I met with Aaron and Andrew and explained what I wanted. They were very friendly and helpful. I needed my yard mowed, a palm tree trimmed, bushes trimmed, mulch laid and spraying the yard. They quoted me a price of $600.00. I asked if I could pay $200 every other Friday when I got paid and they agreed. The first mow was on May 3rd. I asked them to email me the invoice because I sometimes receive texts on my phone 2 or 3 days later. She didn’t do that, so the money was paid 2 days after the work was done. The second mow I got the invoice and paid on time. The final work to be done was the biggest challenge. They were supposed to trim my palm tree in the back yard. She sent a text the day before the payment was due wanting me to pay cash or a check. I told her to send me the invoice and that I would pay it the next day when I received my pay. This was May 17th. I paid the last installment and they were going to do the work on May 19th. They didn’t show up so I figured they were busy and didn’t have time to get to my yard. No big deal. I received a text on June 3rd that they had to go out of town on an emergency and would finish the work the following week. I was ok with that. Then we had 2 weeks of solid rain, and I knew they were not going to be able to do the work in that weather. Then, we had a week of very hot weather. I texted them on June 20th and asked if my yard was going to be done that weekend. I didn’t get a response. I texted again the next day and told them that they had the money, the least they could do was call. She responded “sorry, I just got the message and that they would be out the next week.” I texted again on June 27th asking if my yard would be done by the 28th, and no response. I was really getting agitated by this time and sent another text. I told them that I had been as patient as I could be. If the work wasn’t done by the next day, I was going to write a review, call the cops and a lawyer. I apologized for being harsh, and asked that they either give me my $200 back or finish the job. I received a text five minutes later telling me that they just got back in town and there was no reason to act that way over my yard. Then I was told that she had returned my texts and that they had five kids, things happen in life and can’t be controlled, and that they lived 2 hours away. She told me that I was the only person out of 22 people that was acting this way and that family comes first and that they were going to come and finish that week, weather permitting, and that they would no longer be providing services and to please find someone else. I just wanted to have my yard finished or my money back. I was very disappointed. I just want my money back. If the situation was reversed, I probably would have been arrested for non payment for services rendered. I have all of the texts saved.
