the house back in 2012, because the previous owner had used them, I thought I would use them for the service contract. But that's not what I have a problem with. The problem was that they had installed the units here. They did not install them properly in the garage and the condensation pans overflowed. The water got in the wall. We had mold all inside the house on the back wall. The unit is supposed to be installed level. These were tilted toward the house. The pans are suppose to have a sensor, but because they were not level the water dripped out against the house and the sensor did not work. I didn't know anything about all this. They came to do the service work and never told me about this. They should have told me that the pans were not level and needed to be balanced. Maybe they just weren't observant. I had to tear out the walls and re do the bathroom. They sold a case of the fan filters for $350.00, I could have bought them for $15.00 each. I called them up and said, you do not have to match Amazon, but at least be competitive. I understand you need to make a profit. She called me back and told me they would not reduce the price. I thought they were ********, pardon my language. I just don't think it's right to gouge people and I think that's what they were doing. This was the straw on the camel's back when I switched firms. They probably lost $25,000 over the last three years when I moved firms.

Setting the appointment was easy. Was told the plumber would be here between 11 and 1. Got a call at 12:45 saying the tech is on the way and will be there in 15 minutes. Had to call around 2:15 because no one showed up or called. They just said sorry for the delay tech will be there soon. The guy had an attitude problem the whole time. Every time he had to do something you could hear him huffing and puffing like he didn't wanna be here. He attempted to snake the drain but it didn't work. Then told us he had to look at the pipes on the roof but he wasn't gonna do it now because he didn't want to get wet. Terrible service, will never use them again or recommend them to anyone.
