I hired Masterfix in May 2024 to repair my oven. They charged hundreds of dollars to replace heating element. Six months later, the heating element has stopped working. I just heard from Masterfix that they will not stand behind the parts or the labor. I would not recommend this company.

Very sketchy billing. Took credit card for down payment, once fixed phone wrang, can you pay by cash or check? paid by check. Next day got a call, lost check can you put a stop payment on it? I said my bank charges $35, said that was probably ok but wanted to check with "accounting department" and then they would send me a new invoice by phone), next day check cleared? Took forever to find this site to post. Once you are done browsing for repair service, you can't find their site again. Nothing on their invoice (which comes over the phone) except a Hollywood FL address. (I live in VA) No van or truck with company name, just a guy in an old car who spoke zero English. I couldn't find out what part it was, if it could have been caused by a power surge? nothing. Anyway, a positive is the dishwasher was fixed. Next time I will make sure it is a local area code and phone number with a web site and physical address in my location.

Honestly think this company is using a local number and white guy talking about his mother and her appliances to make people think they are Western NY based. You'll get texts from "mike" with questions about how they can help you, but when you respond, it's clearly an auto bot text and not a real person. STAY AWAY. Instead of boring you with all the details, I'll leave the highlights. 1. They make you talk to a call center. The agents are difficult to communicate issues to because in my experience English was not the primary language of anyone I spoke with. That wasn't the issue. I felt an extreme disconnect trying to talk to someone in Florida about the issues with my appliance and what was happening on the ground at my Buffalo NY house. The experience and issues I was had was not just with the customer service, but with the extreme lack of communication and professionalism, as well as the attempted repair and follow up. 2. I would call multiple times a day to find out the status of our repair, as it was nearing 2 weeks of my tenants being without an appliance and no one was updating me on anything. I was told the fridge was in observation. No one could tell me what that meant. It's a fridge not a human, it works or it doesn't. How do you observe something if you're not there? The tech that dealt with my tenants could not speak english and used a translator app to communicate. The tech also had the customer service center involved on the line and would pass info through them to my tenant, also with the translation app. Had the tech used the app and also communicated/resolved the issue, I would have zero thought outside of a mild inconvenience. Not the case. 3. After the part was installed, it didn't work. They took the part and left with no next steps. I called the service number, they said they had to get a new part. And would be back Monday at 11AM and the service was a 3 hour job. The tech never showed. When I called they said it was a range. 11-3PM. 7PM, still no one showed. The next day I called, they said the service person had an inconvenience with the part and had to go to the warehouse. They wanted to reschedule. I expressed that an inconvenience wasn't my issue and that they could come back after going to the warehouse. Nothing. 4. Still had no idea what was happening with my non-working/pieces missing fridge, 10 days after setting up the appointment. But had paid the deposit AND the cost of the "diagnosed" repair at this point. 5. I had paid $700 at that point and nothing had been done and had no idea what was happening. The Tenant took work off to be available for the tech and they would just show up when they wanted or not at all. When I called to express that I wasn't to withdrawal my business from their company and get my money back, the phone agent said, "it was a mistake. I don't know what to tell you. " I asked for a manager and waited on the phone for 20 min, as no one ever calls me back when they say they will. Eventually the girl gets back on and says the manager isn't available and they will call me back when she is. I don't get a call back, so I call back. I immediately ask for a manager. She says she's sorry but she will call me back in two minutes. 30 min pass and I get a call from another entry level agent saying she got special approval to schedule my appointment for the next day. I told her I was done with them and was waiting to talk to a manager. 6. Was able to get Sears out to look at the issue. Right away the LOCAL Technician told me the compressor was bad. Has no idea why they installed new parts/had to weld on the fridge. A new compressor costs 1400 and had no idea what other garbage they would find messed up by this company when installing the new compressor. ...

I had to recall them for my refrigerator not cooling. First call and visit 6/12/24 they were very responsive. Work was quick and seemed fine. They were paid cash in FULL!!! On recalling them the week after, was told same part had to be re-ordered. Would have to again wait at least a couple of days for Technician to pickup at the warehouse. Repair was scheduled for last Sat.6/29/24- no SHOW no call, no text. I had to call them this a.m. 7/1/24 - same story, they need several days for warehouse pickup. Will call/text me today when technician has been scheduled.......Its 830 P.M. NOTHING. Call somebody else. I'm done....I need my fridge!! WOULD like some portion of payment returned
