"Customer, We are sorry to hear that you were so displeased with our service. Air Design Systems is not the only company in town to charge for the “Check Me Plus” evaluation. This evaluation enables the customer to qualify for an incentive from $100 to $1,000 depending on the results of the evaluation. The evaluation can be very lengthy and technical and can take from 2 - 4 hours to perform. If not performed correctly and the information reported accurately, the customer could be denied the appropriate incentive amount. Our records show that the evaluation on your system took 3-1/2 hours and you qualified for the $1,000 incentive amount. After the evaluation, our project manager submitted four quotes to you for various options of equipment to choose from; Choosing equipment is like buying a car – you can get a luxury car with a lot of “bells & whistles” or you can choose an economy model; you chose the American Standard 16 SEER high efficiency system. Upon your verbal approval, our project manager promptly started preparation to do your job. The day before we are scheduled to do your job, you called and cancelled. This cost Air Design money. We had ordered the equipment and it had been delivered, had purchased all of the materials to perform the job, pulled the permit, our fabrication shop custom made a drain pan for your unit, and we had an installation crew scheduled to come and install your new system. Yes, it was a “verbal” approval, but we take people at their word. Even if you had signed our proposal, we would have let you out of the agreement – because that is how we do business. Unlike your statement, we do not “price gouge like a car mechanic”, “pocket the money” or take advantage of our customers in any way. And YES, we do advertise a lot. We are proud to have been serving Pensacola and the surroundings areas for over 35 years and plan on continuing to do this for many years to come so all of our customers can count on us being here when they need us. Are we perfect? NO. We do business with a reputation built on being versatile, honest, and fair. I’m sure the company you chose did a good job and I hope that you continue to not have any problems with your system.
