Spin-Well Fabrication

I ordered the $60.00 Sharpening package for 12 knives. I usually don't like doing service out of my local area, but the Angie's List had been very good about the providers. I sent my expensive knives worth $500.00 to get sharpen. I read the instructions for mail. So I mail the package April 10th and they delivery the package on April 12th. I wait about a week to see when I would be receiving my knives back--NO answer. I left several message over a two week span. Then I got worred. I call the Angie's List office. I don't think they were getting any response either. I finally talk to Danny. He sent me this form. I should never have sent most of my knives to them. So here I am waiting.

I called before I went to the location, the owner met me at the door.  He completed the work while I ran an errand, and now I have wonderfully sharp knives.

The service is great, but by the time you pay for shipping of your knives there and back it's too expensive.

Hassle free, quick and painless.  If all service providers were this responsive and prompt.  I shipped my knives, rec'd notification of delivery and knives returned within about 7 business days.

I was a little nervous about sending my knives out of state to get them sharpened, but I shouldn't have worried! Spin Well sharpened my knives and returned them more quickly than I expected. They are sharp and it was worth every penny!

All my kitchen knives were virtually useless they were so dull. Got an initial deal with Spin Well Fabrication in Seffner, Florida through Angies' List to sharpen eight knives for $ 40.00. I called Chuck Dintruff, owner, to send all my kitchen knives ( 25 and one scissor ), to be sharpened at the same price. He did a great job and sent them back in a very timely manor. It's a real pleasure to use a knife that will cut. Great job Chuck. Thanks. Mike Fontenot, Porter, Texas.

Spin-Well responded to all messages very quickly. The service was completed quickly and my knives were returned very soon thereafter. He had a question and tracked me down by phone to be sure he completed the work as I wanted it. Excellent work. Recommended without reservation!

First, If you use a GPS with 1708 E. MLK Blvd, it will guide you to a vacant convenience store 1.5 miles WEST of the shop.
Chuck (owner) told me it is a common occurrence however if you put 1710 E. MLK Blvd, it will be correct. The building is on
the north side of the street, a blue building with a red door.

I met Chuck and asked if he could hone my straight razor since it was not 'shave ready'.
Chuck stated that he could hone my razor for the unbelievable sum of $5.00.
Chuck did a EXCELLENT job of sharpening my razor as well as providing tips for using
a razor strop to keep my razor 'shave ready.
I would recommend Spin-Well Fabrication.... aka Dintruff Knives for any sharpening that
needs to be accomplished from butcher knives, scissors to your lawn mower blade, all at very
reasonable prices.
Chuck told me he receives items to be sharpened from all over the country and he also
will custom build a knife or straight razor to your specifications.

We got some nice Wusthof knives for a wedding present and I didn't want to mess them up by having a hack do the sharpening. Took them to Spin-Well after seeing a couple of reviews on Angie's List and couldn't be happier with the outcome. The work was done while I was there. A cleaver, 2 chef's knives, filet, pairing, and a couple of multi-purpose knives are all now super sharp and I love using them in the kitchen. While I was there I also picked up a ceramic sharpening rod to keep them at peak performance. The commute out to Seffner from South Tampa took longer than the time to service the knives, but the trip was well worth it. I'll definitely use them again!

I took a butcher block of 16 assorted knives that had not been professionally sharpened in 11+ years. he charged us only $3 per knife and did them in less than 1 hour! It was fanatstic and the knives have never been sharper. We are very pleased and will recommend him to everyone.

Used Spin-well for the first time today and I was really impressed. Have been having a VERY difficult time finding a good knife sharpening service in the Tampa area. But I found one at last. Service was quick, very reasonably priced and most of all - these knives have never been as sharp as they are now. Chuck Dintruff went over each of the blades with me and recommended if they should be hollow ground or not. In the end we decided to hollow ground 3 and 7 were regular sharpen service. Regular knives were just $3.00 each and hollow ground was just a dollar more

He will sharpen while you wait. I ducked out, went and got a quick bite to eat and by the time I got back he was done.

This is not a fancy store front, so don't expect that, and don't be put off by it either - - it is a working fabrication site. This is one of those great finds where there is a craftsman who knows his trade. Unless you have a series of diamond and wet stones at home and really know what you are doing there is no way to get your knives as sharp as this.

Chuck really got the fine edge back on these knives. In addition to sharpening he and his business partner make custom knives as well and do steel fabrication so he knows his way around a knife. BTW, if you have time take a look at the knives he makes - they have won Best In Show awards.

If you need ANYTHING sharpened they do it. I live about 25 min away in South Tampa and it was worth the trip. They are open Tuesday thru Saturday 9 am - 6 pm. Chuck was a few minutes late opening up but that was no big deal, just mentioning it so if you go out right when they open and he is not there don't panic. You can also call ahead as well.
