Beltmann Group Inc - Ft. Lauderdale

My husband and I have used moving companies a total of 12 times and this was by far the worst experience we have ever had. We had over $5,000 worth of damages and a missing 55” TV that has never been found. Multiple boxes crushed, just pure disregard for our things. Our driver told us when he got to the storage facility to pick up our load that our stuff was all over the warehouse random and they had to find it all. Things showed up not even wrapped in pads. This was a 2800 mile move and just not across a city! It was heartbreaking to see or things just not taken care of. Stay away from this company. I tried to contact multiple times about the whole mess and no phone calls back. Took forever to get paid back. Awful company!

Very disappointed with Beltmann group. VALUABLE lamps delivered unprotected in open box with golf clubs! torn upholstery on chair, lost big screen power plug, bent wrought iron table. Terrible packing job. Boxes poorly marked and crystal packed with heavy stuff!!! Bought extra insurance but paid pennies on the dollar! Then took forever to get measly check. Sales rep NOWHERE to be found in processing claim. BUYER (Mover) beware! Never again.

The moving crew from NJ were terrible. They came LATE two days in a row. They also were not done when they promised causing me to change a flight with a monetary penalty added. Also, they threatened to walk off the job. Some items that were requested to be moved were never packed and shipped. So, there are some missing items, some that were never packed, and some missing from the van. The team got very sloppy toward the end and just wanted to get out of there. The contact person for Beltmann in NJ was Kathy Gagnon. Kathy was very unprofessional. When called, I was told she was in a meeting every time! She never returned my calls, and I had to track her down always. Also,Tim their dispatcher never had up to date news on the shipment. I was given a time frame from Aug. 23 - Aug. 27 for the van to deliver my items. Well, they didn't arrive until Aug. 28.

The crew in Florida were much better and organized. They were actually located at 3039 N ANDREWS AVE EXT,POMPANO BEACH, which was not on your list of locations in FL for Beltmann . The contact person was Doug Sanders. The team did what they were supposed to in a timely manner. Some items were damaged, but that I am sure occurred on the NJ end. Also, I mentioned the missing items, and god knows wherever they ended up!

Would not recommend Beltmann, agent for North American Van Lines to anyone!!! Very disappointed.

The move out of our old house took place in May of 2009. The Beltmann Truck showed up eight (8) hours late. Because they were so late and coming from a previous move, they were tired and ended up having to return the next morning to complete the move. Additionally, it got so dark that towards the end of the move they were just throwing items into the back of the truck with assurances that they would be appropriately packed at the warehouse. The move into our new house took place in June of 2010. Upon arrival there were numerous broken or missing items. Broken were: an antique high-boy and an Art Deco glass lampshade. Damaged by the movers was our newly refinished wood floors and lost was a flatscreen television. I called numerous times to try to have someone resolve the problem, but could not get a call back. Lodging a complaint with the BBB prompted a call from the General Manager who said he was embarassed that it took a BBB Complaint to prompt a call from his company. He claimed that I had been sent a 'Claims Form,' but none arrived at either my home address or my office/mailing address. He assured me he would have a check cut and delivered within five days to cover the cost of the new TV I had purchased (since I had not heard from them I decided not to sit around and wait to have it replaced). He was also going to send out a repair company to look at the floors and antiques. The antique repair company came by and was VERY professional and competent in repairing woodwork. They made an acceptable aesthetic repair to the antique high-boy. They stated that the entire floor would have to be refinished due to the depth of the gouge in the wood and took pictures of same. They told me they would pass on the message to the Beltmann General Manager. They also noted the broken glass lampshade. Since their visit I have not heard from anyone at Beltmann and the reimbursement for the television never arrived. I have called again and left messages, but to no avail. Additionally, they have claimed to the BBB that this issue was resolved to my satisfaction, which it has not.

The price seemed reasonable, the insurance coverage good, and they agreed to move us before the 4th of July holiday. However, they brought the wrong size truck (too small) and the movers left their lunch garbage (which fell out of their van) all over the lawn. The truck was too small to pick up our items in public storage (10 x 12 room full), so they sent a passenger van, which was also too small to even get the rest of the stuff inside the house. They filled the additional passenger van with boxes, but were unable to take several heavy pieces of lawn furniture. So, I had to leave town that day (due to our closing) with our moving materials scattered in four locations (truck, van, public storage, and front yard)! Amazingly (I think due to our conscientious driver, Jason), everything eventually showed up in Tallahassee a few days later in a big moving van. But, several items were damaged or broken, resulting in about $700 in damage. The damage claim was submitted on Aug. 24th and now it is the end of Dec. and still no claim payment. If the correct truck had been sent in the first place, we might very well of had a good experience with this company, but the comedy of errors that resulted and lack of timely claim resolution has left us very disappointed.
