I called and asked if they worked on LG refrigerators which they said yes. The tech showed up and diagnosed the problem but said he may not be able to work on it if it was under warranty. He said I would have to call and find out then left. Since it is under warranty they all of a sudden can't work on it. Still charged $75 for doing absolutely nothing. I called the office manager and asked why they don't inform people that they are not allowed to do warranty work and she said it was my responsibility to tell them. That the owner doesn't want to miss a call. She was very snooty during the whole conversation. Consumer beware; they are more interested in getting your money than being honest enough up front to let you know what they can and can't do. Nothing more than a money grab operation.

We called Whirlpool and they agreed to pay for the part since the appliance wasn't yet two years old.  They wanted to know who was doing the repair.  We stated, as we had been told, the it was A Plus, formally MASCO.  They sent the work order to MASCO, since that was the closest certified repair service.  When we confronted the A Plus repairman on a telephone call about the apparent misrepresentation as a certified dealer, he said we never asked him directly if he was certified!  In fact, we had shared the entire story of how our first repairer (who wasn't certified to repair Whirlpool appliances) had referred us to a certified dealer, because that was a requirement of Whirlpool.  We had called a telephone number we found online for MASCO, and evidently that number (it wasn't listed as an A Plus telephone connection), used a common answering service.
We have now had the ice maker examined by MASCO and paid them a service charge.  They will install the needed part when it arrives and we will pay the instillation fee.  We are now hoping to have a functioning ice maker in the next few weeks and we are resolved to never call A Plus again.  He knew he wasn't certified to perform the service and proceeded to lead us on long past the time when he should have admitted he could not complete the job.

"A Plus technician was called out to residence to ice maker. There was another company out there who previously diagnosed this ice maker. A Plus technician cycled ice maker and it was working properly. Customer called A Plus again and the tech returned to find bad lazer eyes part bad. Tech suggestied as a COURTESY to customer that he should contact Whirlpool Company to perform service. The refrigerator is fairly new. Customer asked A Plus tech if he could perform the service. At which point tech said that A Plus Appliance Repair Svc is NOT an AUTHORIZED Whirlpool Service company. A Plus Appliance Repair Service, Inc. has been working under the same name for 30 years. We have never been affiliated with MASCO. We use our own Answering Service not affiliated with MASCO. Additionally, we service all Major Appliances. All Makes and Models. We are not a Factory Authorized service company."

The company was recommended by my condo association management. I called Thursday afternoon spoke with the receptionist, she said she would see when the tech could come out and call me right back. She called me within 5 minutes to see if Friday morning would be ok. She gave me the techs name and said he would call first thing in the morning to confirm a time.
Friday morning, the tech called me at 7:30 am, reviewed the issues with me. For the fridge water paddle he gave me the manufactures price to replace the part and he recommended a different option that he said was more durable and cheaper. He explained the difference over the phone (manufacturer paddle was clear, tended to break and the other option he had was black). Also asked when the issue with the washer started and he said it was most likely the belt. Confirmed that he would arrive prior to 11 am.
He called just after 9 am letting me know he was on the way. About 30 minutes later he was at my front door. He asked if he could do the washing machine first. I had pulled the stacked washer/dryer out of the closet thinking he would need access to the back. He saw that and said he could fix it from the front. He quickly pushed it back into place, reattached the dryer hose that is a pain to connect. Then opened the front of the machine, pulled out the burnt/chewed up belt and showed me that was the issue. Replaced it and put everything back together. Washing machine fixed in about 10 minutes!
In the kitchen, he quickly replaced the paddle for the water dispenser, he was done in about 10 minutes.
The bill was exactly what we discussed over the phone. He told me they had a 90 day warranty on the work performed, if I needed anything to call them back. The tech was very polite and quick. This company was the fastest I have ever had come into my home to do any repairs, speedy appointment, confirmations and a very fast tech!

THE WASHER HAS WORKED FINE SINCE THE REPAIRS WERE DONE. THE SERVICEMAN WAS COURTEOUS AND DID A GREAT JOB FIXING THE WASHER. THEY CAME TO THE HOUSE QUICKLY TO DO THE REPAIR AND WAS A SKILLED SERVICEMAN.
