Dr Brakes - Coral Springs

Called to schedule my OIL CHANGE several times over 2 weeks. They always said they didn't have time. And to call back again the next day.

Just had the work done yesterday. The performance is great. Price was excellent. People were friendly. It took a little longer than promised.

We decided to use Dr. Brakes as we had had a satisfying experience with them prior to this service. We had brought in a 1998 Honda for analysis and were told that due to the age and mileage of the vehicle we should forego the many repairs required and save our money as the value of the car did not warrant the expenditure. We appreciated the frankness and honesty of the service people as they gained our trust with that analysis - so we brought in the 2009 CR-V. Later, we returned with the 1998 vehicle one more time as the engine light was on - and again were reassured that it was a minor glitch and nothing needed to be done. We will continue to use Dr. Brakes as long as their excellent service continues and we will recommend them to others. We had used two other services satisfactorily [for a period of time] until we experienced unreasonable and unprofessional treatment from them.

I used to take most of my repairs to the dealer, but after going through the 2 that were fairly close to me and being made to feel unimportant by not having my phone calls to service advisors returned.
I decided to find a guy who could do the brake job I needed through Angie's List.  
I'm sure many people feel uncomfortable taking their car to someone without a recommendation, hearing horror stories of dishonest repair shops.
Well, have no fear with Dr. Brakes - Coral Springs.... Ron the owner and his manager Mike are in a word, GREAT.
Easy going, and willing to take the time and explain any questions you may have, also they didn't try to sell me other services, like front brakes (they told me I probably have a good (10,000 miles left on them) and they gave me options on the rear brakes they could install and the three different prices.  
I'll definitely be back with my car and my wife's when any repairs are needed, as they do it all, not just brakes.

Dr Brakes has always been my shop of choice.  If you are looking for an honest reliable shop, this is your shop.

Overall not a bad experience.
Plus:
Was able to get right in.
Work seems to be done with expected quality
Cons:
Took longer than quoted, which was a pain because I was waiting onsite for the work to complete.
Car came back with grease smudges on the hood/fender and door handle (inside)
Things I think could be improved.
Service writer - not unpleasant or rude, but could be more friendly. 
Cleanliness - would have been great if the service tech could have take the extra 3 minutes to wipe any grease smudges off the car.
Once car was ready and I paid and was ready to go, took a while to get the car pulled around front so I could leave.

Everything was completed as projected and the bill was less than I expected. However, they refused to work on another problem I had involving my power front seat.

As usual, everything went better than expected.  I've been working on my own cars for over 25 years because I don't trust that mechanics can do as good a job as I can.  I say this because I believe nobody is going to put in the effort and care that I can myself.  Well, that is besides Dr Brakes.  I am amazed at the work that they do here.  It's like they are working on their own cars.  Also, they point out everything that "could" be done to the car and advise as to what the priorities are.  Rather than saying "this must be done" as other shops do, they simply provide options and what they would do if it were their own car.  Big cost savings, quality parts, excellent workmanship, and many other reasons are why I always strongly advise people that I know to visit Dr Brakes.  This is THE ONLY place I trust to work on my car.

This is a general review of our 6-year relationship with Dr. Brakes located in Coral Springs, FL.  Having lived in Coral Springs for almost 20 years. we have used several of the local "chain" service centers for oil changes and repairs on our family vehicles. Over time, we became discouraged with the lack of personal attention, slow services, and rising prices.
I first visited Dr. Brakes, upon a friend's recommendation, approximately 6-years ago. I spoke with Mike and explained that if they would take care of our vehicles as if they were their own, I would be a customer for a long time. In other words, EARN my loyalty!
This is exactly what they have done. I believe that their work is 2nd to none, their pricing is fair, and our cars are ready with no delays.
Ron and Mike - Mike and Ron - remember these names. They will take care of your service and repair needs. AND if they cannot perform the task, they will recommend someone to assist.
I highly recommend Dr. Brakes for your Auto Service needs.

Ron and mike are truely the best mechanics around, I go to them for all of my car service needs, and ive never had a problem with the service. They are very knowledgeable and wont over charge for whatever you need like these other mechanic shops. They will walk you through the problem you have with the car and actually show you and explain how it will be fixed. Simply the best

I called Ron (Owner) about my truck that had stalled. Told him I would charge the battery in the AM and it would run all day but die by the end of the day. He and I both believed it to be the alternator. It was 30 min. after their closing time but he insisted it was OK to come by that night ( impressive ). I elected to bring it in the morning. Ron wasn't in just yet but Mike ( Manager) was and was very helpful. They installed a new alternator in under an hour ( Again quite impressive ) I got two other quotes both stating that it was over a Two Hour job. The alternator only lasted a day. ( I was concerned ). Turns out there was a leak where the radiator hose enters the engine block and it was dripping on the alternator wires. It burnt out the new alternator. They fixed the cause of the problem and Installed a new alternator Free of Charge. ( More than Impressive ). I also had a side view mirror that was just hanging. He was able to install a new one for under $150.00. Ford wanted close to $300.00 for the part alone. This was my first visit here but was treated as if I were a long time customer. I must admit I am Leary of auto shops in general, having been burnt in the past. I am now at peace Knowing that I have found someone I can trust to take care of all three of my vehicles in the future. Thanks Ron & Mike !!!!!!

Ron and Mike provide top quality service and are a pleasure to work with.  Car was ready in about one hour and they did more work that was required. I highly recommend Dr Brakes in Coral Springs.

It went okay. He did the work promptly. He said it was ready when he said it was going to be right. The price was fair. I would definitely go back in the future.

Dr. Brakes is very good. They have been working on my vehicles for quite awhile. The owner's name is Ronnie. He is very accurate at diagnosing an issue and finding the lowest cost solution. There are no surprises, like hey we found all this other damage. You get a pretty clear idea of what they issue is. After my experience with him, he is very aware of price point and what makes sense for the kind of repair for the car. I think he is an expert and very aware of the community and his reputation. He does a good job. I don't believe his price is inflated. If there is an issue after the repair, you go back and he will repair it.

They are so good that the owner gave me his personal cell number. He told me to call him directly if any one of his people is rude to us. However they don’t have rude people.  Ron is the owner and it is a family business. The actual mechanic is Mike, but either one is very good. I have warrantee company, and they always say no to honoring the warrantee. However when Ron calls them, they say yes. He is very good at working with warrantee companies. Of all the people I do business with, I would say that he is one of the best.  I would highly recommend him. They treat you like a friend, and they remember your name. I sent my daughter there, and I know Mike will not cheat her. He also treats my wife with a lot of respect, and so polite to her. We are all in with them; if they tell me something, I trust them.

I answered an add in a local newspaper regarding a special price for timing belts.  They gave me an approximate cost over the phone - I booked the work - parked the car in front of the office on a Sunday evening.  By 3pm on Monday it was done and I picked up the vehicle - excellent job - excellent price - and very pleasant to work with.

Not only did Ron beat the best price for installed tires with a better tire and do NECESSARY repair work (showing me the worn parts while still on my car) but to keep my business and stop me from gonig elsewhere for an alignment (where I had lifetime alignment) Ron did the alignment FOR FREE to keep my business and not require me to make another necessary stop before going to work. Best price, best service, and they stand behind their work. Unlinke the chains, this is a privately owned neighborhood shop that looks out for the best interest of their customers. What more could you ask for?
