Paul never finished the job. He left a large hole in the yard that someone could fall into and be injured. I phoned and asked him to place stakes around it with some yellow tape to caution against injury for liability purposes. He stated he would but didn't. I live 235 miles away now. I was promised completion by 11/30-12/1 weekend. I phoned and texted Paul asking if he would be there. He did not respond. My tenants informed me the hole was filled in that weekend and sprinkler heads were left laying about but there was no one there working and the sprinklers were not working. Again I called and texted asking for status and again I was ignored. At this point, I phoned John The Plumber asking if someone could look at the job as it's only 1 mile from their office and John lives in my neighborhood. I called the following day to follow up and was told by Sonia she had contacted Paul, he said he was in Chicago to attend a funeral and the job would be finfished upon his return. He told her the job was complete except for a timer and thatI had been made aware of this, which I had not. That was on Wed. 12/4. The following weekend arrives, I again phoned for status. He again does not respond. My tenants inform me no one has been there and the sprinklers have not been running.
Description of Work: Paul was hired to repair or replace an old sprinkler system that had not worked since I bought the property in 2004. I knew there were some broken pipes from a large tree that had since been removed. I had been watering the lawn manually but I was now moving upstate and renting out the property so the irrigation system needed to be repaired. He was referred to me by John The Plumber who I've used for many years with great satisfaction so I respected their opinion. Paul and his sidekick showed up11/23 stated they could repair my sprinkler system, began to work, asked for a lot of money for materials, never finished the job, do not respond to phone calls or texting and cannot be reached.
