I can't begin to tell you how many times we have used Bill for our Security System. The day before we were to go out of town our battery decided to run low. Of course we panicked and emailed Bill immediately. Unfortunately we didn't leave but the next morning we had received an email and later a phone call saying that he could come out that day (this was before he knew we were staying home). We scheduled an appointment for later and he came and replaced the battery, ran various tests and talked to us about the new systems available. We will continue to use Bill for all our Security needs...great individual.

Perfectly. Bill did some security system repairs for us in 2014 so when we needed more extensive work in 2019, he was the first one we called. Several companies on Angie's List install security systems as a sideline but security is all Bill does and he is expert at it. Bill did an excellent job of installing new equipment and connecting existing alarmed doors. He was professional, neat and courteous. He explained everything he was doing, he answered all of our questions and explained how the system worked. He volunteered that he would be available if further assistance was needed and in fact, we've already contacted him with a minor issue that was promptly resolved. We rated him as A in all categories but couldn't provide a rating on pricing since we weren't able to find another vendor who's only specialty was home security but we did feel that the pricing was fair. We would definitely recommend Bill.

It is always a pleasure doing business with Bill. He explains procedures so well - even to those of us that can't always remember. We thought we had a keypad problem but instead of just replacing the entire unit we discovered what the issue was and corrected it. Even at times when we have panicked with an alarm issue Bill was able to walk us through what to do over the phone. We will always use Bill for any of our alarm issues.

Bill came out the day after the alarm issue, installed a new Honeywell alarm keypad, then meticulously checked every piece of wiring in the box, and every window and door to determine the real zones, then labeled all of those in the wiring box. I went from 6 zones to 15, so I would know exactly what window/door tripped the system. He spent 5 or so hours cleaning up the mess left by the home builder, and now I have come into the 21st century. Bill remained to insure we knew exactly how to work the system, and that it would indeed alarm when tripped. It worked flawlessly during the night. He will be my alarm guy from now on based on his expertise, professionalism, and cost effectiveness.

Service was great and fast. Bill is a great guy. Very nice and flexible with your schedule. I highly recommend his company!

Bill was very punctual on his two visits and easily worked around my work schedule. He was very pleasant and explained how the system works and answered my many questions. When I asked about how the system could be improved in certain rooms of the house, he explained why or why not certain features would be necessary. I highly recommend this company's services and plan to use them again to upgrade part of the system when my budget allows for it.

Bill Orendorf exceeded my expectations.  I already had a home security system, however it was outdated non-functional.  Bill arrived and provided a quote using my existing contacts.  The estimate included the possible need for an extended range antenna to boost wireless reception.  Bill tried positioning the cellular radio to maximize reception to avoid the additional cost, however the extended range antenna was still needed.  I applaud Bill on his effort to avoid this added expense ($149).  Bill thoroughly examined each contact and took time to ensure my understanding of the keypad functionality and on-line set up.
Although Bill provided monitoring information, he did not try to sell me on monitoring unless it was something I wanted.  The mobile features I was seeking was an add-on to a monitoring plan.  Bill works with a monitoring company that provides 24/7 monitoring and mobile access/control for $39/mo.  I found that to be very reasonable.  Overall, I was very please with this experience and feel more secure in my home.

I had used Bill in the past to install a system at my house, and so I decided to use him again for installing a security system at another property (a duplex) that I own.  Just like last time, Bill was professional in every sense of the word -- always kept me up to date as to status, was flexible as to my needs, and did a high quality job.  I would highly recommend Bill to anyone.  (And the cost of monitoring is a bargain compared to other companies!)

I am very pleased with Bill's service. He made a personal visit to our home and listened to my concerns and made good suggestions. As promised he quickly sent me an email with an alarm quote that included some additional options for me to consider. This quote also included a monthly monitoring cost which I found to be very fair. If you paid on an annual basis, the price was for eleven months. When Bill came for installation, he initially reviewed carefully the documents, taking particular concern that I understood, and was comfortable. His installation went very well, and he asked me location preference questions as he proceeded. All his work was neat. Once done, he reviewed the procedures, watching me follow through to be sure I understood. Bill was also quick to respond to any questions I had after installation. Bill provided me an Alarm Certificate, a copy of which was sent to our home insurance company. The insurance company made a reduction in my annual premium and a check is in the mail providing me a credit on the remaining term of the current year. I found Bill to be very professional and consultive in his approach. He did not pressure me, and truly seemed desirous to provide good service. It was more than just a sale. I did meet with representatives of a larger company and noted the difference.

