The entire project from beginning to end was painful.  The timelines give by the General Contractor were never meet.  They had no regards for my time and never showed up when appointments were made.  

The counter tops for the project was a whole different ordeal.  They measured one way with my approval, but made the counter tops much larger than approved.  After weeks of fighting, they finally came back and took the counters back to their shop for modifications.  The counters are not what  asked for.  I asked for Quartz and they gave me quartzite, so they said.  I have had many people come in my home and tell me it's marble, which would explain all the etching from cups, bowls, etc.  The kitchen is less than a year old and the counter tops looks a mess.  I have called the GC several times to have them come out and look at what could be done, but all I get is empty promises and he never shows up.

The cabinet guy did things throughout the installation, which made me believe they were all amateurs.  Placing the handles on the cabinets wrong, making holes that shouldn't have been.  This cause more delays and cabinets having to be replaced.

Work can out beautiful, but it was a very painful experience from start to end.

At first, we though we found our builder.  No State complaints, none on Angie's List either.  They were real quick to take the money--even cashed the check not even 10 minutes after they left the house.  But a deadline was never met. I kept getting excuses that "it's the process"  "these things take time"  "we want to do it right".  Found out that I paid 100% over cost for the architect plans. What started in August and should have been done 9 months later NEVER even started.  We were lucky to get out unscathed.. but we did have to make some demands for restitution in the end.  Avoid them at all costs !!  What a 9 month long headache.
