Ada's Cleaning Service LLC

I run a vacation rental and do the cleaning myself, however due to so many bookings, I simply had to find a professional service, so responded to the very nice website for Pompano Beach "Ada's Cleaning Service". I later learned it was not owned by "Ada" and that it is run by Service Magic and probably has a different person in every area. "Ilene" answered and said there were two people at $40/hr. I emailed her a couple of times questioning her about cleaning before I agreed to hire her. My biggest concern is a common one, that one person knows how to clean but the second person is a "trainee". When you are paying by the hour, you are paying for one person to stop working and "train" the other person. "Ilene" said that the second girl was as good at cleaning as she was and that they never left without it being perfect and to my satisfaction. I met them at my property. You would think that a professional cleaning service with such a professional web site, claiming to be top professionals would arrive dressed professionally, especially when they know they are coming to a property with out of town guests. (I have three apartments). Both girls arrived dressed very sloppy. I instructed Ilene to vacuum first, before anything else and that the vacuum was in the laundry room in the next room. I emphasized this. Ilene instructed the other girl to do the bathroom. I went in there with her and gave her the cleaning supplies. This is a lovely bathroom, but there was some "mold" in the corner and along the side of the tub. She "asked me" how to get it up. (!!) I told bathroom girl to use the Softscrub with clorox on the tub. Then Ilene actually asked me if I wanted the lamp shades dusted. It was as if she was trying to use up "time". A true professional "sees" what has to be cleaned and jumps right in. I knew then that I had the wrong people.. but decided not to be too judgemental and left to do laundry. When I came back 15 mins later Ilene was just slowly dusting! "I don't know where the vacuum is and this is the way we do it." she protested when I asked her why she had not followed my instruction to vacuum first. The other girl came out and proudly beamed, "Come look what I did!" so I went into the bathroom and she had simply squirted Softscrub around the edge of the tub and was standing there smiling proudly. I told them, "Nope! You do NOT know how to clean. You deceived me." The young bathroom girl was so very sweet, and kept saying, "I know how to clean. I know how to clean." and Ilene barked at her nastily. I gave them $40 and told them to leave. Ilene then argued with me. "You didn't tell me where the vacuum was... etc." I was so disappointed because I really needed help. It takes me four hours start to finish to do the apt. At the rate they were moving it would have taken 12 hours or more. The cost could have been $480. for a one bedroom apt. ... and yet they did not even know HOW to clean. I was stunned. Isn't there a truly professional cleaning service out there?