Not pleased with quality of equipment installed (do-it-yourselfer grade).  Terms of contract were not well explained before work began.  Installer did not have a professional appearance.  Overall not happy with this experience.

This is the second time we've used Tampa Bay Security and, as in the last visit, it was a great experience. Bill arrived on time and in very short order found the source of the problem. He replaced a window sensor and also replaced a wireless remote control that we were having trouble with. He asked that I call ADT to have the system placed in test mode so that he could test it and I was on hold with them for 15 minutes. I hung up without talking to anyone and Bill told me about a local monitoring company that he said he's been using for 30 years with great success. On the spot I decided to switch to them. Bill then spent another 30 minutes changing our system over to the new company at no additional charge. All in all a great experience. Our security system is working perfectly and, hopefully, we now have a monitoring service that will actually answer their phone when I call them.

Everything went well. Bill arrived on time and completed the job in the projected time frame.

Bill was extremely professional and explained his objectives and asked us questions about sensors and panel locations to maximize the systems efficiency. He will return to install remaining sensors once drywall is installed in the addition. He took the time to explain the alarm functions and his recommended applications for the various active alarm settings.

We ran a test on our alarm system, and entirely our fault, the test did not go the alarm company. Immediately we called Bill who just happened to be on a call close by. He was at our house within 30 minutes. When we told him what we had done, he instructed us on what we should have done. Low and behold the entire test went through perfectly. Being the type of wonderful individual Bill is he did not charge us for the call. We will always do business with Tampa Bay Security and Bill. It's so nice to do business with him.

We had a system in our home, but it got fried by lightening and the company is no longer in existence. We made many calls and found most places won't even talk to you if you do not have a system installed and monitored by them. We just wanted to put an active system in our home without monitoring for the time being. Bill was extremely knowledgeable and not pushy at all. He had no problem coming out and installing a new system knowing that we were not interested in monitoring services at the time. He installed on a timely basis, returned calls and explained everything to us and made sure we knew how to use the system. He checked every single door and window as well to make sure all contacts were working and was equipped with parts needed to replace what was not working. He explained what other products we might be interested in down the line, but again did not push. We will certainly have him back to install more and would very much recommend him to anyone that needs this type of service. Thank you Bill! And Angie's List!

Outstanding experience with Bill. He is very knowledgable and listens closely to your particular security needs, then designs the appropriate system configuration.
We were moving from out of state and Bill was very accomodating to our schedule for the initial walk-through of the house for estimating purposes. He then promptly provided an accurate quote that gave us several options for our consideration. He installed, tested and trained us on the system the same day. Where it was possible to use existing wiring or components (smoke detectors), he did so. He also provided the Certificate we needed for insurance purposes the same day.
The advantage to his company is that you own all your system components and therefore you aren't paying a monthly 'rental' fee for the devices. The monitoring company he uses had been in business many years. I would highly recommend him for any security system install or upgrades you may be considering.

We were having problems with our alarm. We called on Tampa Bay Security. The technician was prompt, professional, and thorough. When you have something malfunction or break at home, your first thought is that it's going to be expensive & a hassle. Tampa Bay Security made the whole experience easier & the cost was very reasonable. I would definitely use them again.

Bill was wonderful. In less than 24 hours from the time I sent an inquiry through Angie's List, he'd scheduled an appointment, arrived when expected, and addressed the issues one by one. After checking all door and windows to determine which ones had contacts that were no longer working, he explained what he was doing as he set about replacing the defective contacts. After everything was again working, he cleaned up the minor messes (little bits of wire, etc) and that was that. Thoroughly professional, friendly, and informative. I'm smiling.

Bill was prompt, courteous and patient. He took the time to do a full assessment of what we needed and was able to install the system very quickly (same week). He was thorough, and very professional. Also, while Bill is an installer, I have only great things to say about the servicing company (Digicom) as well. Both Bill and the servicing company are local companies who have been around quite awhile and I would HIGHLY recommend both him and Digicom. Thanks!
