NEVER USE THEM. STAY AWAY. THEY ARE UNPROFESSIONAL, DON'T KNOW THE LEGAL OR ETHICAL STANDARDS FOR THIER TRADE. I CANNOT SAY ANYTHING ELSE UNTIL MY 15 MONTH LAWSUIT IS OVER.

After installing impact windows and doors throughout the house, we decided to get a wind mitigation report to send to our insurance company. Our installer had recommended we turn to Home Team for that and we called them. The call was handled well, the quote, $225, seemed fair and a service date was chosen. Ron Fairchild, the inspector, arrived at the scheduled time, reviewed what he was going to do with us and performed a thorough inspection. Afterward, he reported what he'd found and told us to expect a detailed report that would be emailed to us within a week. A 75 page report, complete with pictures arrived a few days later. I forwarded it to my insurance company and a day later was informed that we'd earned a $900 reduction in our annual bill. A good experience all around.

It did not go well. The team cut corners and assumed that a new home wouldn't have problems. Now, I'm still dealing with their incompetence 1.5 years later. Thanks a lot, HomeTeam.

Overall I was pleased with the quality of the inspection, however, there were no pictures provided, which caused a real problem as I will explain. I was buying a home that needed a possible 4 inspections: general home inspection for purchase, 4 point and mitigation for insurance and if necessary mold inspection with lab results. The estimates were $460 for the primary inspection, another $450 for the mold and $300 for the 4 point and mitigation. Because this was a great expense I asked MIke if he could work with me and he did. We agreed that I would pay for the first primary inspection and that the master inspector Robert would assess whether or not I needed the mold, on site. Further we agreed that Robert would do everything necessary for the 4 point and mitigation but I would only pay for and receieve the report if the initial inspection went well and I decided to proceed with the purchase. I was appreciative of this step by step approach. As it turned out the house needed a new roof immediately, within 45 days to be able to be insured in contradiction to the seller's disclosure that the roof was only 10 years old roof and in good shape. There was also a possible structural problem and some wiring issues which also required correction within 45 days, to be insurable. The team was prompt and thorough. All four gave me a verbal report at the site. Robert deferred to a structural engineer for that issue, which would cost me yet another, additional $300. It was the New Years weekend and I was pressed due to time issues, as per my contract. Again, they worked with my deadline and emailed me the written report quickly. However, there were no photographs attached. I expected a full set of pictures, with detailed ones of the of any problem area. I called Mike and he said they don't provide photos for this inspection, only for the 4 point, if I was moving forward with the purchase. I had bought 4 homes prior to this and in all four instances I was given photos to accompany the reports, with detailed close-ups of any problem areas. I never thought to ask Hometeam if they provided the pictures taken. I believed this was standard practice as per my experience and because they did indeed take pictures on site. I could not understand why they were not provided. When I contacted the structural engineer, he immediately asked for those pictures. He also could not understand why Hometeam did not provide them. He told me that he could possibly save me the $300 if he could simply look at pictures of the cracks first. If he thought it was real issue, he would then schedule an inspection Without pictures I had to decide if I wanted to spend yet another $300 at this point. I called Mike again. This time he sent me pictures of the wiring box, and a different crack near a door, no pictures of the structural question. He said that Robert never took pictures of this. Why not? This was the biggest potential problem and it should have been highlighted and focused on. I felt that he should have had Robert go back and get the necessary pictures, both in and out. I would have insisted, but at that point my gut feeling was to walk away from this house and so I did not pursue the issue. But I also decided not to use Hometeam again because of it. Word of warning, confirm that the inspector will provide pictures for all inspections, not just the 4 point.

They were very communicative from the time I scheduled the appointment through to the actual inspection, keeping me up to date on what was going on.
During the time of inspection, it was quite windy and raining, but Robert (the inspector) kept the appointment and performed all the necessary inspections and photos. This included going up on the roof and checking other various outdoor areas. He was very professional and thorough and even provided us the full inspection report that evening (via email) as we had mentioned that we needed to get it to our insurance agent fairly quickly. I expected it a few days later, but received it that evening.
We have used this company previously and received the same professional services at a competitive price. Overall, the experience was fantastic, and we will definitely use them again for our future inspection needs.

I used this company for 3 home inspections in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. The first two homes I wanted to buy had problems which the inspection teams uncovered. In the first home, there was unual and excessive mold found. In the second home, there were multiple leaks in the roof. The third time, there were no major deficiencies found, and I bought that home.
These inspectors are very professional; they arrive on time and conduct extremely thorough home inspections (the inspections took in excess of 2 hours in each instance). There are usually four inspectors conducting simultaneous examinations of the roof, building construction, HVAC system and mold/radon testing.
The basic home inspection cost roughly $200; the radon testing cost $350, and the mold tesing cost $450. Because I used them previously, the 2nd and 3rd home inspections were discounted.
Home inspection results were available the day following the inspection, and the radon and mold testing results were available within 5 business days following the test period.
I would use this firm again if I were buying another house in the West Palm Beach - Palm Beach Gardens area. Everything went smoothly and the office help was extremely pleasant and accomodating. All in all, a great experience(s) with a truly fine firm.

They did it for me twice. They did one in August and the other one in September. They seemed very honest and very good. I think they were as good as I could get. It is a company that I would recommend to anybody. I would give them the top grading. They were outstanding in terms of their professionalism.

The Home Team provided helpful and responsive service to an out-of-state investor to evaluate a condo, even rescheduling to accommodate the tenant. A complete report and discussion with inspector helped me to identify needed repairs. Also provided a referral list when I asked so I can select dependable contractors to handle maintenance and remodeling tasks on the unit.

I was very disappointed with the HomeTeam Inspection Service. They missed a lot of stuff. But if you read the fine print they are not really responsible for anything they do or do not find. The HomeTeam Inspection Service missed a lot of things, took no responsibility, and they said that they don’t really say anything that is less than a $1000. They missed that my front doors were warped, they missed that the stone top was bigger than it should have been for my counters by code, they missed the upper kitchen cabinets being below normal depth, they missed many other things of moderate import. It is not the end of the world but I should have been told. It will take several $1000s to replace my front door. So I would not use HomeTeam again. They seem to have fulfilled the legal requirements of their contract, but I felt that they were not interested in doing the most for the client..
They found roof tiles that needed replacing, and noted that the jacuzzi appeared inoperable among a few other thing, but with all of their seemingly highly qualified staff, a lot more could have been mentioned at no additional cost to them.

Response from HomeTeam Inspection Service
"Please find attached a copy of the contract signed and agreed to by the member and a copy of his inspection report. It is clear from his comments that he did not read the terms and conditions of the contract, and he did not read his inspection report and action our recommendations in a timely manner. An inspection price comparison will clarify that the price he paid was actually less than two major competitors."

We contacted The Home Team and they were able to schedule the inspection to meet our schedule. They arrived with a team of highly professional and thorough inspectors. They were knowledgeable and patiently explained everything they found. We have purchased several homes and their service was 10X better than any previous vendor we have used. We received a fulsom report within 2 days which enabled to make a well informed decision on the property. Note the pricing included a Wind Mitigation Report for insurance purposes.
Response from HomeTeam Inspection Service

They were accomodating in getting a date that worked with our tight schedule. The master inspector arrived early and the others on time. We received the detailed report the next day. Not sure how the price is compared to other companies but I felt we got our money's worth. I would definitely use them again.
